On the sheaf of extendible ideals of topological algebras

In this paper a new sheaf for topological algebras, called the sheaf of extendible ideals, is introduced. It is shown that the sheaf space of this sheaf is uniformizable but not complete in general. The research of both of the authors was supported by Estonian Science Foundation grant 6205.     

On local optima in multiobjective combinatorial optimization problems

In this article, local optimality in multiobjective combinatorial optimization is used as a baseline for the design and analysis of two iterative improvement algorithms. Both algorithms search in a neighborhood that is defined on a collection of sets of feasible solutions and their acceptance criterion is based on outperformance relations. Proofs of the soundness and completeness of these algorithms are given.     

Existence of standing waves for dirac fields with singular nonlinearities

We prove the existence of stationary states for nonlinear Dirac equations of the form (E) $$i\sum\limits_{\mu = 0}^3 {\gamma ^\mu \partial _\mu \psi - M\psi + F\left( {\bar \psi \psi } \right)\psi = 0,} $$ whereM>0 andF is a singular self-interaction. In particular, in the model case whereF(s)=?s ^?α, for some 0<α<1, and for every ω>M, there exists a solution of (E) of the form ψ(t, x)=e ^iωt?(x), wherex ₀=t andx=(x ₁,x ₂,x ₃), such that ? has compact support. IF 0<α<1/3, then ? is of classC ¹. If 1/3<α<1, then ? is continuously differentiable, except on some sphere {|x|=R}, where |??| is infinite.

Generalized solutions are defined for stochastic evolution equations of the formdY _t =A ^* Y _t dt + dZ _t on the nuclear triplel(R ^d ) L²(R ^d ) l(R ^d ), whereA does not mapl(R ^d ) into itself. This example arises as the Langevin equation for the fluctuation limit of a system of particles migrating according to a symmetric stable process and undergoing critical branching in a random medium.The research of D. Peptide labeling using 188Re, 188Re-MAG3 and 153Sm-H1ETA: A comparison on their in vitro lipophilicity

Lanreotide peptide was labeled with ¹⁵³Sm-H₁ETA and ¹⁸⁸Re-MAG₃ in order to evaluate whether or not their conjugation to the peptide produce significant differences of the in vitro lipophilicity with respect to the ¹⁸⁸Re-lanreotide prepared by the direct labeling method (highly lipophilic). The differences of lipophilicity between the complexes, were evaluated using a reverse phase HPLC system. The measured lipophilicity of ¹⁵³Sm-H₁ETA-lanreotide, ¹⁸⁸Re-MAG₃-lanreotide and ¹⁸⁸Re-lanreotide was taken to be the capacity factor [k" = (t _R-t ₀)/t ₀ where t _R is the retention time and t ₀ is the dead time] for each of the complexes under identical chromatography conditions. Results showed that the in vitro lipophilicity decreased in the order ¹⁸⁸Re-lanreotide (direct labeling), ¹⁸⁸Re-MAG₃-lanreotide and ¹⁵³Sm-H₁ETA-lanreotide. Since the last one has a capacity factor (k") similar to that of ¹⁸⁸Re-MAG₃, some renal elimination for ¹⁵³Sm-H₁ETA-lanreotide could be expected, which probably would reduce the unnecessary radiation dose to normal tissues.     

Structural Study of Silica Xerogel Composites Containing Pd Aggregates

Composites containing Pd aggregates dispersed in amorphous silica are of interest from both a fundamental and applied point of view because of their attractive catalytic properties. The silica powders added with palladium, prepared by the sol-gel method, were studied using X-ray diffraction, and IR- and UV-Vis-spectrophotometry. Silica xerogel samples were prepared using a ethanol/H₂O/TEOS molar ratio of 4:11.6:1 and loaded with sodium tetrachloropalladate. The silica xerogel microstructure of the powders was studied as a function of annealing temperature. Attention was paid to the evolution of the glass matrix as well as the palladium aggregates in the SiO₂ matrix. We found in our samples partial crystallization of the glass matrix in form of quartz and cristobalite phases with palladium oxide and metallic palladium phase at 1000^∘C. The Rietveld refinement method was used in order to determine the percentage of the phase contents.
