Novel magnesium fluorides have been prepared by a new fluorolytic sol–gel synthesis for fluoride materials based on aqueous HF. By changing the amount of water at constant stoichiometric amount of HF, it is possible to tune the surface acidity of the resulting partly hydroxylated magnesium fluorides. These materials possess medium‐strength Lewis acid sites and, by increasing the amount of water, Brønsted acid sites as well. Magnesium hydroxyl groups normally have a basic nature and only with this new synthetic route is it possible to create Brønsted acidic magnesium hydroxyl groups. XRD, MAS NMR, TEM, thermal analysis, and elemental analysis have been applied to study the structure, composition, and thermal behaviour of the bulk materials. XPS measurements, FTIR with probe molecules, and the determination of N2/Ar adsorption–desorption isotherms have been carried out to investigate the surface properties. Furthermore, activity data have indicated that the tuning of the acidic properties makes these materials versatile catalysts for different classes of reactions, such as the synthesis of (all‐rac)‐[α]‐tocopherol through the condensation of 2,3,6‐trimethylhydroquinone (TMHQ) with isophytol (IP).  相似文献

Fat‐soluble vitamins play a pivotal role in the progression of atherosclerosis and the development of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, plasma monitoring of their concentrations may be useful in the diagnosis of these disorders as well as in the process of treatment. The study aimed to develop and validate an HPLC–MS/MS method for determination of retinol, α‐tocopherol, 25‐hydroxyvitamin D2 and 25‐hydroxyvitamin D3 in plasma of patients with cardiovascular disease. The analytes were separated on an HPLC Kinetex F5 column via gradient elution with water and methanol, both containing 0.1% (v/v) formic acid. Detection of the analytes was performed on a triple‐quadrupole MS with multiple reaction monitoring via electrospray ionization. The analytes were isolated from plasma samples with liquid–liquid extraction using hexane. Linearity of the analyte calibration curves was confirmed in the ranges 0.02–2 μg/mL for retinol, 0.5–20 μg/mL for α‐tocopherol, 5–100 ng/mL for 25‐hydroxyvitamin D2 and 2–100 ng/mL for 25‐hydroxyvitamin D3. Intra‐ and inter‐assay precision and accuracy of the method were satisfactory. Short‐ and long‐term stabilities of the analytes were determined. The HPLC‐MS/MS method was applied for the determination of the above fat‐soluble vitamin concentrations in patient plasma as potential markers of the cardiovascular disease progression.  相似文献

A rapid method was developed to determine both types of vitamins in Rhodiola imbricata root for the accurate quantification of free vitamin forms. Rapid resolution liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (RRLC–MS/MS) with electrospray ionization (ESI) source operating in multiple reactions monitoring (MRM) mode was optimized for the sequential analysis of nine water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, two B3 vitamins, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12) and six fat-soluble vitamins (A, E, D2, D3, K1, and K2). Both types of vitamins were separated by ion-suppression reversed-phase liquid chromatography with gradient elution within 30 min and detected in positive ion mode. Deviations in the intra- and inter-day precision were always below 0.6% and 0.3% for recoveries and retention time. Intra- and inter-day relative standard deviation (RSD) values of retention time for water- and fat-soluble vitamin were ranged between 0.02–0.20% and 0.01–0.15%, respectively. The mean recoveries were ranged between 88.95 and 107.07%. Sensitivity and specificity of this method allowed the limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantitation (LOQ) of the analytes at ppb levels. The linear range was achieved for fat- and water-soluble vitamins at 100–1000 ppb and 10–100 ppb. Vitamin B-complex and vitamin E were detected as the principle vitamins in the root of this adaptogen which would be of great interest to develop novel foods from the Indian trans-Himalaya.  相似文献

Electrocatalytic processes can take place either homogeneously in a single liquid phase or heterogeneously at the liquid-liquid interface formed in emulsions. This Article addresses the question as to whether a change in rate and/or mechanism can occur between the two possibilities. Specifically, cyclic voltammetry and electrosynthetic experiments are used to demonstrate that for the vitamin B12 mediated reduction of vicinal dibromides producing olefins, electric field effects likely operate at the liquid-liquid interface which can change the populations of different conformers relative to the single homogeneous-phase experiment, leading to significant changes in rate.  相似文献

Biopharmaceutical production takes place in complex processes which should be thoroughly understood. Therefore, the iConsensus project focuses on developing a monitoring platform integrating several process analytical technology tools for integrated, automated monitoring of the biopharmaceutical process. Water-soluble vitamin monitoring using (microchip) capillary electrophoresis (CE) is part of this platform. This work comprises the development of conventional CE methods as the first part towards integrated vitamin monitoring. The vitamins were divided based on their physical–chemical properties to develop two robust methods. Previously, a method for the analysis of cationic vitamins (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, pyridoxamine, thiamine and nicotinamide) in cell culture medium was developed. This work focused on the development of a micellar electrokinetic chromatography method for anionic and neutral vitamins (riboflavin, d -calcium pantothenate, biotin, folic acid, cyanocobalamin and ascorbic acid). By employing multivariate design of experiments, the background electrolyte (BGE) could be optimised within one experiment testing only 11 BGEs. The optimised BGE conditions were 200 mM borate with 77 mM sodium dodecyl sulphate at a pH of 8.6. Using this BGE, all above-mentioned cationic, anionic and neutral vitamins could be separated in clean samples. In cell culture medium, most anionic and neutral vitamins could be separated. Combining the two methods allows for analysis of cationic, anionic and neutral vitamins in cell culture medium samples. The next step towards integrated vitamin monitoring includes transfer to microchip CE. Due to the lack of fast and reliable methods for vitamin monitoring, the developed capillary methods could be valuable as stand-alone at-line process analytical technology solutions as well.  相似文献
