Let R be a ring with an endomorphism σ and F ∪ {0} the free monoid generated by U = {u 1,…, u t } with 0 added, and M a factor of F setting certain monomial in U to 0, enough so that, for some n, M n  = 0. In this article, we study various annihilator properties and a variety of conditions and related properties that the skew monoid ring R[M; σ] is inherited from R.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity, X(R) the set of all nonzero non-units of R and G(R) the group of all units of R. By considering left and right regular actions of G(R) on X(R), the following are investigated: (1) For a local ring R such that X(R) is a union of n distinct orbits under the left (or right) regular action of G(R) on X(R), if J n  ≠ 0 = J n+1 where J is the Jacobson radical of R, then the set of all the distinct ideals of R is exactly {R, J, J 2,…, J n , 0}, and each orbit under the left regular action is equal to the one under the right regular action. (2) Such a ring R is left (and right) duo ring. (3) For the full matrix ring S of n × n matrices over a commutative ring R, the number of orbits under left regular action of G(S) on X(S) is equal to the number of orbits under right regular action of G(S) on X(S); the result also holds for the ring of n × n upper triangular matrices over R.  相似文献

A ring R is called left P-coherent in case each principal left ideal of R is finitely presented. A left R-module M (resp. right R-module N) is called D-injective (resp. D-flat) if Ext1(G, M) = 0 (resp. Tor1(N, G) = 0) for every divisible left R-module G. It is shown that every left R-module over a left P-coherent ring R has a divisible cover; a left R-module M is D-injective if and only if M is the kernel of a divisible precover A → B with A injective; a finitely presented right R-module L over a left P-coherent ring R is D-flat if and only if L is the cokernel of a torsionfree preenvelope K → F with F flat. We also study the divisible and torsionfree dimensions of modules and rings. As applications, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings and PP rings are given.  相似文献

We give a Gröbner basis for the ideal of 2-minors of a 2 × n utiatrix of linear forms. The minimal free resolution of such an ideal is obtained in [4] when the corresponding Kronecker-Weierstrass normal form has no iiilpotent blocks. For the general case, using this result, the Grobner basis and the Eliahou-Kervaire resolution for stable monomial ideals, we obtain a free resolution with the expected regularity. For a specialization of the defining ideal of ordinary pinch points, as a special case of these ideals, we provide a minimal free resolution explicitly in terms of certain Koszul complex.  相似文献

A module M over a ring R is called a lifting module if every submodule A of M contains a direct summand K of M such that A/K is a small submodule of M/K (e.g., local modules are lifting). It is known that a (finite) direct sum of lifting modules need not be lifting. We prove that R is right Noetherian and indecomposable injective right R-modules are hollow if and only if every injective right R-module is a direct sum of lifting modules. We also discuss the case when an infinite direct sum of finitely generated modules containing its radical as a small submodule is lifting.  相似文献

We show that groupoid rings are separable over their ring of coefficients if and only if the groupoid is finite and the orders of the associated principal groups are invertible in the ring of coefficients. We use this to show that if we are given a finite groupoid, then the associated groupoid ring is semisimple (or hereditary) if and only if the ring of coefficients is semisimple (or hereditary) and the orders of the principal groups are invertible in the ring of coefficients. To this end, we extend parts of the theory of graded rings and modules from the group graded case to the category graded, and, hence, groupoid graded situation. In particular, we show that strongly groupoid graded rings are separable over their principal components if and only if the image of the trace map contains the identity.  相似文献

This article deals mainly with rings (with zerodivisors) in which regular Gaussian polynomials have locally principal contents. Precisely, we show that if (T,M) is a local ring which is not a field, D is a subring of T/M such that qf(D) = T/M, h: T → T/M is the canonical surjection and R = h ?1(D), then if T satisfies the property every regular Gaussian polynomial has locally principal content, then also R verifies the same property. We also show that if D is a Prüfer domain and T satisfies the property every Gaussian polynomial has locally principal content, then R satisfies the same property. The article includes a brief discussion of the scopes and limits of our result.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R with identity, the zero-divisor graph, Γ(R), is the graph with vertices the nonzero zero-divisors of R and edges between distinct vertices x and y whenever xy = 0. This article gives a proof that the radius of Γ(R) is 0, 1, or 2 if R is Noetherian. The center union {0} is shown to be a union of annihilator ideals if R is Artinian. The diameter of Γ(R) can be determined once the center is identified. If R is finite, then the median is shown to be a subset of the center. A dominating set of Γ(R) is constructed using elements of the center when R is Artinian. It is shown that for a finite ring R ? ?2 × F for some finite field F, the domination number of Γ(R) is equal to the number of distinct maximal ideals of R. Other results on the structure of Γ(R) are also presented.  相似文献
