On the Characterizability of the Automorphism Groups of Sporadic Simple Groups by Their Element Orders

For G a finite group, π _e (G) denotes the set of orders of elements in G. If Ω is a subset of the set of natural numbers, h(Ω) stands for the number of isomorphism classes of finite groups with the same set Ω of element orders. We say that G is k-distinguishable if h(π _e (G)) = k < ∞, otherwise G is called non-distinguishable. Usually, a 1-distinguishable group is called a characterizable group. It is shown that if M is a sporadic simple group different from M ₁₂, M ₂₂, J ₂, He, Suz, M ^c L and O′N, then Aut(M) is characterizable by its element orders. It is also proved that if M is isomorphic to M ₁₂, M ₂₂, He, Suz or O′N, then h(π _e (Aut(M))) ∈¸ {1,∞}.     

Distinguishing colorings of Cartesian products of complete graphs

We determine the values of s and t for which there is a coloring of the edges of the complete bipartite graph K_s,t which admits only the identity automorphism. In particular, this allows us to determine the distinguishing number of the Cartesian product of complete graphs.

Sur les immeubles triangulaires et leurs automorphismes

Résumé  Les travaux de J. Tits ont conduit à la classification complète des immeubles euclidiens de dimension supérieure ou égale à 3. L’ensemble de ces immeubles à isomorphisme près est dénombrable et paramétré par les corps locaux qui leur correspondent. Dans cet article nous nous intéressons aux immeubles triangulaires, qui sont euclidiens de dimension 2 et pour lesquelles une paramétrisation analogue est impossible. Nous construisons une lamination Λ sur un espace topologique localement compact séparé, dont l’espace des feuilles est l’ensemble des immeubles triangulaires à isomorphisme près. On considère ainsi les immeubles triangulaires comme points d’un espace dont Λ est une désingularisation naturelle. Nous établissons des résultats de chirurgie sur les immeubles triangulaires à données locales fixées. Ils entra?nent par exemple que Λ est topologiquement transitive. Nous montrons qu’un immeuble triangulaire générique au sens de Baire a un groupe d’automorphismes trivial et qu’il contient toutes les géométries locales possibles. L’espace des immeubles triangulaires à isomorphisme près est un nouvel exemple d’espace non commutatif. Le second auteur a été en partie financé par JSPS.     

Quasi-symmetric 2-(64,24,46) designs derived from AG(3,4)

This paper completes the enumeration of quasi-symmetric 2-$(64,24,46)$ designs supported by the dual code $C^{\perp }$ of the binary linear code $C$ spanned by the lines of $AG(3,4)$, initiated in Rodrigues and Tonchev (2015). It is shown that $C^{\perp }$ supports exactly 30,264 nonisomorphic quasi-symmetric 2-$(64,24,46)$ designs. The automorphism groups of the related strongly regular graphs are computed.     

Structures of the twisted N = 1 Schrödinger–Neveu–Schwarz algebra

In this paper, we determine the universal central extension, derivation algebra and automorphism group of the twisted N = 1 Schrödinger–Neveu–Schwarz algebra. Furthermore, we generalize these results to the generalized twisted N = 1 Schrödinger–Neveu–Schwarz algebra in the final section.     

Automorphisms of the endomorphism semigroup of a free commutative dimonoid

We determine all isomorphisms between the endomorphism semigroups of free commutative dimonoids and prove that all automorphisms of the endomorphism semigroup of a free commutative dimonoid are quasi-inner. In particular, we answer a question of B. I. Plotkin.
