The combined effects of the permeability of the medium, magnetic field, buoyancy forces and dissipation on the unsteady mixed convection flow over a horizontal cylinder and a sphere embedded in a porous medium have been studied. The nonlinear coupled partial differential equations with three independent variables have been solved numerically using an implicit finite-difference scheme in combination with the quasilinearization technique. The skin friction, heat transfer and mass transfer increase with the permeability of the medium, magnetic field and buoyancy parameter. The heat and mass transfer continuously decrease with the stream-wise distance, whereas the skin friction increases from zero, attains a maximum and then decreases to zero. The skin friction, heat transfer and mass transfer are significantly affected by the free stream velocity distribution. The effect of dissipation parameter is found to be more pronounced on the heat transfer than on the skin friction and mass transfer.Untersucht wurden kombinierte Effekte der Permeabilität des Mediums, des magnetischen Feldes, der Auftriebskräfte und der Dissipation auf die instationäre Mischkonvektions-Strömung über einen horizontalen Zylinder und eine Kugel, die in einem porösen Medium eingebettet sind. Die nichtlinearen gekoppelten partiellen Differentialgleichungen mit drei unabhängigen Variablen wurden numerisch unter Benutzung eines impliziten Finite-Differenzen-Verfahrens in Verbindung mit der Quasi-Linearisierungstechnik gelöst. Die Oberflächenreibung und die Wärme- und Stoffübertragung steigen mit der Permeabilität des Mediums, dem magnetischen Feld und dem Auftriebsparameter an. Die Wärme- und Stoffübertragung fällt stetig in Strömungsrichtung ab, wohingegen die Oberflächenreibung von Null ansteigt, ein Maximum erreicht und wieder auf Null abfällt. Die Oberflächenreibung und die Wärme- und Stoffübertragung werden signifikant von der Verteilung der Freistromgeschwindigkeit beeinflut. The transient boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting non-Newtonian power-law fluid in a stagnation region of a two-dimensional body in the presence of an applied magnetic field have been studied when the motion is induced impulsively from rest. The non-linear partial differential equations governing the flow and heat transfer have been solved by the homotopy analysis method and by an implicit finite-difference scheme. For some cases, analytical or approximate solutions have also been obtained. The special interest are the effects of the power-law index, magnetic parameter and the generalized Prandtl number on the surface shear stress and heat transfer rate. In all cases, there is a smooth transition from the transient state to steady state. The shear stress and heat transfer rate at the surface are found to be significantly influenced by the power-law index N except for large time and they show opposite behaviour for steady and unsteady flows. The magnetic field strongly affects the surface shear stress, but its effect on the surface heat transfer rate is comparatively weak except for large time. On the other hand, the generalized Prandtl number exerts strong influence on the surface heat transfer. The skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number decrease rapidly in a small interval 0<t*<1 and reach the steady-state values for t*≥4. 相似文献

Structure‐cytotoxicity relationship of di?/tri‐organotin(IV) derivatives of mandelic acid ( 1 – 4 ), L‐proline ( 5 – 7, 15, 16 ), and mixed ligand complexes of latter with 1,10‐phenanthroline ( 8 – 14 ) investigated on the basis of MTT assay against human cancer cell lines, viz. MCF‐7 (mammary cancer), HepG2 (liver cancer) and PC‐3 (prostate cancer) in vitro indicated that all complexes except methyl‐ and octyl‐ analogues displayed potential cytotoxicity. The most active one is dibutyltin(IV) mandelate ( 2 ) exhibiting IC50 2.03 ± 0.40, 0.98 ± 0.23 and 3.86 ± 1.68 μM against MCF‐7, HepG2 and PC‐3, respectively, which is ≈ 15 and 2.5 times against MCF‐7, 20 and 5 times against HepG2 and 5 and ≈ 3 times against PC‐3 more cytotoxic than cis‐platin and 5‐fluorouracil, respectively. Diorganotin(IV) derivatives of mandelic acid are more cytotoxic than triorganotin analogues. Organotin(IV) derivatives of L‐proline (except Bu3Sn(Pro) 16 ) are less cytotoxic than those of mandelic acid but their cytotoxicity is enhanced by complexion with 1,10‐phenanthroline. This may be due to the structural planarity and extended π system of 1,10‐phenanthroline which facilitates their transportation across the cell membrane and enhances the possibility of DNA intercalation over the planar L‐proline ring, and eventually, their DNA binding affinity so as to interfere with the cellular functions of DNA leading to apoptosis. Various biophysical experiments such as DNA fragmentation, acridine orange and comet assays, and flow cytometry assay using annexin V–fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and propidium iodide (PI) have been carried out in order to ascertain their mode of action. The observed results indicated that the major cause of cancer cell death is apoptosis, but a minor role played by necrosis cannot be excluded. It is concluded on the basis of the observed results that the nature and number of organic groups bonded to tin as well as the nature of counter anions play an important role in determining the cytotoxicity of organotin(IV) compounds. 相似文献

Optical packet switching provides high speed, data rate/format transparency, efficient use of bandwidth and flexibility. The
major problem in the implementation of “all-optical” switching is contention which occurs when two or more packets arrive
at the same time for the same destination. To resolve the contention, we have proposed an optical packet switch architecture
based on WDM loop buffer memory in the feedback configuration. In that architecture, the contending packets are stored in
a loop buffer module, and routed in the free time slots. The buffering duration in the recirculating loop is limited by a
circulation limit. The analysis was been done to obtain the maximum number of allowed circulations. This paper proposes improved
version of that optical packet switch architecture, to increase the number of maximum allowed circulations. The modification
is done either by adding an extra erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) in the original switch or by replacing the core space
