We consider the varieties of lattice ordered groups with the identity of commutation of the nth powers of elements. We establish that every such l-variety with n=pq, where p and q are distinct prime numbers, has a finite basis of identities.     

Temperature factor effect on the structure of the separated flow within a supersonic gas stream

The effect of the temperature factor, that is, the ratio of the body temperature to the freestream stagnation temperature, on the structure of the separated flow formed in the presence of a concave corner in a supersonic stream is studied. The strong influence of the temperature factor on the separation zone length and the flow-generated aerodynamic characteristics is established. It is shown that for fairly large deflection angles this flow cannot be described by free interaction, or triple deck, theory.     

Orientational Ordering of the Near-Surface Layers of Nitrobenzene

Two types of absorption centers, one being related to monomers and the other to dimers, have been revealed by the method of statistical analysis of the normalized absorption spectra of a superthin interlayer of nitrobenzene of variable thickness formed on activated surfaces of quartz and barium fluoride and measured for different thicknesses of the interlayer. On a decrease in the interlayer thickness the concentration of dimers increases.

The modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method for the coupled system of fluid dynamics in porous media and its analysis

For the coupled system of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media, the modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method applicable to parallel arithmetic is put forward and two‐dimensional and three‐dimensional schemes are used to form a complete set. Some techniques, such as calculus of variations, energy method, piecewise biquadratic interpolation, multiplicative commutation rule of difference operators, decomposition of high order difference operators and prior estimates are adopted. Optimal order estimates in L² norm are derived to determine the error in the approximate solution. This method has already been applied to the numerical simulation of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Applications of electronic speckle interferometry (ESI) techniques for spacecraft structural components

Laser-based electronic speckle interferometry (ESI) techniques, viz., electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) and electronic speckle shearographic interferometry (ESSI) are used for testing of spacecraft structural components. The combined ESPI and ESSI system developed in house was successfully used for the non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of honeycomb sandwich panels and propellant tanks of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Debonds between face sheet and the honeycomb core were identified using (i) thermal and (ii) dual vacuum stressing methods. On-line NDE of the propellant tanks under internal pressure loading for identification of the minute cracks and thickness reduction areas were successfully implemented by ESI.     

Polarization Sensitive Spectral Interferometric Optical Coherence Tomography for Biological Samples

A spectral interferometric optical coherence tomography (OCT) system which has polarization sensitivity is developed. This system reduces the mechanical scanning dimension by employing the principle of spectral interferometry, and measures a two dimensional cross-sectional image of biological tissue with one dimensional mechanical scanning. Sixteen OCT images with different polarization conditions are measured, and two dimensional distributions of each element of the Müller matrix of a sample to be measured are calculated.     

基于积分方法的二维平行剪切层声远场预测

本文采用二维Ffowcs Williams＆Hawkings(FW-H)方程对平行剪切层远声场辐射特性进行了研究。近流场时间精确数据通过计算气动声学(Computational Aeroacoustics,CAA)技术数值模拟获得,声远场信息则通过FW-H方程对近流场内的可穿透积分面进行积分获得。该方法首先采用具有解析解的涡/尾缘干涉问题进行了校核,进一步采用CAA/FW-H匹配技术对二维平行剪切层声辐射问题进行了预测,计算结果表明,积分解与计算域内的CAA数值解吻合较好。     

胶束薄层色谱法测定食品及药用胶囊中的合成食用色素

在聚酰胶片上以13%SDBS(十二烷基苯磺酸钠)+7%Triton X-100〔聚乙二醇-对-(1.1,3,3-四甲基)丁基苯基醚〕+(2+3)氨水(1+5+1)为展开剂,用胶束薄层色谱法分离和测定了柠檬黄、亮蓝、苋菜红、胭脂红和赤藓红。测定波长分别为440、632、535、525和528 nm,线性范围分别为0.1～2、0.05～1、0.05～1、0.05～1和0.05～1μg/斑点。方法用于测定软饮料糖果及药用胶囊中的合成色素,获得了满意的结果。此外,还对展开剂的最佳组成进行了单纯形法优化。
