A generalization of Mallat's classic multiresolution analysis (MRA), based on the theory of spectral pairs, was considered in two papers by Gabardo and Nashed. In this nonstandard setting, the translation set is no longer a subgroup or a translate of a subgroup of R, but is a spectrum associated with a one-dimensional spectral pair. In this paper, we continue the study based on this nonstandard setting and give the characterization for nonuniform wavelets associated with a nonuniform MRA. These characterizations are consistent with both the known necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of nonuniform MRA wavelets and the known characterization for standard dyadic wavelets associated with an MRA.  相似文献

We investigate a directed metric on the space of infinite binary sequences defined by where C(X?nY?n) is the Kolmogorov complexity of X?n given Y?n. In particular we focus on the topological aspects of the associated metric space—proving that it is complete though very far from being compact. We take a step towards the development of a nilpotency theory for loops based on the commutator-associator filtration instead of the lower central series. This nilpotency theory shares many essential features with the associative case. In particular, we show that the isolator of the nth commutator-associator subloop coincides with the nth dimension subloop over a field of characteristic zero.  相似文献

A powerful data transformation method named guided projections is proposed creating new possibilities to reveal the group structure of high-dimensional data in the presence of noise variables. Using projections onto a space spanned by a selection of a small number of observations allows measuring the similarity of other observations to the selection based on orthogonal and score distances. Observations are iteratively exchanged from the selection creating a nonrandom sequence of projections, which we call guided projections. In contrast to conventional projection pursuit methods, which typically identify a low-dimensional projection revealing some interesting features contained in the data, guided projections generate a series of projections that serve as a basis not just for diagnostic plots but to directly investigate the group structure in data. Based on simulated data, we identify the strengths and limitations of guided projections in comparison to commonly employed data transformation methods. We further show the relevance of the transformation by applying it to real-world datasets.  相似文献

In the framework of the asymptotic analysis of thin structures, we prove that, up to an extraction, it is possible to decompose a sequence of ‘scaled gradients’ (where is the gradient in the k-dimensional ‘thin variable’ x β) bounded in (1 < p < + ∞) as a sum of a sequence whose p-th power is equi-integrable on Ω and a ‘rest’ that converges to zero in measure. Planetary rovers are different from conventional terrestrial vehicles in many respects, making it necessary to investigate the terramechanics with a particular focus on them, which is a hot research topic at the budding stage. Predicting the wheel-soil interaction performance from the knowledge of terramechanics is of great importance to the mechanical design/evaluation/optimization, dynamics simulation, soil parameter identification, and control of planetary rovers. In this study, experiments were performed using a single-wheel testbed for wheels with different radii (135 and 157.35 mm), widths (110 and 165 mm), lug heights (0, 5, 10, and 15 mm), numbers of lugs (30, 24, 15, and 8), and lug inclination angles (0°, 5°, 10°, and 20°) under different slip ratios (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, etc.). The influences of the vertical load (30 N, 80 N, and 150 N), moving velocity (10, 25, 40, and 55 mm/s), and repetitive passing (four times) were also studied. Experimental results shown with figures and tables and are analyzed to evaluate the wheels’ driving performance in deformable soil and to draw conclusions. The driving performance of wheels is analyzed using absolute performance indices such as drawbar pull, driving torque, and wheel sinkage and also using relative indices such as the drawbar pull coefficient, tractive efficiency, and entrance angle. The experimental results and conclusions are useful for optimal wheel design and improvement/verification of wheel-soil interaction mechanics model. The analysis methods used in this paper, such as those considering the relationships among the relative indices, can be referred to for analyzing the performance of wheels of other vehicles.  相似文献

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in uncertainty propagation, and a wide variety of uncertainty propagation methods exist in literature. In this paper, an uncertainty propagation approach is developed by using high-dimensional model representation (HDMR) and dimension reduction (DR) method technique in the stochastic space to represent the model output as a finite hierarchical correlated function expansion in terms of the stochastic inputs starting from lower-order to higher-order component functions. To save the computational cost, a dimension-adaptive version of the additive decomposition is proposed to detect the important component functions to reduce the terms. The proposed method requires neither the calculation of partial derivatives of response, as in commonly used Taylor expansion/perturbation methods, nor the inversion of random matrices, as in the Neumann expansion method. Two numerical examples show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献
