We consider the null controllability problem for thermoelastic plates, defined on a two dimensional domain Ω, and subject to hinged, clamped or free boundary conditions. The uncontrolled partial differential equation system generates an analytic semigroup on the space of finite energy. Consequently, the concept of null controllability is indeed appropriate for consideration here. It is shown that all finite energy states can be driven to zero by means of just one L2((0,T)×Ω) control be it either mechanical or thermal. The singularity, as T↓0, of the associated minimal energy function is the main object studied in the paper. Singularity and blow-up rates for minimal energy function are not only of interest in their own right but are also of critical importance in Stochastic PDEs. In this paper, we establish the optimal blow-up rate for this function. It is shown that the rate of singularity is the same as for finite-dimensional truncations of the model. In view of sharp estimates available in the finite dimensional setting [Math. Control Signals Systems 9 (1997) 327], the singularity rates provided in this paper are optimal. 相似文献

We consider the connection problem for the Heun differential equation, which is a Fuchsian differential equation that has four regular singular points. We consider the case in which the parameters in this equation satisfy a certain set of conditions coming from the eigenvalue problem of the non-commutative harmonic oscillators. As an application, we describe eigenvalues with multiplicities greater than 1 and the corresponding odd eigenfunctions of the non-commutative harmonic oscillators. We find a one-to-one correspondence between sets of evolution data with m = 3 and homogeneous symplectic 2-manifolds P. This enables us to write down several interesting sets of evolution data, and so to construct corresponding families of special Lagrangian 3-folds in C3.Our main results are a number of new families of special Lagrangian 3-foldsin C3, which we write very explicitly in parametric form. Generically these are nonsingular as immersed 3-submanifolds, and diffeomorphic to R3 or

The solution of the Stokes problem in three-dimensional domainswith edges has anisotropic singular behaviour which is treatednumerically by using anisotropic finite element meshes. Thevelocity is approximated by CrouzeixRaviart (nonconformingP1 ) elements and the pressure by piecewise constants. Thismethod is stable for general meshes (without minimal or maximalangle condition). We suggest that the high-temperature superconductivity can be attributed to the director-roles of the van Hove singularity
between an electron-electron interaction and an electron-phonon interaction. The difference between the critical temperature
and the pairing temperature is presented, and the Fermi arc, the d-wave symmetry and the poor conductivity, etc., are discussed. In particular, the non-s-wave symmetry is predicted to have the highest T
c for superconductors.

to see that this model exhibits strong curvature for all time in future, unlike models with ‘big-rip singularity’ showing
high curvature near singularity time only. So, quantum gravity effects grow dominant as time increases in late universe too.
More importantly, it is demonstrated that quantum corrections to FRW equations lead to non-violation of ‘cosmic energy conditions’

Density fitting scheme is analyzed for the Coulomb problem in extended systems from the correctness of long‐range behavior point of view. We show that for the correct cancellation of divergent long‐range Coulomb terms it is crucial for the density fitting scheme to reproduce the overlap matrix exactly. It is demonstrated that from all possible fitting metric choices the Coulomb metric is the only one which inherently preserves the overlap matrix for infinite systems with translational periodicity. Moreover, we show that by a small additional effort any non‐Coulomb metric fit can be made overlap‐preserving as well. We introduce the notion of logarithmic index of a vector field on a hypersurface and prove that the homological index can be expressed via the logarithmic index. Then both invariants are described in terms of logarithmic differential forms for Saito free divisors, which are hypersurfaces with nonisolated singularities, and all contracting homology groups of the complex of regular holomorphic forms on such a hypersurface are computed. In conclusion, we consider the case of normal hypersurfaces, including the case of an isolated singularity, and describe the contracting homology of the complex of regular meromorphic forms with the help of the residue of logarithmic forms. 相似文献
