High efficiency single layer blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) without any charge transport layer were developed. A mixed host of spirobifluorene based phosphine oxide (SPPO13) and 1, 1-bis[(di-4-tolylamino)phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC) was used as the host in the emitting layer. A high maximum external quantum efficiency of 15.8% and a quantum efficiency of 8.6% at 1000 cd/m2 were achieved in the single-layer blue PHOLEDs without any charge transport layer. The maximum power efficiency and power efficiency at 1000 cd/m2 were 31.4 and 16.9 lm/W, respectively.  相似文献

Luminescence efficiency of self-activated CaWO4 under 147 nm vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation excitation is about 90% of that of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ (BAM), the commercial blue plasma display panel (PDP) phosphor. However, the color purity and the particle size of the former needs substantial modification before it can be considered for application in PDP. CaWO4:Tm exhibits Tm3+ emission peaks in the blue region due to energy transfer from WO4 to Tm3+ ions but the overall emission intensity under 147 nm excitation is reduced when compared to that of CaWO4.  相似文献

In this study, two types of nasal-cavity-attached fiber-optic respiration sensors have been fabricated for noninvasive respiratory monitoring. One is a silver halide optical-fiber-based respiration sensor that can measure the variations of infrared radiation generated by the respiratory airflow from a nasal cavity. The other is a thermochromic-pigment-based fiber-optic respiration sensor that can measure the intensity of reflected light which changes owing to color variations of the temperature-sensing film according to the temperature difference between inspiratory and expiratory air. We have demonstrated the similarities of the respiratory signals using the fiber-optic respiration sensors and the temperature transducer of the BIOPAC? system. In addition, we verified that respiratory signals without the deterioration of the MR image can be obtained using the fiber-optic respiration sensors. It is anticipated that the proposed noninvasive fiberoptic respiration sensors will be highly effective for respiratory monitoring of a patient during MRI procedures.  相似文献

The complex crossed structures with a polymorph of calcite, termed a chalky layer, which make up much of the shell of an oyster, are composed of flames and leaflets. Two layers, folia and the chalky layer in the giant Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) were examined using SEM (scanning electron microscope), micro-area-XRD (X-ray diffraction) and FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectrometer) to determine their morphologies and component characteristics. The chalky layer was also tested using microindentation to assess its mechanical properties, and a microcrack was generated to study the fracture mechanism of the chalky layer. From an analysis of the secondary protein structure, it was shown that the ordered structures of the two layers, α-helix and β-structure, are similar but that the unordered structures are different. Moreover, the foliated rods at the interface of the chalky layer play a key role in the crystal growth of the chalky layers. Comparing the morphology and the preferred orientation of foliated laths, the advantages of the relatively high density and low hardness of the chalky layer have interesting implications regarding the development of sophisticated complex composites.  相似文献

"Rainbow trapping" has been proposed as a scheme for localized storage of broadband electromagnetic radiation in metamaterials and plasmonic heterostructures. Here, we articulate the dispersion and power flow characteristics of rainbow trapping structures, and show that tapered waveguide structures composed of dielectric core and metal cladding are best suited for light trapping. A metal-insulator-metal taper acts as a cascade of optical cavities with different resonant frequencies, exhibiting a large quality factor and small effective volume comparable to conventional plasmonic resonators.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of post-annealing on the structure, surface morphology and nanomechanical properties of ZnO thin films doped with a nominal concentration of 3 at.% Ga (ZnO:Ga) are investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and nanoindentation techniques. The ZnO:Ga thin films were deposited on the glass substrates at room temperature by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. Results revealed that the as-deposited ZnO:Ga thin films were polycrystalline albeit the low deposition temperature. Post-annealing carried out at 300, 400 and 500 °C, respectively, has resulted in progressive increase in both the average grain size and the surface roughness of the ZnO:Ga thin film, in addition to the improved thin films crystallinity. Moreover, the hardness and Young's modulus of ZnO:Ga thin films are measured by a Berkovich nanoindenter operated with the continuous contact stiffness measurements (CSM) option. The hardness and Young's modulus of ZnO:Ga thin films increased as the annealing temperature increased from 300 to 500 °C, with the best results being obtained at 500 °C.  相似文献

This study investigated the surface characteristics and in vitro biocompatibility of a titanium (Ti) oxide layer incorporating the manganese ions (Mn) obtained by hydrothermal treatment with the expectation of utilizing potent integrin-ligand binding enhancement effect of Mn for future applications as an endosseous implant surface. The surface characteristics were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy, thin-film X-ray diffractometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, optical profilometry and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). The in vitro biocompatibility of the Mn-containing Ti oxide surface was evaluated in comparison with untreated bare Ti using a mouse calvaria-derived osteoblastic cell line (MC3T3-E1). The hydrothermal treatment produced a nanostructured Mn-incorporated Ti oxide layer approximately 0.6 μm thick. ICP-AES analysis demonstrated that the Mn ions were released from the hydrothermally treated surface into the solution. Mn incorporation notably decreased cellular attachment, spreading, proliferation, alkaline phosphatase activity, and osteoblast phenotype gene expression compared with the bare Ti surface (p < 0.05). The results indicate that the Mn-incorporation into the surface Ti oxide layer has no evident beneficial effects on osteoblastic cell function, but instead, actually impaired cell behavior.  相似文献
