The dispersion of small amplitude waves in a transversely isotropic, piezo-electric plate is discussed in respect of both short circuit and open circuit boundary conditions. In both cases the mechanical boundary conditions are taken as traction-free. In both cases, symmetric and anti-symmetric dispersion relations are derived, with long and short wave approximations then established, giving phase speed, and frequency, as functions of scaled wave number. It is shown that some particularly novel features occur within the vicinity of the associated cut-off frequencies. In particular, it is established that for some families the cut-off frequencies depend only on elastic terms, with others depending both on electrical and elastic terms. In each case, the appropriate asymptotic form of displacement is established. This reveals that for motion close to some frequencies, one of the scaled displacements is an order of magnitude larger than the electric potential, however for motion close to other frequencies the opposite situation arises. This information may have applications for the development and design of sensing and actuating devices. The paper also provides the necessary asymptotic framework for the derivation of asymptotically approximate models to fully elucidate the dynamic response of such plates near these resonance frequencies.  相似文献

This letter does some further researches on a newly proposed hyper-chaos found in [Gao TG, Chen ZQ, Chen G. A hyper-chaos Generated from Chen’s system, Int J Mod Phys C 2006;17(4):471–8], and gets some new results with some parameters of the system are definite and the other one varies. The basic dynamical behavior of the system under various conditions is analyzed, and the new findings is not only demonstrated by computer simulations but also verified with bifurcation analysis.  相似文献

The paper presents average flow visualizations and measurements, obtained with the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technique, of a submerged rectangular free jet of air in the range of Reynolds numbers from Re = 35,300 to Re = 2200, where the Reynolds number is defined according to the hydraulic diameter of a rectangular slot of height H. According to the literature, just after the exit of the jet there is a zone of flow, called zone of flow establishment, containing the region of mixing fluid, at the border with the stagnant fluid, and the potential core, where velocity on the centerline maintains a value almost equal to the exit one. After this zone is present the zone of established flow or fully developed region. The goal of the paper is to show, with average PIV visualizations and measurements, that, before the zone of flow establishment is present a region of flow, never mentioned by the literature and called undisturbed region of flow, with a length, LU, which decreases with the increase of the Reynolds number. The main characteristics of the undisturbed region is the fact that the velocity profile maintains almost equal to the exit one, and can also be identified by a constant height of the average PIV visualizations, with length, LCH, or by a constant turbulence on the centerline, with length LCT. The average PIV velocity and turbulence measurements are compared to those performed with the Hot Film Anemometry (HFA) technique. The average PIV visualizations show that the region of constant height has a length LCH which increases from LCH = H at Re = 35,300 to LCH = 45H at Re = 2200. The PIV measurements on the centerline of the jet show that turbulence remains constant at the level of the exit for a length, LCT, which increases from LCT = H at Re = 35,300 to LCT = 45H at Re = 2200. The PIV measurements show that velocity remains constant at the exit level for a length, LU, which increases from LU = H at Re = 35,300 to LU = 6H at Re = 2200 and is called undisturbed region of flow. In turbulent flow the length LU is almost equal to the lengths of the regions of constant height, LCH, and constant turbulence, LCT. In laminar flow, Re = 2200, the length of the undisturbed region of flow, LU, is greater than the lengths of the regions of constant height and turbulence, LCT = LCH = 45H. The average PIV and HFA velocity measurements confirm that the length of potential core, LP, increases from LP = 45H at Re = 35,300 to LP = 78H at Re = 2200, and are compared to the previous experimental and theoretical results of the literature in the zone of mixing fluid and in the fully developed region with a good agreement.  相似文献

