Qualitative Theory and Identification of Dynamic System with One Degree of Freedom

Dynamic systems described by nonlinear differential equations of the second order are studied. It is assumed that certain preliminary information on the dissipative or elastic characteristics of systems is known. A new approach is demonstrated to obtaining full information on unknown or partially known characteristics of a system from measurements of not only displacements but also velocities and accelerations __________ Published in Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 41, No. 6, pp. 139–143, June 2005.     

Computation of the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with parameter dependent boundary conditions using the regularized sampling method

The purpose in this paper is to compute the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with quite general separated boundary conditions nonlinear in the eigenvalue parameter using the regularized sampling method, an improvement on the method based on Shannon sampling theory, which does not involve any multiple integration and provides higher order estimates of the eigenvalues at a very low cost. A few examples shall be presented to illustrate the power of the method and a comparison made with the the exact eigenvalues obtained as squares of the zeros of the exact characteristic functions.

Theoretical Description of the Third Order Parametric Wave Mixing in a Gas-Filled Capillary of Femto-Second Laser Pulse

The theoretical signal-pressure curves are calculated from approximate analytical solutions of the coupledequations describing the third order parametric wave mixing in a gas-filled capillary of femto-second laser pulses. Thecomparison with the corresponding experimental curves suggests that the following three factors exert important influ-ences on the degree of fitting between the theoretical and experimental results: the walk-off, the phase modulation, andthe third order harmonic of idler pulse.

On the Similarity between Volterra Operators and Transformation Operators for Integro-Differential Operators of Fractional Order

We establish the similarity between certain Volterra integral operators and the Riemann--Liouville fractional integration operator as well as the existence of a triangular transformation operator for integro-differential equations of fractional order. The results obtained are consistent with similar results for the case of integer order.     

Analysis and finite element simulations of a second‐order fluid model in a bounded domain

This article is concerned with the equations governing the steady motion of a viscoelastic incompressible second‐order fluid in a bounded domain. A new proof of existence and uniqueness of strong solutions is given. In addition, using appropriate finite element methods to approximate a coupled equivalent problem, sharp error estimates are obtained using a fixed point argument. The method is applied to the two‐dimensional lid‐driven cavity problem, at low Reynolds number and in a certain range of values of the viscoelastic parameters, to analyze the combined effects of inertia and viscoelasticity on the flow. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Medium-range structural order in liquid Ni20Al80 alloy: Experimental and molecular dynamics studies

In this Letter, structural properties of liquid Ni₂₀Al₈₀ have been studied through molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and results agree well with X-ray experiments. The prepeak in the structure factor manifests the existence of medium-range structural order (MRSO) in liquid Ni₂₀Al₈₀. Analyses in MRSO reveal the dominance of ideal icosahedra and defective icosahedra which, furthermore, form clusters and share common atoms.

优化路问题的代数方法—论动态规划（Ⅱ）

本文用同一思路求解多阶段有向图中三种优化路问题:最优路、N阶最优路及多指标Pareto优化路问题,它们都服从嘉量原理,都用同一个代数公式表达它们的嘉量,并可在同一种表格中进行计算,只是所在半域不同,以本文的方法讨论动态规划中一些离散决定型典型应用问题,其提法、建模思路以及求解过程都有可观的扩大与改善。
