High temperature corrosion behaviour of M(Co,Ni)CrAIY-coatings on high temperature materials-microanalytical investigations

In our former investigations, the phenomenon high temperature corrosion (HTC) was described exemplarily on selected materialcoating combinations for blades of stationary gas turbines, mainly in the temperature region of up to 750° C. To answer the question, in which manner higher gas inlet and/or higher material surface temperature would influence the HTC behaviour, a special analytical technique—the integral layer profile analysis—was introduced to ameliorate concentration profile methods. By examining IN 738 LC specimens with CoCrAlY plasma spray coating, stressed by hot gas at 900° C, the limits of this system are shown by explaining the corrosion mechanism; the method is also used for other systems, e.g. U 520 with NiCrAlY coating at 750° C.     

Polymeric organosilicon systems. XVII. Synthesis and photochemical and conducting properties of poly[o-and m-(disilanylene)phenylene]s

Poly[o-(tetramethyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2a ), poly[o-(1,2-dimethyldiphenyldisilanylene)-phenylene] ( 2b ), poly[m-(tetramethyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2c ), and poly[m-(1,2-dimethyldiphenyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2d ) were prepared by the sodium condensation reaction of the corresponding 1,2-and 1,3-bis (chlorosilyl)benzenes in toluene. Irradiation of thin films of 2a-2d in air resulted in a rapid decrease of absorption maxima in the ultraviolet region. The photolysis of 2b and 2d in benzene afforded photodegradation products with low molecular weights. When thin films of 2b and 2d were doped with antimony pentafluoride vapor, films which have conductivities of semi-conductor level were obtained. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Conformational behaviour of 2,2′-bipyrrole

The rotational potential around the interannular bond in 2,2-bipyrrole has been calculated making use of standard minimal STO-3G and split valence 4-31G basis sets. Geometrical optimization concerning the most significant interannular internal parameters has been performed with both basis sets. The trans conformer is predicted to be more stable than the cis. The minimal basis set predicts the existence of a cisoid-gauche minimum which after limited optimization becomes very shallow and it seems to be an artifact of the rigid rotor approximation. At 4-31G level, both the trans and cis conformers represent maxima in the potential curve and two gauche minima appear at =46.0° and =147.6°, the latter being the absolute minimum. The absolute maximum of the potential curve corresponds to the cis conformer.     

A new approach to 6-deoxy-D-allofuranose- and 6-deoxy-L-talofuranose derivatives from 1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene α-D-glucofuranose

3-O-Acetyl-1,2-O-isopropylidene--D-allofuranose (2 b) was prepared from 1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene--D-allofuranose (1 b). Treatment of2 b with triphenylphosphine-diethyl azodicarboxylate afforded regio- and stereospecifically the 5,6-epoxy--D-allo derivative (3). The other diastereomeric compound, 5,6-epoxy-1,2-O-isopropylidene--L-talofuranose (6) was also prepared stereoselectively from2 b via the intermediates5 a and5 b. The epoxy sugars3 and6 were converted with lithium aluminum hydride to the corresponding 6-deoxy-1,2-O-isopropylidene--D-allofuranose (4 a) and --L-talofuranose (7 a) derivatives. Hydrolysis of4 a and7 a afforded 6-deoxy-D-allose and 6-deoxy-L-talose, respectively. The corresponding 3,5-di-O-acetyl- (4 b and7 b) and the 3,5-O-(tetraisopropyldisiloxane-1,3-diyl) derivatives (4 c and7 c) are also described. Selective removal of the isopropylidene group and subsequent acetylation offers a convenient route to prepare sugar derivatives containing furanose ring, like8 b, as a suitable precursor for nucleoside analogs.Herrn Prof. Dr.K. Synthetische und NMR-spektroskopische Untersuchungen der Benzylaminaddition an N-Maleyl-aminosäurederivate

Summary During the addition of amines to maleylamino acids in general -amino derivatives are formed. In order to change the reactivity within the vinylogous maleyl system we introduced the -benzylester group into the starting compound N-(cis--carboxyacryloyl)-phenylalanine methylester1. The obtained benzylester2 is adding benzylamine in -position yielding N-benzyl--aspartyl(-benzyl)-phenylalanine methylester4. The addition reaction was investigated by¹H-NMR-spectroscopy. The structures of the compounds have been confirmed by elemental analysis, IR,¹H-NMR and¹³C-NMR spectroscopy.

     

A Convenient Synthesis of Phosphorines and Phospholidins by <Emphasis Type="Italic">Lawesson</Emphasis>’s Reagent and Microwave Irradiation

Summary. A new and simple method for the synthesis of 1,3,2-diazaphosphorines and 1,3,2-oxazaphosphorine was developed based on the reactions of Lawessons reagent with -aminopropionitriles and -hydroxypropionitrile. In addition, a rapid and facile synthesis of 1,3,2-diazaphospholidin-4-ones by the reaction of P(NEt₂)₃ with hindered diamino substrates under microwave irradiation was also achieved. The prepared phosphorines show herbicidal activity to some extent in the preliminary bioassays.     

Polyfluorinated hydrazones in organic syntheses

The reaction of poly- and perfluoroaldehyde hydrazones with hydrazine hydrate was studied. A new preparative method for obtaining the hitherto inaccessibleN,N-unsubstituted bis-hydrazones of polyfluorinated -oxoaldehydes was developed based on this reaction.For Part 2, seeIzv. Akad. Phytoecdysteroids of Plants of the Silene Genus. 2-Deoxyecdysterone-25-Acetate from Silene wallichiana

The new ecdysteroid 2-deoxyecdysterone-25-acetate was isolated from roots of Silene wallichiana Klotzsch.     

Hydration scheme of uracil and cytosine

The comparison of a pure electrostatic approximation and complete supermolecule SCF ab initio computations on the hydration scheme of uracil and cytosine shows that the electrostatic procedure is capable to reproduce the general aspects of the results of the supermolecule treatment provided that different distances of shortest approach be adopted for the distances between the oxygen of water and the nitrogen of NH₂ or NH groups or the oxygen of C-O groups on the one hand and the oxygen of water and pyridine-type nitrogens on the other hand.     

Determination of diethanolamine or <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-methyldiethanolamine in high ammonium concentration matrices by capillary electrophoresis with indirect UV detection: application to the analysis of refinery process waters

Alkanolamines such as diethanolamine (DEA) and N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) are used in desulfurization processes in crude oil refineries. These compounds may be found in process waters following an accidental contamination. The analysis of alkanolamines in refinery process waters is very difficult due to the high ammonium concentration of the samples. This paper describes a method for the determination of DEA in high ammonium concentration refinery process waters by using capillary electrophoresis (CE) with indirect UV detection. The same method can be used for the determination of MDEA. Best results were achieved with a background electrolyte (BGE) comprising 10 mM histidine adjusted to pH 5.0 with acetic acid. The development of this electrolyte and the analytical performances are discussed. The quantification was performed by using internal standardization, by which triethanolamine (TEA) was used as internal standard. A matrix effect due to the high ammonium content has been highlighted and standard addition was therefore used. The developed method was characterized in terms of repeatability of migration times and corrected peak areas, linearity, and accuracy. Limits of detection (LODs) and quantification (LOQs) obtained were 0.2 and 0.7 ppm, respectively. The CE method was applied to the determination of DEA or MDEA in refinery process waters spiked with known amounts of analytes and it gave excellent results, since uncertainties obtained were 8 and 5%, respectively.
