A fast living radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) proceeded with the (MMA)2? Cl/Ru(Ind)Cl(PPh3)2 initiating system in the presence of n‐Bu2NH as an additive [where (MMA)2? Cl is dimethyl 2‐chloro‐2,4,4‐trimethyl glutarate]. The polymerization reached 94% conversion in 5 h to give polymers with controlled number‐average molecular weights (Mn's) in direct proportion to the monomer conversion and narrow molecular weight distributions [MWDs; weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) ≤ 1.2]. A poly(methyl methacrylate) with a high molecular weight (Mn ~ 105) and narrow MWD (Mw/Mn ≤ 1.2) was obtained with the system within 10 h. A similarly fast but slightly slower living radical polymerization was possible with n‐Bu3N, whereas n‐BuNH2 resulted in a very fast (93% conversion in 2.5 h) and uncontrolled polymerization. These added amines increased the catalytic activity through some interaction such as coordination to the ruthenium center. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The title polymeric complex of Cu(II) and Cd(II) bridged by thiocyanate, Cu(en)2[Cd(SCN)3]2, has been prepared and its structure determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. The crystal structure reveals that the Cu(II) atom is in an elongated octahedral coordination formed by two SCN– anions and two en molecules. The Cd(II) atom is in a distorted octahedral coordination formed by six bridging SCN– anions. Two different bridging thiocyanate anions exist in the complex. Both 1,1--SCN– and 1,3--SCN– anion act a role of bridge ligand and link Cu(II), Cd(II) atoms, and adjacent Cd(II). Cd(II) atoms form the three-dimensional (3-D) network polymeric structure. Conductometric titration of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (polyNIPAM) with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) gave two apparent transitions labeled C1 and C2. The C1 transition was independent of polyNIPAM concentration in the 0.05–0.3 wt % range, whereas C2 was proportional to the polymer concentration. C1 corresponded to the onset of binding of surfactant with polymer. Arguments based on a simple mass action model for micellization are presented to show that C2, the second transition, is not due to any simple explanation such as being the point above which only free micelles are formed with surfactant addition. The cloud point of polyNIPAM increased with the amount of bound surfactant. Two nickel (imidazole) complexes, Ni(im)6Cl2·4H2O (1) and Ni(im)6(NO3)2 (2) (im=imidazole) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, TG and single crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1 with a=8.800(6) Å, b=9.081(6) Å, c=10.565(7) Å, =75.058(9)°, β=83.143(8)°, γ=61.722(8)°, V=718.3(8) Å3, Z=1 and R1 (wR2)=0.0469 (0.1497). 2 crystallizes in the trigonal space group R-3 with a=12.370(6) Å, b=12.370(6) Å, c=14.782(14) Å, =90.00°, β=90.00°, γ=120.00°, V=1959(2) Å3, Z=3 and R1 (wR2)=0.0358 (0.0955). 1 and 2 exhibit different supramolecular network due to their different counter anions and different hydrogen bonding connection. In compound 1, [Ni(im)6]2+ cation and counter anions Cl− alternatively array in an ABAB fashion via N–HCl hydrogen bonding. Polyethylenes with bimodal molecular weight distribution (MWD) were synthesized by 2,6-bis(imino)pyridyl complexes of Fe(II) combined with different activators, which were prepared from alkylaluminium. It is found that the molecular weight (MW) and MWD was influenced by not only iron complexes but activators as well. The activator plays key important role in determination of the MW and MWD of final polymer and the MWD shape could be regulated by selection of various activators and polymerization conditions. The study on the variation of the MWD with the polymerization time and fitting of bimodal MWD with two Flory distributions suggests that bimodal MWD is caused by chain transfer reaction to activator or two active sites. 相似文献

Abstract A biocompatible zinc (II) complex based on a tetradentate N,N,O,O-type salen ligand was synthesized, characterized and used for the solvent-free ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of L-lactide in bulk at 180?°C to prepare high molecular weight poly(L-lactide) (Mn : 82,600?Da; Mw : 140,000?Da; PDI: 1.70). Poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) was characterized using FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, GPC, TGA, DSC, WAXD, and MALDI-ToF. Kinetic measurement was carried out and first-order behavior to monomer was observed. The k app was found as 6?±?0.001?×?10?4?s?1. The biocompatibility of the PLLA was confirmed by in vitro cytotoxicity against NIH/3T3 fibroblast cell line and can be used in biomedical applications. 相似文献

The title mononuclear Schiff base nickel(Ⅱ) complex [Ni(C11H14Br2N2O)2(H2O)2]· 2NO3·2C2H3N was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis,IR spectrum,and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic system,space group P21/n with a=15.534(2),b=7.647(1),c=16.435(2),β=103.252(2)o,V=1900.3(4)3,Z=2,Dc=1.750 g/cm3,Mr=1000.99,λ(MoKα)=0.71073,μ=4.776 mm-1,F(000)=996,the final R=0.0368 and wR=0.0724. A total of 3988 unique reflections were collected,of which 2764 with I > 2σ(I) were observed. The complex consists of a mononuclear [Ni(C11H14Br2N2O)2(H2O)2]2+ cation,two nitrate anions and two acetonitrile molecules. The Ni atom,lying on the inversion centre,is six-coordinated by two Schiff bases and two water molecules to assume an octahedral coordination geometry. The molecules in the crystal are linked through intermolecular hydrogen bonds of N–H…O,N–H…Br,O–H…O,O–H…N and C–H…O to form layers. 相似文献
