CuAg core–shell nanoparticles are synthesized by ultra-high vacuum thermal evaporation. We show on this system how the Energy-Filtered
Transmission Electron Microscopy (EFTEM) technique allows one to improve the characterization by precisely pointing out the
formation of core–shell arrangements in bimetallic nanoparticle assemblies. A criterion to measure the shell thickness from
EFTEM images on unique core–shell nanoparticles is defined, that can be used for core–shell nanoparticles of any sizes, with
shell thicknesses over 1 nm. It is based on the intensity variation along a line drawn across a core–shell nanoparticle on
a EFTEM image. This criterion has been validated by a close comparison of the shell thickness measurements performed in this
work and the ones obtained by acoustic micro-Raman spectroscopy. Using this criterion, we report a strong correlation between
the size of the Cu cores and the formation of the core–shell arrangements in the nanoparticle assembly studied in this work.
The influence of the Cu core shape is also evidenced. The characterisation of such systems using High Resolution TEM (HRTEM)

Three-photon absorption in a GaAsP photodiode is used for what is believed to be the first time for nonlinear optical autocorrelation at wavelengths from 1.4 to 1.6microm . Theoretical intensity dependence and contrast ratios are achieved, and the ratio of the three- to the two-photon-absorption coefficient is measured. Finally, it is demonstrated that pulse asymmetry can be measured with no direction-of-time ambiguity by use of unbalanced three-photon-absorption autocorrelation. 相似文献

A time-dependent box model is developed to calculate oxygen isotope compositions of bone phosphate as a function of environmental and physiological parameters. Input and output oxygen fluxes related to body water and bone reservoirs are scaled to the body mass. The oxygen fluxes are evaluated by stoichiometric scaling to the calcium accretion and resorption rates, assuming a pure hydroxylapatite composition for the bone and tooth mineral. The model shows how the diet composition, body mass, ambient relative humidity and temperature may control the oxygen isotope composition of bone phosphate. The model also computes how bones and teeth record short-term variations in relative humidity, air temperature and delta18O of drinking water, depending on body mass. The documented diversity of oxygen isotope fractionation equations for vertebrates is accounted for by our model when for each specimen the physiological and diet parameters are adjusted in the living range of environmental conditions. 相似文献

A series of 10 new carbohydrate-substituted bipyridines were prepared from 2,2′-bipyridine-3,3′-dicarboxylic acid, itself easily available from ortho-phenanthroline. As a preliminary exploration of their use as chiral ligands, Cu(II)-catalysed asymmetric electrophilic fluorination of model β-ketoesters using these simple and easily accessible chiral bipyridines was studied. The biodistribution and metabolism of 14C-labeled disulfonated and trisulfonated gallium phthalocyanine (Ga-PcS) was studied in radiation-induced fibrosarcoma tumor-bearing C3H mice. The [14C]Ga-PcS compounds were prepared via the condensation of [14C]phthalic acid and sulfophthalic acid in the presence of gallium chloride and characterized by their spectroscopic and chromatographic properties. The tissue concentrations of the dyes was measured by scintillation counting of the 14C and by extraction and fluorescence measurements. Elevated dye levels were found in the liver, lungs, kidneys and spleen as well as in the tumor. Lower sulfonation of Ga-PcS favored liver and spleen uptake whereas higher dye sulfonation resulted in greater kidney uptake. Both dyes showed high tumor uptake with peak concentrations exceeding those of most tissues except for the liver in the case of Ga-PcS2. The highest tumor uptake was observed with Ga-PcS3. Both dyes were slowly excreted from the body. The liver-feces pathway was favored in the case of Ga-PcS2 with high activities persisting in the liver, even after 21 days. The Ga-PcS3 was preferentially excreted via the kidney-urine pathway. High performance liquid chromatography analysis of the liver and tumor extracts of [14C]Ga-PcS3-treated animals did not reveal desulfonation of the dye. However, urine analysis showed the presence of radioactive metabolites lacking the characteristic phthalocyanine absorption. 相似文献

In this paper, the one-way absorption property in one-dimensional dielectric/metal photonic crystal structure with a dielectric defect layer is studied. The effects of incident angle and state of polarization on one-way absorption behaviour of the anti-resonant (AR) mode are investigated. The normally incident wave from left to right propagation is totally allowed to penetrate to the structure but right to left propagation totally reflected at the same wavelength. It is found that, with increasing of the incident angle, the AR mode shifts to the lower wavelengths and its intensity decreases. Simultaneously, another AR mode with reversed one-way property appears at higher wavelength. The one-way behaviour on absorption is observed at the both states of polarizations but is localized on different wavelengths. Those effects, are suggesting that the proposed structure can be used as a direction sense polarization splitter or reflector/antireflector device. 相似文献
