Determination of purine and pyrimidine bases in DNA by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography with electrochemical detection

A method based on micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography with electrochemical detection was developed for the determination of cytosine, 5-methylcytosine (5-MC), thymine, adenine, and guanine in the hydrolysates of DNA. The working electrode was fabricated in a novel self-positioning carbon disc electrode system that can align the capillary outlet with the working electrode without a three-dimensional micromanipulator. The five analytes could be well separated within 10 min in a 40 cm length capillary at a separation voltage of 9 kV in a 40 mmol/l borate buffer (pH 10.0) containing 100 mmol/l sodium dodecyl sulfate. Good linearity was observed between peak current and concentration of bases over three orders of magnitude with the detection limits (SIN=3) ranging from 1.28 x 10(-6) to 5.02 x 10(-6) mol/l. This proposed method demonstrated long-term stability and reproducibility with relative standard deviations of less than 5% for both migration time and peak current (n=7). It has been successfully applied to determine bases including 5-MC in the hydrolysates of fish sperm DNA, calf thymus DNA, and DNA isolated from spleen cells of female mice.     

Catalytic one-pot synthesis of [5.5.5.6]fenestrane systems via a dicobalt octacarbonyl-catalyzed tandem cycloaddition of dienediynes

Catalytic one-pot synthesis of fenestrane derivatives from dienediynes was developed: fenestranes were synthesized in high yields by a dicobalt octacarbonyl-catalyzed tandem cycloaddition of dienediynes.     

Observation of unusual surface ordering in a uniaxial Sm-A phase formed by a highly biaxial compound

We have studied one banana-shaped compound using null-transmission ellipsometry. By studying free-standing films of various thicknesses we confirm that this compound exhibits the Sm-A phase. This is the first banana-shaped compound with a relatively small bend angle (approximately 140 degrees) in which a uniaxial phase has been observed. At the lower temperature end of the Sm-A phase we observe unusual ordering at the surface of the film.     

Measurements of the cross section for e(+)e(-) --> hadrons at center-of-mass energies from 2 to 5 GeV

We report values of R = sigma(e(+)e(-)-->hadrons)/sigma(e(+)e(-)-->mu(+)mu(-)) for 85 center-of-mass energies between 2 and 5 GeV measured with the upgraded Beijing Spectrometer at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider.     

Investigation of Brillouin effects in small-core holey optical fiber: lasing and scattering

We demonstrate for what is believed to be the first time a Brillouin laser based on a holey fiber (HF). Using a simple Fabry-Perot resonator scheme containing a 73.5-m-long highly nonlinear HF with an effective area of 2.85 microm(2) , we obtain a threshold of 125 mW and a slope efficiency of ~70% . Stimulated and spontaneous Brillouin scattering effects are investigated in the HF, and we show that the high lasing threshold is due mainly to reduction of the effective gain coefficient caused by structural nonuniformity along the fiber length.     

第Ⅱ种强度不等的非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场的偶数阶等阶N次方Y压缩

本文构造了由多模复共轭相干态的相反态|{-Z_j^(a)*}>_q与多模虚共轭相干态的相反态|{-iZ_j^(b)*}>_q这两者的线性叠加所组成的第Ⅱ种强度不等的非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场|Ψ_Ⅱ^(ab)>_q,利用多模压缩态理论研究了态|Ψ_Ⅱ^(ab)>_q的任意偶数阶等阶N次方Y压缩特性.结果发现:1)在压缩阶数N取偶数,即N=2p的条件下,无论p=2m(m=1,2,3,…,…),还是p=2m+1(m=0,1,2,3,…,…),只要构成态|Ψ_Ⅱ^(ab)>_q的两个不同的量子光场态中各对应模的强度(即平均光子数)和初始相位都不相等,亦即R_j^(a)≠R_j^(b)和φ_j^(a)≠φ_j^(b)(j=1,2,3,…,q),并且 ,则当满足一定的量子化条件(或者在一些闭区间内连续取值)时,态|Ψ_Ⅱ^(ab)>_q总可呈现出周期性变化的、任意偶数阶的等阶N次方Y压缩效应.2)在N=2p且p=2m+1(m=0,1,2,3,…,…)的条件下,若R_j^(a)=R_j^(b)和φ_j^(a)=φ_j^(b)(j=1,2,3,…,q),态|Ψ_Ⅱ^(ab)>_q则可呈现出等阶N次方Y压缩简并现象.     

第Ⅰ种非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场的偶数阶等阶N次方Y压缩

本文利用多模压缩态理论,研究了第Ⅰ种非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场|Ψ_Ⅰ^(ab)Ⅰ>_q的偶数阶等阶N次方Y压缩特性.结果发现:在压缩阶数N取偶数情况下,只要构成态|Ψ_Ⅰ^(ab)Ⅰ>_q的两个量子光场态的强度(即平均光子数)不相等,则当各模的初始相位φ_j^(a)、φ_j^(b)(j＝1,2,3,…,q)、态间的初始相位差(θ_pq^(bI)-θ_nq^(aR))以及与上述的两个量子光场态相对应的各单模相干态光场的光子干涉项之和 ＝[R_j^(a)R_j^(b)cos(φ_j^(a)-φ_j^(b))]等满足一定条件时,态|Ψ_Ⅰ^(ab)Ⅰ>_q可呈现出周期性变化的、任意偶数阶的等阶N次方Y压缩效应.这一结果与现有文献报道的结果截然不同.     

第Ⅱ种强度不等的两态叠加多模叠加态光场的等阶N次方H压缩——2腔模总数与压缩阶数两者之积取奇数的情形

构造了由多模复共轭相干态的相反态|{-Z_j^(a)*}〉q和多模虚共轭相干态的相反态|{-Z_j^(b)*}〉q的线性叠加所组成的第Ⅱ种强度不等的非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场|Ψ(ab)Ⅱ〉q.利用多模压缩态理论,研究了态|Ψ(ab)Ⅱ〉q的等阶N次方H压缩特性.结果发现,在腔模总数与压缩阶数这两者之积取奇数,则当各对应模的初始相位、各对应模的初始相位差,态间的初始相位差、以及光子干涉项的幅度之和等分别满足一定的量子化条件时,态|Ψ(ab)Ⅱ〉q的第一及第二正交分量可分别呈现出周期性变化的等阶N次方H压缩效应.这与现有报道的结果截然不同.     

On creation of Hopf bifurcations in discrete-time nonlinear systems

Bifurcation characteristics of a nonlinear system can be manipulated by small controls. In this paper, we present a control method to create Hopf bifurcations in discrete-time nonlinear systems. The critical conditions for the Hopf bifurcations are discussed. The center manifold method, normal form technique and the Iooss's Hopf bifurcation theory are employed in the derivation of the control gain. Numerical demonstration is provided.
