Due to their high polarity and unique selectivity, cyanopropyl silicones are basic stationary phases for high resolution capillary gas chromatography. Different OH-terminated cyanopropyl silicones, containing a high cyanopropyl content, were synthesized and chromatographically evaluated. Special attention was paid to the degree of immobilization of the phases in FSOT columns. This report presents a facile approach for the low‐temperature synthesis of crystalline inorganic‐oxide composite hollow spheres by employing the bulk controlled synthesis of inorganic‐oxide nanocrystals with polymer spheres as templates. The sulfonated polystyrene gel layer can adsorb the target precursor and induce inorganic nanocrystals to grow on the template in situ. The crystalline phase and morphology of the composite shell is tunable. By simply adjusting the acidity of the titania sol, crystalline titania composite hollow spheres with tunable crystalline phases of anatase, rutile, or a mixture of both were achieved. The approach is general and has been extended to synthesize the representative perovskite oxide (barium and strontium titanate) composite hollow spheres. The traditional thermal treatment for crystallite transformation is not required, thus intact shells can be guaranteed. The combination of oxide properties such as high refractive index, high dielectric constant, and catalytic ability with the cavity of the hollow spheres is promising for applications such as opacifiers, photonic crystals, high‐κ‐gate dielectrics, and photocatalysis. 相似文献

The geometries of the title compounds were probed in solution, solid and gas states using spectroscopic methods, X-ray crystallography and quantum chemical techniques. The exclusive existence of the NH-4-thiones in solution (NMR and PCM-B3LYP(MP2)/6-31+G(d) calculations) and solid state (FT-IR and X-ray) is also corroborated by comparison of their spectroscopic data with those of the corresponding 2-aryl-1-methylquinoline-4(1H)-thione derivatives. The co-existence of the quinoline-4-thione and quinoline-4-thiol (4-mercaptoquinoline) isomers in the gas phase is confirmed by mass spectrometry and the preponderance of the 4-thiol is supported by quantum chemical techniques (PM3, MP2 and B3LYP). 相似文献

We introduced an approach to the ion chromatographic determination of common mono- and divalent cations including hydrogen ion and demonstrated the ability of a C30 column dynamically coated first with dodecylsulfate and then with 18-crown-6 ether to separate the cations by ion-exchange mechanism. Using an ethylenediamine solution containing a small concentration of 18-crown-6 ether and lithium dodecylsulfate at pH 6.2 as eluent, the cations were eluted in the order Li < Na+ < NH4+ < H+ < K+ < Mg2+ < Ca2+ with symmetrical peaks. The conductivity vs. concentration plots were linear about three orders of magnitude, from millimolar to micromolar; and the detection limits were all < 0.6 microM. Rainwater was analyzed directly using this ion chromatographic system with satisfactory results. 相似文献

a cation-exchange column (IonPac CS2) is studied as a function of mobile phase composition. The type and concentration of
complexing agent and of ionic strength modificators were evaluated. The charge of analytes were calculated using the classical
ion exchange approach to highlight the effect of eluent composition on retention. The comparative study enabled us to identify

Previous work on the LC separation of peptides had shown that macrocyclic glycopeptide stationary phases to be selective for
peptides of five to thirteen amino acids in length. In this work, the selectivity of the teicoplanin stationary phase is compared
to that of a C18 stationary phase for seven diastereomeric enkephalin peptides. The teicoplanin stationary phase separated
all seven diastereomeric enkephalin peptides in a single chromatographic run. The insertion of d-amino acids into the primary enkephalin sequence produced areas of hydrophobicity that influenced retention order on the
C18 stationary phase. However, analogous trends are not observed on the teicoplanin stationary phase, which is more polar
and structurally diverse. Optimization of the mobile phase and the use of a step-gradient for the enkephalin separation on
the teicoplanin stationary phase is discussed. Also, the selectivity of macrocyclic glycopeptide stationary phases for peptides
of 14, 28, 30, and 36 amino acids also is investigated and compared to separation on a C18 stationary phase. A method for
eluting peptides with multiple basic amino acids, which tend to be strongly retained on the macrocyclic glycopeptide stationary

Summary Pressure and temperature have significant influence on retention in HPLC. This study investigates the effect of pressure and
temperature on the retention behavior of aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene, ethyl benzene, butyl benzene, pentyl benzene) and
polar, acidic and basic samples (phenol, acetophenone, N,N-dimethyl aniline, benzophenone) on a reversed phase column. The
effect has been studied on non-porous, tetradecyl (C14) coated silica particles. We found that the adsorption-induced decrease of the partial molar volume of the solutes investigated
was between ΔV

=5–15 cm3 mol−1. The increment of the decrease of the partial molar volume due to the addition of one CH2 group, for the homologous series of the aromatic hydrocarbons is approximately ΔV

A novel monolithic capillary column (530 microm i.d.) was prepared for capillary liquid chromatography (CLC) by in situ copolymerization of octyl methacrylate (MAOE) and ethylene dimethacrylate (EDMA) in the presence of a porogen solvent containing 1-propanol, 1,4-butanediol, and water with azobisisobutyronitrile as the initiator. The influences of the contents of the porogen solvent, EDMA and the various concentration ratios of 1-propanol to 1,4-butanediol in the polymerization mixture on the morphology, porosity, globule size, stability and column efficiency were investigated. The morphology and pore size distribution of monolithic capillary columns were characterized by SEM and mercury intrusion porosimetry, respectively. Chromatographic evaluations of the columns were performed under CLC mode. The results showed that good permeability and stability can be obtained under optimal experimental conditions. The separation results of some acid, neutral and basic analytes demonstrated the hydrophobicity and low affinity to basic analytes of the new column. Three metal ions, i.e. Mg(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were also separated under ion-pair mode on the new monolithic capillary column and the results were acceptable. 相似文献

(1R,4R)-2-(4-Hydroxybenzylidene)- and (1R,4R)-2-(4"-hydroxybiphenyl-4-yl)methylene-p-menthan-3-ones were synthesized by condensation of (–)-menthone with O-tetrahydropyran-2-yl derivatives of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4"-hydroxy-4-formylbiphenyl, respectively, in a DMSO—base medium followed by the removal of the protective group. The reactions of these hydroxy derivatives with 4-alkylbenzoic, 4-alkyloxybenzoic, trans-4-alkylcyclohexane-4-carboxylic, and 4"-alkylbiphenyl-4-carboxylic acids afforded three series of new chiral esters. Compounds containing the arylidene moiety with three benzene rings were found to exhibit liquid-crystalline properties. The characteristic features of these compounds are discussed based on the results of studies by polarizing microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and small-angle X-ray scattering. It was found that the mesomorphic compounds under study can form a smectic A mesophase, twist grain boundary mesophases (TGBA), and blue phases in a wide temperature range. Upon dissolution of certain of chiral compounds in 4"-cyano-4-pentylbiphenyl, a rather high twisting power and the thermal stabilizing effect on mesophases were observed. 相似文献