Geometric, electronic and vibrational properties of the most stable and energetically favourable configurations of indium oxide clusters InmOn (1≤m, n4) are investigated using density functional theory. The lowest energy geometries prefer the planar arrangement of the constituent atoms with a trend to maximize the number of ionic In-O bonds. Due to the charge transfer from In to O atoms, the electrostatic repulsion occurs between the atoms with the same kind of charge. The minimization of electrostatic repulsion and the maximization of In-O bond number compete between each other and determine the location of the isometric total energy. The most stable linear In-O-In-O structure of In2O2 cluster is attributed to the reduced electrostatic repulsive energy at the expense of In-O bond number, while the lowest energy rhombus-like structure of In2O3 cluster reflects the maximized number of In-O bonds. Furthermore, the vibrational frequencies of the lowest energy clusters are calculated and compared with the available experimental results. The energy gap and the charge density distribution for clusters with varying oxygen/indium ratio are also discussed.  相似文献

The explosion of different types of wireless communications is leading to an impending spectrum famine. As a result, spectrum sensing has gained increasing interest from governments, industry and regulators. In this paper, a novel approach for cooperative spectrum sensing is proposed based on a modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm (SFLA). This approach is to fuse the perceived results of multiple nodes, and to improve the detection reliability. Simulations are used to compare the performance of the modified SFLA to the conventional one. The performance of the proposed cooperative spectrum sensing method based on the modified SFLA and that of the cooperative spectrum sensing method using modified deflection coefficient (MDC) are also compared. Results show that the proposed SFLA outperforms the traditional SFLA, and the proposed cooperative spectrum sensing method based on the modified SFLA gives higher miss detection probability than the MDC-based method, which validates the effectiveness of the modified SFLA-based cooperative sensing method.  相似文献

Principal component analysis (PCA) is a popular technique in remote sensing for dimensionality reduction. While PCA is suitable for data compression, it is not necessarily an optimal technique for feature extraction, particularly when the features are exploited in supervised learning applications (Cheriyadat and Bruce, 2003) [1]. Preserving features belonging to the target is very crucial to the performance of target detection/recognition techniques. Fukunaga–Koontz Transform (FKT) based supervised band reduction technique can be used to provide this requirement. FKT achieves feature selection by transforming into a new space in where feature classes have complimentary eigenvectors. Analysis of these eigenvectors under two classes, target and background clutter, can be utilized for target oriented band reduction since each basis functions best represent target class while carrying least information of the background class. By selecting few eigenvectors which are the most relevant to the target class, dimension of hyperspectral data can be reduced and thus, it presents significant advantages for near real time target detection applications. The nonlinear properties of the data can be extracted by kernel approach which provides better target features. Thus, we propose constructing kernel FKT (KFKT) to present target oriented band reduction. The performance of the proposed KFKT based target oriented dimensionality reduction algorithm has been tested employing two real-world hyperspectral data and results have been reported consequently.  相似文献

We present a new type of imaging device, named quadratic grating apodized photon sieve (QGPS), used as the objective for simultaneous multiplane imaging in X-rays. The proposed QGPS is structured based on the combination of two concepts: photon sieves and quadratic gratings. Its design principles are also expounded in detail. Analysis of imaging properties of QGPS in terms of point-spread function shows that QGPS can image multiple layers within an object field onto a single image plane. Simulated and experimental results in visible light both demonstrate the feasibility of QGPS for simultaneous multiplane imaging, which is extremely promising to detect dynamic specimens by X-ray microscopy in the physical and life sciences.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel structured light approach for the 3D reconstruction of specular surface. The binary shifting strip is adopted as structured light pattern instead of conventional sinusoidal pattern. Based on the framework of conventional High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging technique, an efficient means is first introduced to estimate the camera response function. And then, dynamic range of the generated radiance map is compressed in the gradient domain by introducing an attenuation function. Subject to the change of lighting conditions caused by projecting different structured light patterns, the structure light image with middle exposure level is selected as the reference image and used for the slight adjustment of the primary fused image. Finally, the regenerated structured light images with well exposing condition are used for 3D reconstruction of the specular surface. To evaluate performance of the method, some stainless stamping parts with strong reflectivity are used for the experiments. And the results showed that, different specular targets with various shapes can be precisely reconstructed by the proposed method.  相似文献
