Computational implementation of stress integration in FE analysis of elasto-plastic large deformation problems 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we compare different numerical implementation algorithms for the rate type constitutive equation and present an integration scheme based on the physical meaning of the stress. Numerical implementation of various schemes is investigated in conjunction with the return mapping algorithm and the conditions to maintain plastic consistency. Jaumann and Truesdell rates are taken as the objective stress rates in the constitutive equation. An alternative numerical treatment for rate of deformation tensor Dij is presented and is shown to maintain incremental objectivity. Numerical examples included a single element under rigid body rotation, a necking bifurcation of a bar in tension and a punch indentation process. It is shown that the use of Truesdell stress rate with specific numerical integration procedure gives more accurate results than other procedures presented. 相似文献

Flow computations frequently require unfavourably meshes, as for example highly stretched elements in regions of boundary layers or distorted elements in deforming arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian meshes. Thus, the performance of a flow solver on such meshes is of great interest. The behaviour of finite elements with residual‐based stabilization for incompressible Newtonian flow on distorted meshes is considered here. We investigate the influence of the stabilization terms on the results obtained on distorted meshes by a number of numerical studies. The effect of different element length definitions within the elemental stabilization parameter is considered. Further, different variants of residual‐based stabilization are compared indicating that dropping the second derivatives from the stabilization operator, i.e. using a streamline upwind Petrov–Galerkin type of formulation yields better results in a variety of cases. A comparison of the performance of linear and quadratic elements reveals further that the inconsistency of linear elements equipped with residual‐based stabilization introduces significant errors on distorted meshes, while quadratic elements are almost unaffected by moderate mesh distortion. The aerodynamic characteristics of tandem cables of cable-stayed bridges have become an increasingly serious problem with increments in span length. In order to reduce the construction cost and maintenance of cables, tandem cables have been adopted for cable-stayed bridges. These cables, however, have aerodynamic response characteristics such as wake-galloping. Therefore, a method to suppress wake-galloping in tandem cables is required. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the wake-galloping phenomenon of tandem cables of cable-stayed bridges using numerical fluid flow analysis. The flow around the oscillating tandem circular cylinders modeled on tandem cables is calculated. The flow field is treated as an incompressible viscous flow. The Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method is employed to solve the flow field around the cylinders, and the three-step Taylor-Galerkin method, which is based on a fractional step finite element method, is adopted for discretization. 相似文献

Under natural conditions, wind turbines are inevitably eroded by the action of sand-wind flow. To further investigate the effects of dust drift on the erosion of the wind turbine blades in sand-wind environments, the effects of the wind velocity, particle diameter, and particle density on the erosion of wind turbine airfoils are studied, and the effects of the particle Stokes number on the airfoil erosion are discussed. The results show that, when the angle of attack(AOA) is 6.1°, there will be no erosion on the airfoil surface if the particle Stokes number is lower than 0.013 5, whereas erosion will occur if the particle Stokes number is higher than 0.015 1. Therefore, there exists a critical range for the particle Stokes number. When the particle Stokes number is higher than the maximum value in the critical range, airfoil erosion will occur. The result is further confirmed by changing the particle diameter, particle density, and inflow speed. It is shown that the erosion area on the airfoil and the maximum erosion rate are almost equal under the same particle Stokes number and AOA. The extent of airfoil erosion increases when the particle Stokes number increases, and the critical particle Stokes number increases when the AOA increases. Moreover, the geometric shape of the airfoil pressure surface greatly affects the airfoil erosion, especially at the curvature near the leading edge. 相似文献

A three-phase confocal elliptical cylinder model is proposed to analyze micromechanics of one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal (PQC) composites. Exact solutions of the phonon, phason, and electric fields are obtained by using the conformal mapping combined with the Laurent expansion technique when the model is subject to far-field anti-plane mechanical and in-plane electric loadings. The effective electroelastic constants of several different composites made up of PQC, quasicrystal (QC), and piezoelectric (PE) materials are predicted by the generalized self-consistent method. Numerical examples are conducted to show the effects of the volume fraction and the cross-sectional shape of inclusion (or fiber) on the effective electroelastic constants of these composites. Compared with other micromechanical methods, the generalized selfconsistent and Mori-Tanaka methods can predict the effective electroelastic constants of the composites consistently. 相似文献

推导了一种基于ALE(Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian,即任意的拉格朗日-欧拉)描述下的带有自由液面不可压液体与运动结构非线性耦合问题的一种有限元数值计算方法,在时间域上采用分步格式计算,这种方法与混合插值方法比较其优点是速度和压力可使用同阶线性插值,给数值计算带来很大方便,将所得到的方法应用到结构与TLD(调谐式(液体阻尼器)装置之间的耦合问题,数值计算结果验证了本文所推导的方法。 相似文献
