Development of [3]ferrocenophane-derived N/B frustrated Lewis pairs for the metal-free catalytic hydrogenation of imines

A series of novel [3]ferrocenophane-derived N/B frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs) were synthesized and successfully applied to the catalytic hydrogenation of imines in 71–93% yields. This approach could be easily conducted on gram scale and provided versatile synthetic route for the key intermediate of sertraline hydrochloride without heavy metal residues.     

Aromaticity of the most stable adenine and purine tautomers in terms of Hückel's 4N+2 principle

Electron structures of the fused rings in 7H and 9H tautomers of purine and adenine follow the 4N + 2 rule; the values of pEDA, HOMA, NICS and FLU indices document their aromatic character. In the 1H and 3H tautomers, these rings contain five or seven π electrons, hence they do not follow this rule and consequently exhibit lower aromaticity. This also applies to the aromaticity of whole molecules.     

Acid-promoted metal-free synthesis of 3-ketoquinolines from amines,enaminones and DMSO

A metal-free p-toluenesulfonic acid (TsOH·H₂O) mediated synthesis of 3-ketoquinolines from anilines, enaminones and DMSO has been developed. In this transformation, DMSO was activated by TsOH·H₂O and provided the one-carbon unit of the 3-ketoquinolines. A plausible mechanism involving an electrophilic sulfenium ion intermediate was proposed.     

Fe(III)-catalyzed oxidative coupling of alkylnitriles with aromatic carboxylic acids: Facile access to cyanomethyl esters

The first oxidative coupling of alkylnitriles with aromatic carboxylic acids using di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP) as oxidant was achieved under the catalysis of ionic Fe(III) complexes bearing an imidazolinium cation. This protocol features nontoxic iron catalysis, direct α-C(sp³)–H bond oxidative esterification of alkylnitriles, non-prefunctionalized starting materials, and a broad substrate scope with outstanding steric hindrance tolerance, providing a novel, straightforward, and green approach toward cyanomethyl ester synthesis.     

柚子皮衍生类蜂窝状碳材料在同步检测重金属离子中的应用

不含金属的碳材料通过廉价且易获得的柚子皮经KOH活化和高温热解获得,该碳材料具有高比表面积(1 055 m~2·g~(-1))和高石墨化程度的类蜂窝状结构。将多孔碳(PAC)材料修饰后的电极作为工作电极,采用阳极溶出伏安法(SWASV)同步检测Cd~(2+)、Pb~(2+)和Cu~(2+)离子,表现出较高的灵敏度、可重复性、稳定性和较低的检测限。研究认为PAC的微孔和中孔可以充当有效的离子传递通道,从而加速离子的扩散并显著提高交换效率,而高的石墨化程度提高了材料的导电性,加速了电子传输。     

Co1-xS embedded in porous carbon derived from metal organic framework as a highly efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction

Here, we report a two-step conversion method to fabricate a composite of Co_1-xS embedded in porous carbon framework (Co_1-xS@C) derived from metal organic frameworks (MOFs). The as-prepared porous dodecahedron Co_1-xS@C composite catalyst exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance towards oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

Elasto-plastic analysis of an internally pressurized thick-walled cylinder using a strain gradient plasticity theory

An analytical solution for the stress, strain and displacement fields in an internally pressurized thick-walled cylinder of an elastic strain-hardening plastic material in the plane strain state is presented. A strain gradient plasticity theory is used to describe the constitutive behavior of the material undergoing plastic deformations, whereas the generalized Hooke’s law is invoked to represent the material response in the elastic region. The solution gives explicit expressions for the stress, strain and displacement components. The inner radius of the cylinder enters these expressions not only in non-dimensional forms but also with its own dimensional identity, unlike classical plasticity-based solutions. As a result, the current solution can capture the size (strengthening) effect at the micron scale. The classical plasticity-based solution of the same problem is shown to be a special case of the present solution. Numerical results for the maximum effective stress in the cylinder wall are also provided to illustrate applications of the newly derived solution.     

Cluster glass-like behavior in a 2D bimetallic molecule-based magnet

The compound of formula Na₂[Co₂{Cu(opba)}₃]·2DMSO·6H₂O has been synthesized where opba stands for ortho-phenylenebis(oxamato) and DMSO is dimethylsulfoxide. Magnetic properties have been investigated in the 2–300 K temperature range. The compound presents a large coercive field, around 3.5 kOe at 4.2 K, and the A.C. susceptibility measurements has revealed a cluster glass-like behavior.
