Dense packings of chains of hard spheres possess characteristic features that do not have a counterpart in corresponding packings of monomeric spheres especially near the maximally random jammed (MRJ) state. From the modelling perspective the additional requirement that spheres keep their connectivity while maximizing the occupied volume fraction imposes severe constraints on generation algorithms of dense chain configurations. The extremely sluggish dynamics imposed by the uncrossability of chains precludes the use of deterministic or stochastic dynamics to generate all but dilute polymer packings. As a viable alternative, especially tailored chain-connectivity-altering Monte Carlo (MC) algorithms have been developed that bypass this kinetic hindrance and have actually been able to produce packings of hard-sphere chains in a volume fraction range spanning from infinite dilution up to the MRJ state. Such very dense athermal polymer packings share a number of structural features with packings of monomeric hard spheres, but also display unique characteristics due to the constraints imposed by connectivity. We give an overview of the most relevant results of our recent modeling work on packings of freely-jointed chains of tangent hard spheres about the MRJ state, local structure, chain dimensions and their scaling with density, topological constraints in the form of entanglements and knots, contact network at jamming, and entropically driven crystallization. 相似文献

针对无线光通信工作频率高、通信频带宽、数据传输能力强、传输距离远的特点,提出建立水下无线光通信自组织网。为解决水下无线光通信点对多点通信的问题,提出了一种组合折反射镜,为建立移动自组织网(MobileAdhocNetwork,MANET)提供条件。研究利用OPNET对按需距离向量协议(AODV)进行仿真,通过设置移动节点参数模拟水下无线光通信自组织网,分析了不同网络规模、不同节点速度、不同发包率对网络的吞吐量、时延、误比特率等性能的影响。仿真结果表明,AODV在节点速度5m/s--10m/s以下,网络规模10个节点左右,发包率小于20packets/s时对网络拓扑变化的适应性较好。 相似文献

We investigate a new generalized projective synchronization between two complex dynamical networks of different sizes. To the best of our knowledge, most of the current studies on projective synchronization have dealt with coupled networks of the same size. By generalized projective synchronization, we mean that the states of the nodes in each network can realize complete synchronization, and the states of a pair of nodes from both networks can achieve projective synchronization. Using the stability theory of the dynamical system, several sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the existence of the generalized projective synchronization under feedback control and adaptive control are obtained. The spatiotemporal order and rhythm dynamics of a complex neuronal network with mixed bursting neurons are studied in this paper. A quantitative characteristic, the width factor, is introduced to describe the rhythm dynamics of an individual neuron, and the average width factor is used to characterize the rhythm dynamics of a neuronal network. An r parameter is introduced to denote the ratio of the short bursting neurons in the network. Then we investigate the effect of the ratio on the rhythm dynamics of the neuronal network. In this paper we obtain the discrete integrable self-dual network hierarchy associated with a discrete spectral problem. On the basis of the theory of algebraic curves, the continuous flow and discrete flow related to the discrete self-dual network hierarchy are straightened using the Abel-Jacobi coordinates. The meromorphic function and the Baker-Akhiezer function are introduced on the hyperelliptic curve. Density-functional theory (DFT) and model Hamiltonians are conceptually distinct approaches to the many-particle problem, which can be developed and applied independently. In practice, however, there are multiple connections between the two. This review focuses on these connections. After some background and introductory material on DFT and on model Hamiltonians, we describe four distinct, but complementary, connections between the two approaches: (i) the use of DFT as input for model Hamiltonians, in order to calculate model parameters such as the Hubbard U and the Heisenberg J. (ii) The use of model Hamiltonians as input for DFT, as in the LDA + U functional. (iii) The use of model Hamiltonians as theoretical laboratories to study aspects of DFT. (iv) The use of special formulations of DFT as computational tools for studying spatially inhomogeneous model Hamiltonians. We mostly focus on this fourth combination, model DFT, and illustrate it for the Hubbard model and the Heisenberg model. Other models that have been treated with DFT, such as the PPP model, the Gaudin–Yang δ-gas model, the XXZ chain, variations of the Anderson and Kondo models and Hooke’s atom are also briefly considered. Representative applications of model DFT to electrons in crystal lattices, atoms in optical lattices, entanglement measures, dynamics and transport are described. 相似文献

We consider a scale-free network of stochastic HH neurons driven by a subthreshold periodic stimulus and investigate how the collective spiking regularity or the collective temporal coherence changes with the stimulus frequency, the intrinsic noise (or the cell size), the network average degree and the coupling strength. We show that the best temporal coherence is obtained for a certain level of the intrinsic noise when the frequencies of the external stimulus and the subthreshold oscillations of the network elements match. We also find that the collective regularity exhibits a resonance-like behavior depending on both the coupling strength and the network average degree at the optimal values of the stimulus frequency and the cell size, indicating that the best temporal coherence also requires an optimal coupling strength and an optimal average degree of the connectivity. 相似文献
