Interaction ofZ-1,2-borylphosphinoalkene with ketenimine

N-Phenyl-C,C-diphenylketenimine adds toZ-1-butyl-I-dibutylboryl-2-diphenylphosphino-2-phenylethene to give 2,2,3-tributyl-6-diphenylmethylideno-1,4,5,5-tetraphenyl-1-aza-5-phosphonia-2-borataeyclohex-3-ene, which rearranges into 4,6-dibutyl-2-diphenylphosphino-1,1,3,5-tetraplienyl-3-aza-4-boradeca-1,5-diene upon heating. Interaction of E-2-dibutylboryl-1-phenyl-1-diphenylphosphinohex-1-ene with diphenylketene and benzoyl(phenyl)diazomethane

A new betaine, 5,6,6-tributyl-2-diphenylmethylene-3,3,4-triphenyl-1-oxa-3-phosphonia-6-boratacyclohex-4-ene, and1-(benzoyl(phenyl)methyleneamino]-4,5,5-tributyl-2,2,3-triphenyl-2-phospha-I-azonia-5-boratacyclopenta-1,3-diene were synthesized upon interaction of E-2-dibutylboryl-1-phenyl-1-diphenylphosphinohex-1-ene with diphenylketene and benzoyl(phenyl)diazomethane, respectively. Reaction of trialkyl phosphites with 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone

Conclusions Trialkyl phosphites react with 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone to give 2,2,2-trialkoxy-3,5-dimethyl-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,4,2-dioxaphospholanes, which slowly isomerize to trialkoxy--trifluoromethyl--(1-methyl-2,2-difluorovinyloxy)ethoxyfluorophosphoranes.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 4, pp. 910–914, April, 1980.

Synthesis and Antioxidant Activity of Sterically Hindered Phenol Derivatives of Carboxy- and Sulfobetaines

New multifunctional antioxidants based on carboxy- and sulfobetaines with sterically hindered phenol fragments were synthesized. The antioxidant capacity of the compounds determined in the reactions of their oxidation by electrogenerated bromine is comparable to that of ascorbic acid and ionol.     

New investigations on ferrofluidics: ferrofluidic marbles and magnetic-field-driven drops on superhydrophobic surfaces

The motion of ferrofluidic marbles on flat polymer substrates is reported. Nanopowders of polyvinylidene fluoride and gammaFe2O3 were used for the preparation of ferrofluidic marbles. The marbles are activated easily with an external magnetic field. A microfluidic device based on ferrofluidic marbles (the ferrofluidic bearing) is described. Velocities of marbles as high as 25+/-3 cm/s were registered. The sliding of ferrofluidic drops on superhydrophobic surfaces was studied. It was demonstrated that the threshold magnetic force necessary for the drop displacement depends linearly on the drop radius, thus the motion of the drop is defined by the processes occurring in the vicinity of the triple line only.     

First synthetic macrocyclic compounds in the series of <Emphasis Type="Italic">ent</Emphasis>-beyerane diterpenoids

New macrocyclic compounds were synthesized by reaction of 16-hydroxy-ent-beyeran-19-oic acid (derivative of the diterpenoid isosteviol with reduced ketone group) with adipic, suberic, and sebacic acid chlorides.
