AbstractTwo iron(II)-rhenium(IV) compounds of general formula [FeII(dmf)6][ReIVX6] [X = Cl (1) and Br (2); dmf = N,N-dimethylformamide] have been prepared and characterized. X-ray powder diffraction measurements on samples of 1 and 2 support the same structure for both systems. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system with space group Pī. Each iron(II) is six-coordinate and bonded to six oxygens from six dmf molecules building a distorted octahedral environment. Rhenium(IV) is six-coordinate by six halide anions in an almost regular octahedral geometry. The magnetic properties were investigated from variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements performed on microcrystalline samples of 1 and 2, whose experimental data were reproduced by a model of two isolated paramagnetic centers [S = 2 (FeII) and S = 3/2 (ReIV)] with large values of zero-field splitting (zfs) parameter. 相似文献

The presence of positive Lyapunov exponents in a dynamical system is often taken to be equivalent to the chaotic behavior of that system. We construct a Bernoulli toral linked twist map which has positive Lyapunov exponents and local stable and unstable manifolds defined only on a set of measure zero. This is a deterministic dynamical system with the strongest stochastic property, yet it has positive Lyapunov exponents only on a set of measure zero. In fact we show that for any map in a certain class of piecewise linear Bernoulli toral linked twist maps, given any there is a Bernoulli toral linked twist map with positive Lyapunov exponents defined only on a set of measure zero such that is within of in the metric.

Crack-free monolithic gels were prepared from different mixtures of colloidal silica with a sol solution containing tetraethoxysilane, under powerful ultrasonic agitation (sonosol). Recently, information on the structure of these gels, inferred from N2 adsorption and mercury intrusion porosimetry, was presented. In the present paper, these data were used to construct structural models of the gels using Monte Carlo calculations on the basis of random close packing (RPC) premises. In addition, the structure of gels under study was investigated by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. The material can be described as a composite in which the sonogel is the matrix and the colloid particles the reinforcing phase. For low colloid content, the colloid forms discrete clusters, and the main structural characteristic of sonogels, i.e., a network of uniformly sized particles of approximately 3-4-nm radius, remains unmodified. However, for high colloid silica content, a multimode distribution appears, the structure is discontinuous, and only colloid aggregates larger than 100 nm are observed. For medium colloid content, aggregates of approximately 50-100 nm can be seen, but the sonogel structure extends throughout the whole material. Two ionic liquids (ILs), namely (S,S)-1-butyl-3-(2'-hydroxy-cyclohexyl)-3H-imidazol-1-ium tetrafluoroborate and (S,S)-1-butyl-3-(2'-acetyl-cyclohexyl)-3H-imidazol-1-ium tetrafluoroborate have been employed as stationary phases in capillary gas chromatography. These new phases exhibit a column efficiency of 1,600 and 2,100 plates m(-1) for IL 1 and IL 2, respectively, a wide operating temperature range and good thermal stability (bleeding temperature of 250 °C for IL 1 and 160 °C for IL 2). Inverse gas chromatography (GC) analyses were used to study the solvation properties of these ILs through a linear solvation energy model. The application of these ILs as new GC stationary phases was studied. These stationary phases exhibited unique selectivity for many organic substances, such as alkanes, ketones, esters, and aromatic compounds. The efficient separation of several mixtures containing compounds of different polarities and the good separation of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) and cis/trans isomers indicate that these ILs may be applicable as a new type of GC stationary phases. 相似文献
