We show that the finite-dimensional Fritz John multiplier rule, which is based on the limiting/Mordukhovich subdifferential, can be proved by using differentiable penalty functions and the basic calculus tools in variational analysis. The corresponding Kuhn–Tucker multiplier rule is derived from the Fritz John multiplier rule by imposing a constraint qualification condition or the exactness of an ?1 penalty function. In this article, we focus on data arriving sequentially by blocks in a stream. A semiparametric regression model involving a common effective dimension reduction (EDR) direction \(\beta \) is assumed in each block. Our goal is to estimate this direction at each arrival of a new block. A simple direct approach consists of pooling all the observed blocks and estimating the EDR direction by the sliced inverse regression (SIR) method. But in practice, some disadvantages appear such as the storage of the blocks and the running time for large sample sizes. To overcome these drawbacks, we propose an adaptive SIR estimator of \(\beta \) based on the optimization of a quality measure. The corresponding approach is faster both in terms of computational complexity and running time, and provides data storage benefits. The consistency of our estimator is established and its asymptotic distribution is given. An extension to multiple indices model is proposed. A graphical tool is also provided in order to detect changes in the underlying model, i.e., drift in the EDR direction or aberrant blocks in the data stream. A simulation study illustrates the numerical behavior of our estimator. Finally, an application to real data concerning the estimation of physical properties of the Mars surface is presented. 相似文献

A new, efficient method for synthesizing stable nanoparticles with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) functionalities on the core surface, in which the micellization and crosslinking reactions occur in one pot, has been developed. First, amphiphilic PEO‐b‐PS copolymers were synthesized by reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) radical polymerization of styrene using (PEO)‐based trithiocarbonate as a macro‐RAFT agent. The low molecular weight PEO‐b‐PS copolymer was dissolved in isopropyl alcohol where the block copolymer self‐assembled as core‐shell micelles, and then the core‐shell interface crosslink was performed using divinylbenzene as a crosslinking agent and 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator. The design of the amphiphilic RAFT agent is critical for the successful preparation of core‐shell interface crosslinked micellar nanoparticles, because of RAFT functional groups interconnect PEO and polystyrene blocks. The PEO functionality of the nanoparticles surface was confirmed by 1H NMR and FTIR. The size and morphology of the nanoparticles was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic laser light scattering analysis. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Phosphonic acids are known to be useful monomers in dental restorative materials because of their good potential to provide enhanced adhesion to hydroxyapatite and their high hydrolytic stability. In this study, the photopolymerization of phosphonic acid‐based monomer via the camphorquinone (CQ)/ethyl‐4‐(dimethylaminobenzoate) (EDAB) photoredox system is compared with a ternary system composed of iodonium hexafluorophosphate and CQ/EDAB. Photocalorimetry shows that the ternary system does not provide a significant acceleration of the polymerization with either acrylamide or methacrylate phosphonic acids. The complexation of the iodonium by the phosphonic moiety of the acidic monomers leads to a lowered iodonium reactivity and reduced polarizability of the medium and as a consequence limits the rate enhancement effect normally observed by phosphonic acids on the polymerization rate. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Postfunctionalization of high‐molecular‐weight syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) was achieved via combination of electrophilic bromination at the para‐position of the polymer aromatic ring and subsequent Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions with functionalized phenylboronic acids. The concentration of brominated styrene repeating unit in sPS was conveniently controlled by changing the ratio of added bromine relative to the polymer repeating unit. Brominated sPS (8.5 mol %) was converted quantitatively to other polar functional groups via Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions with various functional group‐substituted phenylboronic acids.
