A series of substituted N‐methylaniline‐blocked polyisocyanates based on 4,4′‐methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate) and poly(tetrahydrofuran) were prepared and characterized thoroughly with FTIR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy methods. Compared with unsubstituted N‐methylaniline, a blocking agent with an electron‐releasing substituent at the para position took a shorter time, whereas those with an electron‐releasing substituent at the ortho position or an electron‐withdrawing substituent at the ortho and para positions took longer times for the blocking reaction. The thermal dissociation reactions of blocked polyisocyanates were carried out with an FTIR spectrophotometer attached to hot‐stage accessories under dynamic and isothermal conditions. The dynamic method was used to determine the deblocking temperature, and the isothermal method was used to calculate the deblocking kinetics and activation parameters. The cure times of blocked polyisocyanates with hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene were also determined. The deblocking temperatures, the results of cure‐time studies, and the kinetic parameters revealed that the thermal dissociation of the N‐methylaniline‐blocked polyisocyanates was retarded by electron‐donating substituents and facilitated by electron‐withdrawing substituents. The action of N‐methylanilines as blocking agents for isocyanate was explained by the formation of a four‐center, intramolecularly hydrogen‐bonded ring structure during the thermal dissociation of the blocked polyisocyanates. The formation of such a hydrogen‐bonded ring structure was confirmed and supported by variable‐temperature 1H NMR studies and entropy parameters, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Thin films of polystyrene (PS), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polystyrene-polyacrylonitrile copolymer (PS-AN), containing various embedded transition-metal complexes, have been studied by FTIR microscopy. The spatial distributions of the transition-metal carbonyl complexes throughout the thin organic polymer films have been determined by a two-dimensional IR mapping procedure. The spectral variations observed in the distribution of the metal carbonyls throughout the different polymer films are discussed. The IR data show that the technique used to prepare the organometallic-embedded thin films (viz. freeze-drying of solutions followed by hot mechanical pressing of the residues) does in general lead to homogeneous films which may eventually find industrial application, e.g. as membrane sensors for small molecules.  相似文献

The adsorption of the dicarboxylates o-phthalate, maleate, fumarate, malonate, and oxalate (representing ligands with the general composition O2C---Cn---CO2; n=0, 1, or 2) on gibbsite were studied by means of quantitative batch adsorption experiments and attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy. The interpretations of ATR-FTIR spectra were aided by comparison with IR spectra of solution species and by results from theoretical frequency calculations. The main objectives of the study were to identify the molecular level bonding mechanisms of the dicarboxylates to gibbsite, and to investigate how these were influenced by the composition and structure of the ligands. Carboxylates with n=2 formed predominantly outer sphere complexes, whereas the importance of inner sphere complexes progressively increased for n=1 and 0. The inner sphere structures were identified as mononuclear chelates with one oxygen from each carboxylate group bonded to Al(III) at the surface. This showed the importance of chelate ring structure for the formation of inner sphere surface complexes, with stabilities of the complexes increasing in the order seven-membered ring less than six-membered ring less than five-membered ring. For ligands with n=2 only small variations in surface speciation were observed as a function of steric factors; irrespective of the relative positions of the carboxylate groups and bulkiness of the ligands outer sphere bonding is the dominating adsorption mode. Adsorption experiments were also conducted with gibbsite particles exhibiting differences in shape and surface roughness. These experiments showed that inner sphere complexes were favored on the less well-developed and more irregular gibbsite particles.  相似文献

The use of an integrating sphere for the measurement of absorption spectra of thin films is described. The thin film (for example a rare gas matrix) is grown directly on the inside surface of the sphere. Multiple reflections inside the integrating sphere lead to significant enhancement of weak absorptions of the film, increasing the sensitivity of such measurements.  相似文献

Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy has been a major point of development in many wine laboratories in recent years. It enables almost instant analysis of several properties of wine, usually with very good precision and accurate results. Nevertheless, validation procedures should not be forgotten and should be fully performed. Recovery experiments were performed by spiking wine samples with different amounts of organic acids (tartaric, malic, lactic, acetic and citric—the most prominent in wines). After FTIR analysis of the total acidity and of each organic acid concentration, recoveries were calculated. For total acidity recovery results were, in general, good and very close to 100% (64–111%). On the other hand, for individual organic acid concentrations, the recovery results were lower than 100% (11–73%) for all spiking additions. These results could be explained by spectroscopic interferences between the organic acids. Because they have similar infrared spectra, it is not easy to distinguish between them and, therefore, to achieve accurate calibration. When total acidity, with a different infrared spectrum from the other abundant compounds in the wine, was taken as a single property the recovery results were acceptable.  相似文献

