This paper addresses the problem of enhancing spatiotemporal resolution of ultra-small superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO)-enhanced dynamic MRI of rat kidneys. To alleviate the limited resolution problem of conventional full-scan Fourier imaging methods, we use a generalized series-based imaging scheme to reduce coverage of kappa-space. Experimental results demonstrate that the generalized series imaging method with basis functions constructed using two references (pre- and post-contrast) can reduce the number of phase encodings measured during the dynamic contrast wash-in process by a factor of 4 with a negligible or minimal loss of image quality. The method is expected to make 3D studies possible using USPIO-enhanced dynamic imaging of rat kidneys, and prove valuable for early detection of renal rejection after kidney transplantation.  相似文献

Understanding of the dynamic particulate flow structures within a dense gas-fly ash pneumatic conveyor must be improved in order to better aid its design guidance.The complex pulsatile movement of the gas-fly ash mixture dominates the flow performance within the pipeline,and historically,non-invasive measurement devices such as the electrical capacitance tomography(ECT) were often used to sufficiently capture the flow dynamics.However,inadequate studies have been conducted on the pulsatile flow phenomenon,which directly relate to the gas-fly ash two-phase flow performance.This paper aims to investigate the pulsatile flows using an ECT device.Initially,pulsatile flow patterns under various experimental conditions were obtained through ECT.Pulses within a flow were then characterised into pulse growth and decay segments,which represent the superficial fluidisation and deaeration processes during conveying.Subsequently,structural and statistical analyses were performed on the pulse growth and decay segments.Results suggested that the increasing air mass flow rate led to the decrease of the superficial fluidisation/deaeration magnitude,however,the increase of the superficial fluidisation/deaeration durations.Also,the air mass flow rate was indicated as the dominant factor in determining the pulsing statistical parameters.This research provides fundamental insights for further modelling the dense fly ash pneumatic flows.  相似文献

Infrared spectroscopy has proven most useful for the study of anions in the interlayer of natural hydrotalcites. A suite of naturally occurring hydrotalcites including carrboydite, hydrohonessite, reevesite, motukoreaite and takovite were analysed. Variation in the hydroxyl stretching region was observed and the band profile is a continuum of states resulting from the OH stretching of the hydroxyl and water units. Infrared spectroscopy identifies some isomorphic substitution of sulphate for carbonate through an anion exchange mechanism for the minerals carrboydite and hydrohonessite. The infrared spectra of the CO3 and SO4 stretching region of takovite is complex because of band overlap. For this mineral some sulphate has replaced the carbonate in the structure. In the spectra of takovites, a band is observed at 1346 cm(-1) and is attributed to the carbonate anion hydrogen bonded to water in the interlayer. Infrared spectroscopy has proven most useful for the study of the interlayer structure of these natural hydrotalcites.  相似文献

This work examines the sensitivity of docking programs to tiny changes in ligand input files. The results show that nearly identical ligand input structures can produce dramatically different top-scoring docked poses. Even changing the atom order in a ligand input file can produce significantly different poses and scores. In well-behaved cases the docking variations are small and follow a normal distribution around a central pose and score, but in many cases the variations are large and reflect wildly different top scores and binding modes. The docking variations are characterized by statistical methods, and the sensitivity of high-throughput and more precise docking methods are compared. The results demonstrate that part of docking variation is due to numerical sensitivity and potentially chaotic effects in current docking algorithms and not solely due to incomplete ligand conformation and pose searching. These results have major implications for the way docking is currently used for pose prediction, ranking, and virtual screening.  相似文献

Clusters of uracil (U) about a calcium dication, U(n)Ca(2+) (n = 14-4), have been studied in the gas phase by both experimental and theoretical methods. Temperature dependent blackbody infrared radiative dissociation (BIRD) experiments were performed on U(n)Ca(2+) clusters with n = 14-5 and the observed Arrhenius parameters are reported here. Master equation modeling of the BIRD kinetics data was carried out to determine threshold dissociation energies. Initial geometry calculations were performed using the B3LYP density functional and 3-21G(d) basis set. A sample of ten conformations per cluster was obtained through a simulated annealing study. These structures were optimized using B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory. Fragment-based hybrid many body interaction (HMBI) MP2/6-311++G(2df,2p)/Amoeba calculations were performed on representative conformations to determine theoretical binding energies. Results were examined in relation to cluster size (n). A significant increase in the energy required to remove uracil from U(6)Ca(2+) when compared to larger clusters supports previous reports that the calcium ion is coordinated by six uracil molecules in the formation of an inner shell. For clusters larger than n = 6, an odd-even alternation in threshold dissociation energies was observed, suggesting that the outer shell uracil molecules bind as dimers to the inner core. Proposed binding schemes are presented. Multiple structures of U(5)Ca(2+) are suggested as being present in the gas phase where the fifth uracil may be either part of the first or second solvation shell.  相似文献

We propose a modification of a NALM-based 2R regenerator of phase-encoded signals which operates at considerably lower input powers than was studied earlier. Our modification consists of replacing the core-matched and lossless fiber coupler in the NALM by a coupler with a propagation constant mismatch and loss asymmetrically distributed between the two cores.
