On the dynamic behavior of gas bubbles in an inhomogeneous standing wave

The motion of gas bubbles in an inhomogeneous standing wave is examined. The nonlinear system of equations is solved by the averaging method. Interaction soliton–sable dans un canal en eau peu profonde

Interaction between solitons and a sandy bed in shallow water is investigated. In our experiments, solitons are generated on the background of a harmonic wave, in a wave flume used in resonant mode. It is found that the sand ripples formed by the solitons propagation induce a significant decrease of solitons amplitude and of the phase shift between the soliton and the harmonic wave. However, the amplitude of the harmonic wave is approximately constant. The possible physical processes of such behaviour for the soliton amplitude and for the harmonic wave amplitude are discussed. 从光闪烁频谱反演大气湍流谱:原理与数值模拟

建立了一种数值算法,从光波在湍流大气中传播的闪烁时间频谱的高频特征反演大气光学湍流谱.此算法具有两点优越性:（1）反演出的湍流谱直接表征大气折射率的起伏而非大气温度场的起伏;（2）可以获得高空间波数、大部分位于耗散区的湍流谱,而用其它方法不易获得此区域的湍流谱.对Hill湍流谱以及一种复杂的湍流谱进行了大量数值模拟来检验此种算法,结果表明:如果知道大气风速与湍流内尺度就可以相当有效地获得湍流谱.     

Plane strain wave in an isotropic layer of a viscoelastic material

The velocity and the rate of decay of a strain wave in a layer of a viscoelastic material rigidly fixed on a solid foundation are determined. The wave structure (ratio of the longitudinal to the transverse displacement) and the profiles of these displacements are analyzed. Attenuation of waves in the first mode is found to be more significant than that in an infinite space. The most intense decay is observed at resonance frequencies. A strong effect of compressibility of the medium on wave parameters is revealed. Conditions at which such a system operates as a waveguide are found. For a loss tangent higher than 0.13 (for an incompressible medium), the character of the dispersion dependence is observed to change drastically: the wave velocity decreases with decreasing frequency. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 47, No. 3, pp. 104–111, May–June, 2006.

作者在用摄影法进行坚直椭圆管内降膜波动实验研究时证实,当Re<400时,降膜内确实存在孤立波;R_(?)>400时,存在随机波.降膜中的孤立波是由小扰动发展而成的.实验结果与理论预测的孤立波特性吻合较好.     

Equivalence Theorems on the Propagation of Small-Amplitude Waves in Prestressed Linearly Elastic Materials with Internal Constraints

By extending the procedure of linearization for constrained elastic materials in the papers by Marlow and Chadwick et al., we set up a linearized theory of constrained materials with initial stress (not necessarily based on a nonlinear theory). The conditions of propagation are characterized for small-displacement waves that may be either of discontinuity type of any given order or, in the homogeneous case, plane progressive. We see that, just as in the unconstrained case, the laws of propagation of discontinuity waves are the same as those of progressive waves. Waves are classified as mixed, kinematic, or ghost. Then we prove that the analogues of Truesdell"s two equivalence theorems on wave propagation in finite elasticity hold for each type of wave.