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) has been the material of choice for load-bearing articular components used in total joint arthroplasty in the past 30 years. However, the durability of the whole implant has often been compromised by oxidation of UHMWPE components. Since the use of a suitable, biocompatible stabilizer would minimize this inconvenience, the possibility of adding synthetic Vitamin E to medical grade UHMWPE is currently under investigation.In the present work, medical grade UHMWPE was blended with 0.05, 0.1 or 0.5 w/w% of α-tocopherol and consolidated by compression moulding. Small blocks of reference UHMWPE and of each blend were then gamma irradiated to 30 or 100 kGy. FTIR spectroscopy was used to monitor changes in both the polymer and the additive. Thin sections of virgin and α-tocopherol doped UHMWPE irradiated and unirradiated were aged in a ventilated oven at 90 °C and the kinetic of oxidation was followed by FTIR. In addition, CL-imaging curves were recorded at 180 °C on both irradiated and unirradiated samples.Phenol loss is observed in all the α-tocopherol doped samples upon irradiation. Hypotheses on the rearrangements of the additive structure include the formation of quinonoid products. Nevertheless, all the additive-containing samples exhibit better oxidation resistance compared to the virgin material, indicating stabilizing activity of the α-tocopherol derivatives.  相似文献

The sol-gel synthesis of silicophosphate gels using phosphoryl chloride and tetraethoxysilane as molecular precursors is reported and discussed. Gel-derived glasses and films having the molar compositions 10P2O5 · 90SiO2 and 30P2O5 · 70SiO2 have been obtained. The structure of the dried gels as well as the structural modifications that occurs during the transformations in gel-derived glasses are analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It has been found that the evidence of the P—O—Si linkages begins to appear only on the FTIR spectra of the bulk gels heat treated up to 400°C while they are well resolved on the FTIR spectra of the bulk gel samples heated up to 1000°C indicating that at this temperature the transformation in the corresponding gel-derived glasses occurs. The humidity sensitive properties of the gel-films have been evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The phosphorous content as well as the temperature of the heat treatments strongly affect the sensitivity to RH of the gel-derived films.  相似文献

In order to explore a rapid identification method for the anti-counterfeit of commercial high value collections, a three-step infrared spectrum method was used for the pterocarpus collection identification to confirm whether a commercial pterocarpus bracelet (PB) was made from the precious species of Pterocarpus santalinus (P. santalinus). In the first step, undertaken by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectrum, the absorption peaks intensity of PB was slightly higher than that of P. santalinus only at 1594 cm−1, 1205 cm−1, 1155 cm−1 and 836 cm−1. In the next step of second derivative IR spectra (SDIR), the FTIR features of the tested samples were further amplified, and the peaks at 1600 cm−1, 1171 cm−1 and 1152 cm−1 become clearly defined in PB. Finally, by means of two-dimensional correlation infrared (2DIR) spectrum, it revealed that the response of holocellulose to thermal perturbation was stronger in P. santalinus than that in PB mainly at 977 cm−1, 1008 cm−1, 1100 cm−1, 1057 cm−1, 1190 cm−1 and 1214 cm−1, while the aromatic functional groups of PB were much more sensitive to the thermal perturbation than those of P. santalinus mainly at 1456 cm−1, 1467 cm−1, 1518 cm−1, 1558 cm−1, 1576 cm−1 and 1605 cm−1. In addition, fluorescence microscopy was used to verify the effectiveness of the above method for wood identification and the results showed good consistency. This study demonstrated that the three-step IR method could provide a rapid and effective way for the anti-counterfeit of pterocarpus collections.  相似文献

In several of his artworks, for instance the Venezie cycle, Fontana employed metallic paints; previous investigations on such materials highlighted the use of different synthetic binders and of thick paint layers below the metal one, having different colours to change the visual perception of the metallic surface. In the present work, a monochrome silver “Concetto spaziale” by the Italo–Argentine artist belonging to a private collection recently gifted to the museum of the Church of San Fedele in Milano, Italy, was investigated to deepen the knowledge of this particular group of Fontana’s paintings. The artwork was initially visually inspected in visible and ultraviolet (UV) light. Subsequently, a non-invasive spectroscopic investigation was performed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), reflection Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy. A minute fragment of silver-coloured paint was taken from the reverse of the painting, near the cut edge, and examined by scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX) and micro-Fourier-transform Raman (FT-Raman) spectroscopy. The analytical data made it possible to identify the composition of the metallic paint layer and of the underlying dark one, both from the point of view of the pigments and of the binders used, also highlighting the potential of the non-invasive and micro-invasive methods adopted in the investigation.  相似文献

通过对40例疤痕组织和正常皮肤组织的ETIR光谱比较分析发现,由于个体差异,其光谱均可分为三种不同类型。此外,疤痕组织中的胶原、蛋白质、核酸和脂类等生物大分子的吸收峰强度均在不同程度上高于正常皮肤组织,但两者的A_(1083)/A_(1548)并无明显差异。提示疤痕组织中的细胞仍属正常生长,治疗中不应损伤。  相似文献
