Summary Silica-supported cadmium sulfide, highly active in hydrogen photogeneration from water-methanol-KOH solution, was prepared by sulfidation of Cd2+-impregnated SiO2. The samples consisted of colloidal-size hexagonal crystallites of CdS on amorphous SiO2. A blue shift of a light absorption edge was observed for the samples with lower CdS content.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde Cadmiumsulfid auf Kieselgel durch Sulfidierung von Cd2+-imprägniertem SiO2 hergestellt, das eine außerordentliche Aktivität bei der Wasserstoff-Photogenerierung aus Wasser-Methanol-KOH-Lösungen zeigte. Der Katalysator bestand aus hexagonalen CdS-Kristalliten von kolloidalen Ausmaßen auf amorphem SiO2. An Proben mit geringerem CdS-Gehalt wurde eine Blauverschiebung der Lichtabsorption an der Absorptionskante beobachtet.相似文献

The photochemical behavior of solutions containing a mixture of CdS and CdTe nanoparticles under pulsed irradiation conditions was investigated. It was shown that electron transfer from the CdS particles to the CdTe nanoparticles occurs during the photoexcitation of such systems. The effectiveness of the process is increased with increase in the size of the CdTe nanoparticles. Such behavior is due to decrease in the potential of the CdTe conduction band with increase in the size of the nanoparticles as a result of the appearance of quantum-dimensional effects. 相似文献

Three poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfide)s with oxygen to sulfur ratios of 2/1, 2/2, and 1/2 were prepared by phase-transfer catalyzed polycondensations of (1) sodium sulfide and 1,2-bis (2-chloroethoxy)ethane, (2) 1,2-ethanedithiol and 1,2-bis(2-chloroethoxy)ethane, and (3) 1,2-ethanedithiol and 2-chloroethyl ether, respectively. A buffered solution with pH between the pKa of the monothiol (RSH) and the pKa2 of the dithiol (HS–R–SH), or H2S, was needed to obtain high molecular weight polymers, which suggests that nucleophiles transfer and react as monoanions rather than dianions. These poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfide)s were oxidized completely to poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfone)s using 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid as oxidant. Both the final polymers and the precursors have regular sequenced structures and are semicrystalline. Iron interference in the spectrophotometric catalytic determination of molybdenum based on the iodide-hydrogen peroxide reaction can be corrected by using sulphosalicylic acid as masking and color-forming reagent. The catalytic influence of iron ions is circumvented to the extent of about 90% and correction of any remaining iron ions is possible by monitoring the colored iron(III)-salicylate complex at 490 nm. In this way, iron is also determined. With the proposed system, molybdenum can be determined in plant and food digests within the 0–100 μg Mo 1−1 range in the presence of up to 25 mg Fe 1−1, at a sampling rate of about 50 determinations h−1. The relative standard deviation of 10 consecutive measurements was estimated as < 2%. Results for samples were comparable with those obtained by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. We report a thermal analysis study of the effect of molecular weight on the amorphous phase structure of poly(phenylene sulfide), PPS, crystallized at temperatures just above the glass transition temperature. Thermal properties of Fortron PPS, having viscosity average molecular weights of 30000 to 91000, were characterized using temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). We find that while crystallinity varies little with molecular weight, the heat capacity increment at the glass transition decreases as molecular weight decreases. This leads to a smaller liquid-like amorphous phase, and a larger rigid amorphous fraction, in the lower molecular weight PPS. For all molecular weights, constrained fraction decreases as the scan rate decreases.This research is supported by the U. S. Army Research Office through contract DAAH04-96-1-0009.
