Support vector machines (SVMs), which are a kind of statistical learning methods, were applied in this research work to predict occupational accidents with success. In the first place, semi-parametric principal component analysis (SPPCA) was used in order to perform a dimensional reduction, but no satisfactory results were obtained. Next, a dimensional reduction was carried out using an innovative and intelligent computing regression algorithm known as multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) model with good results. The variables selected as important by the previous MARS model were taken as input variables for a SVM model. This SVM technique was able to classify, according to their working conditions, those workers that have suffered a work-related accident in the last 12 months and those that have not. SVM technique does not over-fit the experimental data and gives place to a better performance than back-propagation neural network models. Finally, the results and conclusions of this study are presented.  相似文献

Partially consonant belief functions (pcb), studied by Walley, are the only class of Dempster-Shafer belief functions that are consistent with the likelihood principle of statistics. Structurally, the set of foci of a pcb is partitioned into non-overlapping groups and within each group, foci are nested. The pcb class includes both probability function and Zadeh’s possibility function as special cases. This paper studies decision making under uncertainty described by pcb. We prove a representation theorem for preference relation over pcb lotteries to satisfy an axiomatic system that is similar in spirit to von Neumann and Morgenstern’s axioms of the linear utility theory. The closed-form expression of utility of a pcb lottery is a combination of linear utility for probabilistic lottery and two-component (binary) utility for possibilistic lottery. In our model, the uncertainty information, risk attitude and ambiguity attitude are separately represented. A tractable technique to extract ambiguity attitude from a decision maker behavior is also discussed.  相似文献

The chromatographic dimensionality was recently proposed as a measure of retention time spacing based on a power law (fractal) distribution. Using this model, a statistical overlap theory (SOT) for chromatographic peaks is developed that estimates the number of peak maxima as a function of the chromatographic dimension, saturation and scale. Power law models exhibit a threshold region whereby below a critical saturation value no loss of peak maxima due to peak fusion occurs as saturation increases. At moderate saturation, behavior is similar to the random (Poisson) peak model. At still higher saturation, the power law model shows loss of peaks nearly independent of the scale and dimension of the model. The physicochemical meaning of the power law scale parameter is discussed and shown to be equal to the Boltzmann-weighted free energy of transfer over the scale limits. The scale is discussed. Small scale range (small β) is shown to generate more uniform chromatograms. Large scale range chromatograms (large β) are shown to give occasional large excursions of retention times; this is a property of power laws where "wild" behavior is noted to occasionally occur. Both cases are shown to be useful depending on the chromatographic saturation. A scale-invariant model of the SOT shows very simple relationships between the fraction of peak maxima and the saturation, peak width and number of theoretical plates. These equations provide much insight into separations which follow power law statistics.  相似文献

Although a lot of information about soil parameter identification exists in literature, there is currently no algorithm who makes use both of state of the art identification methodologies and incorporating statistical analysis. In this paper a state of the art soil parameter identification method is presented including the calculation of its standard deviations and a proper weighting of the objective function. With this algorithm and a Bevameter with advanced sensor and actuator technology a test campaign is started to find a reliable soil preparation, which is applicable to a large planetary rover performance testbed. Furthermore, the preparation method has to be valid and stable for various types of dry, granular and frictional soils, typically used for planetary rover testing in space robotics, since the result of pre-tests show that the soil parameters are highly depending on the preparation. Besides preparation, the soil parameters are also influenced by different Bevameter test setup variables. Thus, the effect of the penetration velocity as well as the penetration tool geometry for pressure–sinkage tests on soil parameters is investigated. For shear tests the influence of the dimension of the shear ring is analysed as well as the variation of the grouser height, the number of the grousers and the increase of the rotational shear velocity. The results of the extensive test campaign are evaluated by the proposed identification algorithms.  相似文献

Geometry of affine immersions is the study of hypersurfaces that are invariant under affine transformations. As with the hypersurface theory on the Euclidean space, an affine immersion can induce a torsion-free affine connection and a (pseudo)-Riemannian metric on the hypersurface. Moreover, an affine immersion can induce a statistical manifold, which plays a central role in information geometry. Recently, a statistical manifold with a complex structure is actively studied since it connects information geometry and Kähler geometry. However, a holomorphic complex affine immersion cannot induce such a statistical manifold with a Kähler structure. In this paper, we introduce complex affine distributions, which are non-integrable generalizations of complex affine immersions. We then present the fundamental theorem for a complex affine distribution, and show that a complex affine distribution can induce a statistical manifold with a Kähler structure.  相似文献

An outstanding problem in statistical mechanics is the order parameter of the chiral Potts model. An elegant conjecture for this was made in 1983. It has since been successfully tested against series expansions, but there is as yet no proof of the conjecture. Here we show that if one makes a certain analyticity assumption similar to that used to derive the free energy, then one can indeed verify the conjecture. The method is based on the ‘‘broken rapidity line’’ approach pioneered by Jimbo et al. (J. Phys. A 26:2199--2210 (1993).).  相似文献

The third industrial fluid properties simulation challenge was held from March to September 2006. As in the previous two events contestants were challenged to predict specific, industrially relevant, properties of fluid systems. Their efforts were judged based on the agreement of the predicted values with previously unpublished experimental data (provided by researchers at ExxonMobil and DuPont). The focus of this contest was on the transferability of modeling methods—the ability to predict properties for materials that are chemically different, or at different state points, to those used in model parameterization and validation. Nine groups attempted to compute bubble point pressures for mixtures of 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) and ethanol at 343 K, given data for mixtures at 283 K, and given the pure component vapor pressures. They used a range of different techniques including statistical mechanical and molecular simulations-based approaches. Four of the groups were recognized for providing predictions that were significantly more accurate than would be obtained by extrapolation using the NRTL model (the standard engineering approach). Three groups undertook the more challenging “molecular transferability” problem, attempting to predict shear viscosities at two different state points for a range of diols and triols for which little experimental data was available.  相似文献

We describe the quantum theory and the photon statistics of self amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) in a high gain free electron laser (FEL) using Glauber's quantum theory of coherence. We generalize a previous theory by taking into account many-mode effects and the initiation process resulting from classical shot noise, quantum noise, an injected coherent field and coherent bunching. In particular, we define the concept of quantum SASE which is appropriate when the initial quantum fluctuations dominate over the classical shot noise. We also discuss the conditions for the observation. Quantum SASE is a new quantum phenomenon in which the single electron uncertainty fluctuations of the conjugate variables position and momentum produce exponential amplification of the vacuum field.  相似文献

We calculate the interfacial tension of theN-state chiral Potts model by solving the functional relations for the transfer matrices of the model with skewed boundary conditions. Our result is valid for the general physical model (with positive Boltzmann weights) and at all subcritical temperatures. The interfacial tension has been calculated previously for the superintegrable chiral Potts model with skewed boundary conditions. UsingZ-invariance, Baxter has argued that the interfacial tension of this model should be the same as the interfacial tension of the general physical model. We provide general formulae for the configurational exponents of an arbitrary polymer network connected to the surface of an arbitrary wedge of the two-dimensional plane, where the surface is allowed to assume a general mixture of boundary conditions on either side of the wedge. We report on a comprehensive study of a linear chain by exact enumeration, with various attachments of the walk's ends to the surface, in wedges of angles and , with general mixed boundary conditions.
