We have measured the angular distributions of 1s photoelectrons excited by circularly and linearly polarized light from fixed-in-space CO and N2 molecules, in the vicinity of their shape resonances. A strong circular dichroism, i.e., a strong dependence on the sense of rotation of the polarization vector of the photons, is found for both molecules. State-of-the-art one-electron multiple scattering and partially correlated random phase approximation calculations are in good agreement with many, but not all, aspects of the experimental data.  相似文献

The inhibiting impact of natural aqueous extracts of some plants such as curcumin, parsley and cassia bark extracts for the corrosion of carbon steel (C-steel) in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was inspected utilizing some techniques such as galvanostatic and potentiodynamic anodic polarization and weight loss measurements. Outcomes indicated that the percentage inhibition efficiency increases with increasing the concentration of the extract due to its horizontal adsorption on the C-steel surface. The process of adsorption is followed by the Temkin isotherm. These natural extracts acted as pitting corrosion inhibitors by shifting the pitting potential to more noble values. The sequence of inhibition efficiency of the natural extracts decreases in the following order: cassia bark extract > parsley extract > curcumin extract. This arrangement is related to the molecular size of the major components of the three natural extracts used.  相似文献

The sol-gel processing method was used as an alternative route to obtain Nb2O5 phase homogenously dispersed in the SiO2 matrix, improving the thermal stability of the Brønsted acid sites, Nb-OH and Nb-OH-Si groups. The local niobium structure and the influence of the amount of niobia on the surface of the Nb2O5/SiO2 system were studied by XAS and XPS, respectively. For the samples calcined at 423 and 873 K, the 3d5/2 BE values are at ca. 208.2 eV, indicating an ionic character for Nb(V) species in the SiO2 matrix, probably associated to Si-O-Nb linkages. The features of Nb K-edge XANES spectra of samples show the absence of NbO species. The Nb K-edge EXAFS oscillations exhibit a shoulder at ca. 5.6 Å−1, which probably arises from Nb-O-Si. This fact corroborates the EXAFS simulation data of the second coordination shell, whose best fitting is achieved with three distances, two Nb-Nb lengths and one Nb-Si.  相似文献

High voltage electrodes for electrophoresis have been integrated into a polymer layer that can be reversibly bound to glass microchips for electrophoretic separations. By using the liquid precursor to the polymer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), platinum electrodes and reservoirs can be positioned prior to solidification, providing a simple and flexible method for electrode interface construction. Field strengths up to 875 V cm(-1) over an 8 cm separation channel can be applied to the system without any loss in performance of the interface. The interface can function as an electro-fluidic interface between the high voltage power supply and the separation channel and, when reversibly sealed to an etched glass plate, functions as a cover plate establishing a hybrid PDMS-glass microchip in which the electrodes are directly integrated onto the device. The versatility of this approach is not only demonstrated by separating DNA fragments in a novel buffer sieving matrix, but also with the molecular diagnostic analysis of a variety of DNA samples for Duschenne Muscular Dystrophy and cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, using both microchip interface configurations.  相似文献

Laser-induced fluorescence is an extremely sensitive method for detection in chemical separations. In addition, it is well-suited to detection in small volumes, and as such is widely used for capillary electrophoresis and microchip-based separations. This review explores the detailed instrumental conditions required for sub-zeptomole, sub-picomolar detection limits. The key to achieving the best sensitivity is to use an excitation and emission volume that is matched to the separation system and that, simultaneously, will keep scattering and luminescence background to a minimum. We discuss how this is accomplished with confocal detection, 90 degrees on-capillary detection, and sheath-flow detection. It is shown that each of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages, but that all can be used to produce extremely sensitive detectors for capillary- or microchip-based separations. Analysis of these capabilities allows prediction of the optimal means of achieving ultrasensitive detection on microchips.  相似文献

Thirteen geometric isomers of retinol, retinal and retinal oxime were resolved in a single chromatographic run on two 250 X 4 mm 5-micron LiChrosorb Si 60 columns in series, using 11.2% ethyl acetate, 1.4% 1-octanol and 2% dioxane in hexane as the mobile phase. All the 11-cis and all-trans isomers of retinol and retinal oxime were completely resolved from each other and from the 9-cis and 13-cis isomers. This chromatographic procedure should be particularly useful for quantifying geometric isomers of retinoids in methylene chloride-hydroxylamine extracts of biological samples such as ocular tissues.  相似文献

Silica monolithic columns suitable for implementation on microchips have been evaluated by ion-exchange capillary electrochromatography. Two different silica monoliths were created from the alkyl silane, tetramethyl orthosilicate (TMOS), by introducing a water-soluble organic polymer, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), with varying molecular weights into the prehydrolyzed sol. Silica monoliths created using 10 kDa PEO were found to have a much more closed gel structure with a smaller percentage of pores in the microm size range than gels created using 100 kDa PEO. Additionally, the size of the mesopores in the 100 kDa PEO monolith was 5 nm, while those in the 10 kDa PEO gel were only 3 nm. This resulted in a strong dependence of the electroosmotic flow (EOF) on the ionic strength of the background electrolyte, with substantial pore flow through the nm size pores observed in the 10 kDa PEO gel. The chromatographic performance of the monolithic columns was evaluated by ion-exchange electrochromatography, with ion-exchange sites introduced via dynamic coating with the cationic polymer, poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDAC). Separating a mixture of inorganic anions, the 10 kDa PEO monolithic columns showed a higher effective capacity than the 100 kDa PEO column.  相似文献
