A simple, sensitive and efficient spectrophotometric method is proposed for rapid determination of uranium using arsenazo-III in perchloric acid. The reaction between arsenazo-III and U(VI) was instantaneous in 3 mol L−1 HClO4. N-cetyl-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromide was used for increasing the sensitivity and selectivity of the complex. The absorbance remains stable for over 48 h in the presence of surfactant. The method allows the determination of uranium in the range of 1–20 μg g−1 with a molar absorptivity of 3.9 × 105 dm3 mol−1 cm−1 at 681 nm. Sandell’s sensitivity of the complex was calculated to be 6.4 ng cm−2 at λmax 681 nm. A significant enhancement was achieved in the sensitivity of the proposed method whereas, Relative Standard Deviation was reduced from 4.5 to 1.7% in the presence of surfactant. Among various diverse ions studied, fluoride, cyanide, citrate, sulfate and phosphate interfere beyond the tolerance limit. Among cations only Cr3+ and Co2+ decreased the normal absorbance. The validity of the reported method was tested by determining uranium in the environmental water samples and Standard Reference Material. The results agreed closely with the reported values. The proposed method is new, easy in operation and better in sensitivity than many of the existing methods.  相似文献

We report the observation of the b-->d penguin-dominated decay B;{0}-->K;{*0}K[over ];{*0} with a sample of 383.2+/-4.2 million BB[over ] pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e;{+}e;{-} collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The measured branching fraction is B(B;{0}-->K;{*0}K[over ];{*0})=[1.28_{-0.30};{+0.35}+/-0.11]x10;{-6} and the fraction of longitudinal polarization is f_{L}(B;{0}-->K;{*0}K[over ];{*0})=0.80_{-0.12};{+0.10}+/-0.06. The first error quoted is statistical and the second systematic. We also obtain an upper limit at the 90% confidence level on the branching fraction for B(B;{0}-->K;{*0}K;{*0})<0.41x10;{-6}.  相似文献

We measure time-integrated CP-violating asymmetries of neutral charmed mesons in the modes D0 --> K(-) K(+) and D0 --> pi(-) pi(+) with the highest precision to date by using D0 --> K(-) pi(+) decays to correct detector asymmetries. An analysis of 385.8 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector yields values of a(CP)(KK)=(0.00+/-0.34(stat)+/-0.13(syst))% and a(CP)(pipi)=(-0.24+/-0.52(stat)+/-0.22(syst))%, which agree with standard model predictions.  相似文献

The design and development of the fluorescence reporting molecules for the trace recognition of the metallic ions in the aqueous, mixed organic aqueous media, environmental specimen, living things e.g., body fluids, serum, urine etc is the evergreen research area. Among several methodologies utilized for these purposes, the fluorescent techniques have wonderful impact in the era of metal sensor development due to their acclamatory features of non-invasive detection process and appreciable sensitivity. The utilization of small organic molecules for the sensation of metallic ions through the fluorescent techniques harvested the wonderful results having some interesting features of chromogenic response on metal binding, robustness in the preparation and applicability to establish the metallic accumulation level inside the live cells via bioimaging studies. The detailed knowledge and background about the several reported chemosening strategies have the utmost importance in order to understand or to design the novel molecules for metal sensing purposes. The objective of the presents review was to compile the best ever used copper sensing strategies via fluorescent means in the running decade. We have summarized the values of optical positions of the spectral lines, spectral shifting upon metal binding, binding/association/dissociation constants, chromogenic changes in the reaction mixture, proposed complexation mechanism of the ligand with the copper, ligand sensitivities toward the copper recognition, binding stoichiometries and the detailed bioimaging results where applicable.  相似文献

Multiscale glass fiber epoxy matrix composites containing nanodiamonds were fabricated using vacuum bagging technique. Three different loadings of nanodiamonds were incorporated in epoxy resin after their functionalization through ozone-treatment, i.e., 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 wt%. The functionalization of nanodiamonds was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy, which improved the dispersion of nanodiamond in epoxy resin thus improving the mechanical properties. Tensile, compression, flexural and interlaminar shear properties of the composites were improved. The tensile, compression and flexural strengths improved up to 36, 56 and 30% by the addition of 0.5 wt% nanodiamonds while the corresponding moduli increased to 30, 125 and 46%, respectively. An improvement of 38% in interlaminar shear strength was observed. The microscopy of the composites was performed using optical and electron microscopy and proper impregnation of glass fibers and the absence of the agglomerates of nanodiamonds were ensured. The homogeneous dispersion of nanodiamonds and their adhering role at fiber/matrix interface improved the mechanical properties of the composites. The developed composites are ideal candidate materials for engineering applications demanding high specific mechanical properties.  相似文献

The differential and integrated cross section data for the hypercharge exchange reactions πp→K°(1420)Λ, K - p→f°Λ and K - p→fΛ at 4 GeV/c are fitted by using as imple Regge pole model with phenorncnological residue functions. Gui Zhen Cao is an herbal formulation that has been documented in Chinese traditional medicine as a remedy for diarrhea, dysentery, inflammation, and toxicity. The sources of this formulation (Bidens pilosa L., Bidens biternata (Lour.) Merr. & Sherff, Bidens bipinnata L.) are also listed in ethnomedicinal reports all over the world. In this study, all these plants are tested for in vitro anticandida activity. A quantitative evaluation of the phytochemicals in all these plants indicated that their vegetative parts are rich in tannins, saponins, oxalates, cyanogenic glycoside and lipids; moreover, the roots have high percentages of alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenols. The results indicated significant anticandida activity, especially for the hexane extract of B. bipinnata leaves which inhibited C. albicans (42.54%), C. glabrata (46.98%), C. tropicalis (50.89%), C. krusei (40.56%), and C. orthopsilosis (50.24%). The extract was subjected to silica gel chromatography and 220 fractions were obtained. Purification by High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Diode-Array Detection (HPLC–DAD) and Gas Chromatography tandem Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) analysis led to the identification of two anticandida compounds: dehydroabietic and linoleic acid having an inhibition of 85 and 92%, respectively.  相似文献

The propagation of ion acoustic (IA) solitary waves is investigated in a magnetized electron-positron-ion (EPI) plasma with Tsalli distributed electrons and Maxwellian positrons. A non-linear Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)-type equation is derived for the potential by using the reductive perturbation method (RPM), and its solitary wave solution is analysed. For a given set of plasma parameters, the present model supports only compressive IA solitary structures. It is found that the variation of various relevant plasma parameters, like the nonextensive parameter q, temperature ratio σ , direction cosine lz , the positron concentration γ and the magnetic field strength Ω significantly alter the characteristic properties of IA solitary waves.  相似文献
