In Europe, the EC-funded Thematic Network Speciation 21 was instrumental in disseminating the existing knowledge about chemical speciation of trace elements. It created a forum in which analytical chemists working in method development were mixed with potential users from industry and representatives of legislative bodies. This endeavour is continuing in the currently established European Virtual Institute for Speciation Analysis (EVISA). Although there already exists substantial know-how in Europe for the speciation of a number of substances, such as organo-arsenic, organo-tin and organo-mercury compounds, to name just these three groups, there is an urgent need to enforce the analytical potential in speciation analysis on a much wider scope of compounds capable of providing data of a suitable quality. The ensuing need for quality assurance of the analytical procedures requires the analysis of representative reference materials, certified for the relevant species. Last but not least, where applicable, the European-wide legislation should be adapted to focus on toxic species of the elements, rather than the total element.Presented at BERM-9—Ninth International Symposium on Biological and Environmental Reference Materials, June 15–19, 2003, Berlin, Germany. By integrating porosity with electrical or optical properties, microporous chalcogenides may have unique applications. Here we review recent advances and discuss concepts in the synthesis and crystal structure of tetrahedral clusters and their frameworks. These chalcogenides can be viewed as trivalent metal chalcogenides doped with tetra-, di-, or monovalent metal cations. Low-valent cations help to increase the cluster size, while high-valent cations have the opposite effect. 相似文献

Using 1,5-bis-(2-trichlorosilylethyl)-2,4-dimethyl benzene, we have obtained porous organosilica materials containing 1.5 to 100 mole % 1,5-bis-(2-ethyl)-2,4-dimethyl benzene bridging groups. We have used X-ray phase analysis, adsorption, Fourier transform IR (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and temperature-programmed desorption mass spectrometry methods to study their structure and composition. A new method involving concurrent solid-phase microextraction combined with continuous hydrodistillation of essential oil was developed. This new methodology allowed for the detection by GC-MS of very small amounts of a diagnostic peak for the authentication of Ephedra sinica, in a short period of time and using only small sample sizes. This diagnostic peak was identified as 4-vinylanisole, and elucidated from the chromatographic profile allowed for the identification of a sample as E. sinica among other species investigated in this study. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report on using continuous solid-phase microextraction coupled to hydrodistillation for the investigation of essential oil components, and the first report of 4-vinylanisole as a marker compound for E. sinica. A procedure for numerical investigation of nonaxisymmetric temperature fields and the elastic stress-strain state of laminated rotational bodies of cylindrically and rectilinearly orthotropic materials under nonisothermal loading is proposed. The deformation of orthotropic materials is described by the equations of anisotropic elasticity theory. The equations of state are written in the form of Hookes law for homogeneous materials, with additional terms which take into account the thermal deformation, changes in the mechanical properties of materials in the circumferential direction, and their dependence on temperature. A semianalytic finite-element method in combination with the method of successive approximations is used. An algorithm for numerical solution of the corresponding nonlinear boundary problem is elaborated, which is realized as a package of applied FORTRAN programs. Si基高效发光与受激光发射是Si基光子学突破性发展的关键课题,它的实现对Si基微电子学的发展有深远的重大意义.由于受到天然Si材料间接带能带结构的限制,Si材料的发光效率极低,更谈不上可实现受激光发射,人工改性就成为当代研究、开拓的主要途径.新的Si基直接带体材料(如β-FeSi2等)的探索,Ge/Si量子阱、超晶格、量子点的能带工程介观改性,子带发光跃迁的探索,异类元素插入短周期超晶格中的化学键改性,以及SiO2高浓度nc-Si的生成和高激活度稀土离子的掺入发光等已开展了多途径的研究,不同程度上取得了重要的进展,一种MIS结构电子隧道注入高效发光器件已在SiO2:RE MOS结构中实现.运用激光器件物理的深入设计和新的器件技术的引入,可以预计本世纪初叶,对实现Si基激光器的奢望将会成为现实,无疑它对Si基光子学、Si基集成光电子学乃至信息高科技的发展将作出历史性的巨大贡献. 相似文献

Some selective cold plasma processing modify specific surface properties of textile polymeric materials such as their dyeability,
wettability and hydrorepellence. To correlate the sample surface changes with the acquired surface properties allows one to
obtain information on the chemical and physical processing involved in plasma treatment. In this work, atomic force microscopy
(AFM) has been applied to investigate the morphological and topographical surface modifications induced by RF cold plasma
processing of poly(ethyleneterephthalate) (PET) fabrics. Rms surface roughness and surface area of the samples are measured
before and after the treatments. The morphology changes have been analysed as a function of the treatment time and air gas
pressure. Measurements have been performed also using plasmas produced by different gases such as He, Ar, SF6 and CF4. The PET shows different behaviour with different gas plasmas. In the case of air, He and Ar gases the sample surface modifications
seem to be mainly due to etching effects, while the fluorine atoms grafting probably is responsible for surface rearrangement
process using SF6 and CF4 gases. As a consequence different surface properties are produced in the plasma treated samples.

The dielectric properties and loss of Bi1.5ZnSb1.5O7 a poor-semiconducting ceramic were investigated by impedance spectroscopy, in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 13 MHz. Electric measurements were performed from 100 to 700 °C. Pyrochlore type phase was synthesized by the polymeric precursor method. Dense ceramic with 97% of the theoretical density was prepared by sintering via constant heating rate. The dielectric permittivity dependence as a function of frequency and temperature showed a strong dispersion at frequency lower than 10 kHz. The losses exhibit slight dependence with the frequency at low temperatures presenting a strong increase at temperatures higher than 400 °C. A decrease of the loss magnitude occurs with increasing frequency. Relaxation times were extracted using the dielectric functions Z″(ω) and M″(ω). The plots of the relaxation times τZ′ and τM″ as a function of temperature follow the Arrhenius law, where a single slope is observed with activation energy values equal to 1.38 and 1.37 eV, respectively. 相似文献

The current situation in the pharmaceutical industry is discussed, when the traceability of measurement (analytical) results to certified values of pharmacopoeial reference standards is required, without evaluating their uncertainties. It is shown that the evaluation of measurement uncertainty is necessary for understanding the level of confidence of the analytical results and their comparability, particularly during preparation and characterisation of the reference standards.Papers published in this section do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Editors, the Editorial Board and the Publisher.
