The microstructure of organogels formed upon the addition of tiny amounts of water to a solution of lecithin in fatty acid esters (viz. isopropylpalmitate and ethyloleate) was investigated by means of molecular self-diffusion measurements. In both systems lecithin and water form disconnected cylindrical reverse micelles. The ternary phase map for the lecithin/water/isopropylpalmitate has been investigated in detail. The organogel exists in a narrow region close to the lecithin-oil binary axis; for higher water content equilibrium between lamellae and reverse micelles is found. Lamellar phase occupies the lecithin-rich region, close to the lecithin corner (with the exception of a small island of hexagonal phase) and coexists with neat water close to the water-lecithin axis. The remaining part of the phase map shows the three-phase coexistence of water, oil, and lamellar phase. 相似文献

Syntheses of three non-brominated analogs of amathamide A (1), a natural alkaloid isolated from the Tasmanian marine bryozoan Amathia wilsoni, are described. Antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomona aeruginosa, and Candida albicans was tested. Test results for amathamide A (1) showed a weak activity against C. albicans and E. coli. The three non-natural analogs 2-4 proved to be inactive compounds. 相似文献

We study Taylor diffusion for the case when the diffusion transverse to the bulk motion is a persistent random walk on a one-dimensional lattice. This is mapped onto a Markovian walk where each lattice site has two internal states. For such a model we find the effective diffusion coefficient which depends on the rate of transition among internal states of the lattice. The Markovian limit is recovered in the limit of infinite rate of transitions among internal states; the initial conditions have no role in the leading-order time-dependent term of the effective dispersion, but a strong effect on the constant term. We derive a continuum limit of the problem presented and study the asymptotic behavior of such limit. 相似文献

We characterized the structure of tungstated zirconia (WOx–ZrO2) by combining X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and High Resolution Electron Microscopy (HREM) together with molecular simulations. Our results indicate that the structure of this material consists of metastable tetragonal ZrO2 nanoparticles (<20 nm in diameter) covered by a few-nanometers thick low-crystallinity surface layer formed by tungsten oxospecies (WOx). Although the X-ray diffraction pattern matched the spectra of the tetragonal ZrO2 bulk phase the lattice fringes of the ZrO2 nanoparticles observed by HREM were locally distorted, presumably as a result of the interaction with the surface WOx layer. The local interplanar distances of the surface layer were close to those present in different bulk tungsten oxocompounds, and its variability was also an indication of the WOx–ZrO2 interaction. Molecular simulations corroborated our structural assignment. The results presented here are a direct evidence for the presence of a surface WOx layer in the case of WOx–ZrO2. The method of scaling algebras, which has been introduced earlier as a means for analyzing the short-distance behavior of quantum field theories in the setting of the model-independent, operator algebraic approach, is extended to the case of fields carrying superselection charges. In doing so, consideration will be given to strictly localizable charges (DHR-type superselection charges) as well as to charges which can only be localized in regions extending to spacelike infinity (BF-type superselection charges). A criterion for the preservance of superselection charges in the short-distance scaling limit is proposed. Consequences of this preservance of superselection charges are studied. We report evidence of coexisting period stochastic resonance (PSR) and coherence resonance (CR) phenomena in an electrochemical cell. The anodic voltage (V) in the cell is chosen such that the anodic current (I) exhibits excitable fixed point behavior. Subsequently, the anodic voltage is modulated by an external perturbation that is a composite of a subthreshold periodic pulse signal and Gaussian white noise (GWN). As the amplitude of the GWN is increased, the regularity of the invoked dynamics is analyzed using normalized variance curve. The calculated resonance curve shows a double minima, implying the existence of two optimum noise levels where enhanced regularity of the induced spike sequence is detected. We present a generalization of entanglement based on the idea that entanglement is relative to a distinguished subspace of observables rather than a distinguished subsystem decomposition. A pure quantum state is entangled relative to such a subspace if its expectations are a proper mixture of those of other states. Many information-theoretic aspects of entanglement can be extended to this observable-based setting, suggesting new ways of measuring and classifying multipartite entanglement. By going beyond the distinguishable-subsystem framework, generalized entanglement also provides novel tools for probing quantum correlations in interacting many-body systems. 相似文献

We have developed a two steps strategy for the parallel synthesis of highly diversified quinolin-ones. In the first step we have combined and improved different synthetic methods for generating quinolin-4-ones bearing four different substitutions at specific positions using round bottomed flasks. The synthesis was assessed for a large number of substituted quinolin-4-ones. In the second step, the improved method was adapted to a parallel array synthesis using a 12 positions carrousel as demonstrated for the synthesis of 42-variable quinolin-4-ones. The first combinatorial library set 14(a-x) was obtained with a chemical purity of more than 95% without purification, the second library set 15(a-r), which included two synthetic steps, needed combinatorial purification using an innovative parallel purifier. The proposed approach contributes to a more extensive diversification of molecular scaffolds in general and provides access to highly substituted quinolinones in particular. 相似文献

We examine the fluid-solid transition for a hard-disk system. By counting the near neighbors in the average configurations of a grand-canonical Monte Carlo simulation, this enables us to relate the thermodynamic transition with the rigidity theory, since we find that the coordination number in the fluid-solid transition is close to the coordination number predicted by a mean field rigidity theory, due to dynamical jamming of particles, where the contact region between disks is the radial ring outside a disk with a maximum allowed coordination number that is not bigger than six. Using these ideas, we were able to produce a continuous glass-like transition when nucleation of rigidity is suppressed. 相似文献
