Test for the existence of finite-dimensional Chebyshev subspaces in Lϕ spaces

Conditions for occurrence of long-chain oxidation reaction of organic compounds by persulfate in an aqueous medium

Using a kinetic model of the routes of unbranched radical-chain processes, an expression was found for the rate of the aqueous solution. The possible conditions for the occurrence of the process over a wide range of concentrations of persulfate and the organic compound were analyzed.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Éksperimental'naya Khimiya, Vol. 26, No. 3, pp. 360–365, May–June, 1990.     

Voltammetric determination of nitrate,perchlorate and iodide at a hanging electrolyte drop electrode

The use of a hanging electrolyte drop electrode is examined for the determination of nitrate, perchlorate and iodide. A three-electrode system was used with a polarographic analyzer. Crystal violet dicarbollylcobaltate(III) electrolyte in the nitrobenzene phase and magnesium sulphate in the aqueous phase with a Pb/PbSO₄ reference electrode made it possible to increase the viable potential range. For nitrate, the peak current/concentration relation was linear over the range 0–5 × 10^?5 M, and nitrate in potable water was easily determined.     

Statistical approach to the antiferromagnetic ground state problem

The statistical approach is adopted in an attempt to find the antiferromagnetic ground state. As a result an eigenstate of the Heisenberg hamiltonian is found which is not the true ground state, but which could serve as a useful starting point for other methods.The author is grateful to ing. Many-body diagrammatic treatment of electronicg-tensor

The many-body diagrammatic theory of electronicg-tensor components taking into account also the correlation effects is elaborated. The resulting perturbation expressions are used for calculation ofg-tensor components of some small open shell systems within the INDO semiempirical method.     

Effect of microwave irradiation on the reactivity of chloroarenes in Suzuki—Miyaura reaction

Simple catalytic systems for the Suzuki—Miyaura reaction of aryl chlorides under microwave conditions were tested. Microwave irradiation facilitated the reaction course. The catalyst, base, and solvent effect were studied and two reaction systems offered reasonable to high yields within a short time.     

GABRIELA setup for nuclear spectroscopy of the transfermium element isotopes at the VASSILISSA separator

The JINR (Dubna)-IN2P3 (France) Collaboration project aimed at the α, β γ, spectroscopy of the transfermium element isotopes using heavy-ion beams of the U-400 cyclotron and the modernized recoil separator VASSILISSA was launched at Dubna. During the first full-scale experiment in September–October 2004, nobelium and lawrencium isotopes produced in the ⁴⁸Ca + ^207,208Pb → ^255,256No* and ⁴⁸Ca + ²⁰⁹Bi → ²⁵⁷Lr* reactions were studied.
