Comparative analysis of the methods for measurement of membrane surface potential of planar lipid bilayers

Different methods for the measurement of the membrane surface potential Φ_m, or changes therein (ΔΦ_m), are described and compared with respect to their sensitivity, generality of application and ease of use. Examples of the measurement of ΔΦ_m for the determination of the surface charge density of planar lipid bilayers are presented.

凝固时的固液界面通常为平面、胞状、枝晶状。在某些条件下结晶,会形成双胞结构、三胞结构、倾斜枝晶、密集分枝和退化枝晶等不规则界面。本文介绍了不规则界面的形貌特征,讨论了界面能各向异性、压力和温度对界面形貌的影响以及规则界面与不规则界面的相互转变等问题。当晶体沿着某些特定位向生长时,界面能接近于各向同性,晶体以密集分枝方式生长;当界面能各向异性时,大多数晶体以规则枝晶方式生长。在VF工艺中,低压下得到密集分枝界面;压力增加,界面以枝晶方式生长;压力进一步增加,重新得到密集分枝界面。     

Solving frictional contact problems by two aggregate-function-based algorithms

Three dimensional frictional contact problems are formulated as linear complementarity problems based on the parametric variational principle. Two aggregate-function-based algorithms for solving complementarity problems are proposed. One is called the self-adjusting interior point algorithm, the other is called the aggregate function smoothing algorithm. Numerical experiment shows the efficiency of the proposed two algorithms. Dynamics of two classes of Lorenz‐type chaotic systems

In this article, the dynamical behaviors of two classes of chaotic systems are considered based on generalized Lyapunov function theorem with integral inequalities. Explicit estimations of the ultimate bounds are derived. The results presented in this article contain the existing results as special cases. Organic salt-derived phosphorus-doped mesoporous carbon for high performance supercapacitors

Phosphorus-doped mesoporous carbons (PMCs) were prepared using a self-doping and self-templating approach via direct pyrolysis of sodium phytate (C₆H₁₇NaO₂₄P₆). The one-pot method allows simultaneous carbonization and P doping, eliminating the need for pre-synthesis or post-activation treatment. The C₆H₁₇NaO₂₄P₆ is the source of both carbon and phosphorus, and the nano-Na₄P₂O₇ particles produced during pyrolysis act as hard templates for the honeycomb mesoporous structure with high specific surface area (884–827 m²/g), large mesopore volume ratio (67%–75%) and rich phosphorus content (0.53–2.34 at%). As electrodes of supercapacitors in 6 mol/L KOH, the PMCs showed outstanding performance with a high capacitance of 202 F/g and excellent rate performance of 148 F/g at 30 A/g. In addition, the PMCs-based symmetrical supercapacitors can operate in an expanded working voltage of 0–1.6 V in 3 mol/L H₂SO₄ aqueous electrolytes with high-density energy of 11.8 Wh/kg.     

Room temperature spontaneous surface condensation of boronic acids observed by scanning tunneling microscopy

Herein, we discovered that the surface-confined condensation of boronic acid can happen spontaneously at room temperature, by comparing the kinetics of condensation of boronic acids with and without the negative sample bias, we found that the negative sample bias indeed accelerates the self-condensation reaction of boronic acid. Combining with in-situ STM images and ultraviolet photoemission spectrum (UPS) analysis, a reversible adsorption mechanism model was proposed and reasonably explains the reversible electric-field-induced phase transformation.
