The equations of a holomorphic subspace in a complex Finsler space

In [Mu1] we underlined the motifs of holomorphic subspaces in a complex Finsler space: induced nonlinear connection, coupling connections, and the induced tangent and normal connections. In the present paper we investigate the equations of Gauss, H-and A-Codazzi, and Ricci equations of a holomorphic subspace. We deduce the link between the holomorphic curvatures of the Chern-Finsler connection and its induced tangent connection. Conditions for totally geodesic holomorphic subspaces are obtained. Separable anisotropic differential operators and applications

The nonlocal boundary value problems for anisotropic partial differential-operator equations with a dependent coefficients are studied. The principal parts of the appropriate generated differential operators are nonself-adjoint. Several conditions for the maximal regularity and the fredholmness in Banach-valued Lp-spaces of these problems are given. These results permit us to establish that the inverse of corresponding differential operators belongs to Schatten q-class. Some spectral properties of the operators are investigated. In applications, the nonlocal BVP's for quasielliptic partial differential equations and for systems of quasielliptic equations on cylindrical domain are studied.     

On the Patterson–Sullivan Measure for Geometrically Finite Groups Acting on Complex or Quaternionic Hyperbolic Space

The goal of this paper is to provide a tool, the Global Measure Formula, that will facilitate the study of the limit set of discrete geometrically finite groups of isometries of the rank one symmetric spaces. We consider the shadow of a ball from a fixed reference point onto the boundary, and prove a formula that describes the measure of the shadow in terms of the center of the shadowed ball, generalizing a result from real hyperbolic geometry.     

Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonians defined as quadratic forms

We study Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonians-self-adjoint operators describing a small quantum system interacting with a bosonic field. Using quadratic form techniques, we extend the results of Dereziński-Gérard and Gérard about the self-adjointness, the location of the essential spectrum and the existence of a ground state to a large class of Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonians.     

Banach-Saks property in Marcinkiewicz spaces

We catalogue all Marcinkiewicz function and sequence spaces with the Banach-Saks property and present necessary and sufficient conditions for a wide subclass of spaces to possess the p-Banach-Saks property, 1<p<∞. We apply our results to several open problems.     

On a model of electromagnetic field propagation in ferroelectric media

The Maxwell system in an anisotropic, inhomogeneous medium with non-linear memory effect produced by a Maxwell type system for the polarization is investigated under low regularity assumptions on data and domain. The particular form of memory in the system is motivated by a model for electromagnetic wave propagation in ferromagnetic materials suggested by Greenberg, MacCamy and Coffman [J.M. Greenberg, R.C. MacCamy, C.V. Coffman, On the long-time behavior of ferroelectric systems, Phys. D 134 (1999) 362-383]. To avoid unnecessary regularity requirements the problem is approached as a system of space-time operator equation in the framework of extrapolation spaces (Sobolev lattices), a theoretical framework developed in [R. Picard, Evolution equations as space-time operator equations, Math. Anal. Appl. 173 (2) (1993) 436-458; R. Picard, Evolution equations as operator equations in lattices of Hilbert spaces, Glasnik Mat. 35 (2000) 111-136]. A solution theory for a large class of ferromagnetic materials confined to an arbitrary open set (with suitably generalized boundary conditions) is obtained.     

Remarks on a theorem of Taskinen on spaces of continuous functions

We clarify and prove in a simpler way a result of Taskinen about symmetric operators on C(Kⁿ), K an uncountable metrizable compact space. To do this we prove that, for any compact space K and any n ∈ ?, the symmetric injective n–tensor product of C(K), , is complemented in C(B_C(K)*), a result of independent interest. The techniques we develop allow us to extend the result in several directions. We also show that the hypothesis of metrizability and uncountability cannot be removed.     

Lp[0,1]空间Müntz有理逼近的Jackson型估计

设Λ={λn}n∞=1为正的实数数列,且当n→∞时,有λn↘0.本文给出了当λn≤Mn-1/2,n=1,2,…,(其中M＞0为一正常数)时Müntz系统{xλn}的有理函数在Lp[0,1]空间的逼近速度,主要结论为Rn(f,Λ) Lp≤CMω(f,n-1/2)Lp,1≤p≤∞.     

BOUNDEDNESS OF FRACTIONAL INTEGRALS IN HARDY SPACES WITH NON-DOUBLING MEASURE - In Memory of Professor Sun Yongsheng

Let μ be a Borel measure on Rd which may be non doubling. The only condition that μ must satisfy is μ(Q) ≤ col(Q)n for any cube Q () Rd with sides parallel to the coordinate axes and for some fixed n with 0 ＜ n ≤ d. The purpose of this paper is to obtain a boundedness property of fractional integrals in Hardy spaces H1 (μ).     

Notes on symmetric g-functions

A number of generalized metric spaces have been defined or characterized in terms of g-functions. Symmetric g-functions are discussed by C. Good, D. Jennings and A. M. Mohamad. In this paper, some questions about symmetric g-functions are answered, particularly it is shown that every sym-wg-space is expandable.
