We describe our full report of the catalytic asymmetric addition of simple and functionalized dialkylzinc reagents to a broad range of saturated ketones and enones. The functionalized organozinc reagents contain esters, silyl ethers, alkyl chlorides, and alkyl bromides. In general, the resulting tertiary alcohol products are isolated with high ee's. With some substrates, yields are low as a result of the formation of aldol byproducts. Most substrates undergo additions with good yields reaching as high as 91%.  相似文献

A fractionated illumination scheme in which a cumulative fluence of 100 J cm(-2) is delivered in two equal light fractions separated by a dark interval of 2 h has been shown to considerably increase the efficacy of 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA)-photodynamic therapy (PDT). The efficacy of such a scheme is further increased if the fluence of the first light fraction is reduced to 5 J cm(-2). We have investigated the relationship between the PDT response and the kinetics of protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) fluorescence in the SKH1 HR hairless mouse for first fraction fluences below 5 J cm(-2) delivered 4 h after the application of ALA and 10 J cm(-2) delivered 2 h after the application of ALA. Illumination is performed using 514 nm at a fluence rate of 50 mW cm(-2). Reducing the fluence of the first fraction to 2.5 J cm(-2) does not result in significantly different visual skin damage. The PDT response, however, is significantly reduced if the fluence is lowered to 1 J cm(-2), but this illumination scheme (1 + 99 J cm(-2)) remains significantly more effective than a single illumination of 100 J cm(-2). A first light fraction of 10 J cm(-2) can be delivered 2 h earlier, 2 h after the application of ALA, without significant reduction in the PDT response compared with 5 + 95 J cm(-2) delivered 4 and 6 h after the application of ALA. The kinetics of PpIX fluorescence are consistent with those reported previously by us and do not explain the significant increase in PDT response with a two-fold illumination scheme. Histological sections of the illuminated volume showed a trend toward increasing extent and depth of necrosis for the two-fold illumination scheme in which the first light fraction is 5 J cm(-2), compared with a single illumination scheme.  相似文献

The dimer, trimer, and tetramer of 1,11-dodecadiyne, HC?C? (CH2)8? C?CH, were synthesized. The solid-state polymerization of the dimer was investigated by infrared (IR) spectroscopy. IR bands due to the diacetylene moiety were identified through the comparison of the IR spectra of the dimer, trimer, and tetramer. The dimer was found to have two polymorphs, melt-crystallized and solution-crystallized. Both of the polymorphs undergo solid-state polymerization by exposure to γ-ray or UV irradiation. The former has higher polymerizability for the diacetylene moiety than the latter. The solid-state polymerization of the terminal acetylene group was not observed. It is shown that the previously reported dimer structure in which both the diacetylene and terminal acetylene groups are polymerized to form an inherently electrically conducting polymer is incorrect. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Octahedral, six‐coordinate Co2+ can exist in two spin states: S = 3/2 and S = 1/2. The difference in energy between high spin (S = 3/2) and low spin (S = 1/2) is dependent on both the ligand mix and coordination stereochemistry. B3LYP calculations on combinations of neutral imidazole, NH3, and H2O ligands show that low‐spin isomers are stabilized by axial H2O ligands and in structures that also include trans pairs of equatorial NH3 and protonated imidazole ligands, spin crossover structures are predicted from spin state energy differences. Occupied Co d orbitals from the DFT calculations provide a means of estimating effective ligand strength for homoleptic and mixed ligand combinations. The diversity of distinct covalent forms of proteins (the proteome) greatly exceeds the number of proteins predicted by DNA coding capacities owing to directed posttranslational modifications. Enzymes dedicated to such protein modifications include 500 human protein kinases, 150 protein phosphatases, and 500 proteases. The major types of protein covalent modifications, such as phosphorylation, acetylation, glycosylation, methylation, and ubiquitylation, can be classified according to the type of amino acid side chain modified, the category of the modifying enzyme, and the extent of reversibility. Chemical events such as protein splicing, green fluorescent protein maturation, and proteasome autoactivations also represent posttranslational modifications. An understanding of the scope and pattern of the many posttranslational modifications in eukaryotic cells provides insight into the function and dynamics of proteome compositions.  相似文献

Zn(II) and Cu(II) porphyrins with beta-conjugated barbiturate functional groups have low-energy electronic transitions which are unusual in that there are two strong bands in the Soret region. Resonance excitation of the two bands shows that each has features characteristic of both the porphyrin and barbiturate groups, with some perturbation to these features caused by the interaction of the two chromophores. The resonance Raman (RR) spectrum (lambda(exc)=413.1 nm) of the 412 nm band shows two bands at 1722 and 1743 cm(-1) attributable to C==O stretches in the substituent. Changes in frequency of porphyrin core modes due to the differing metal centres are reproduced by density functional theory calculations. The Q band RR spectra show modes with anomalous polarization which may be attributed to A(2g) modes, however no overtone or combination bands are observed.  相似文献

Peptide mass fingerprinting by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI)-mass spectrometry (MS) is one of the standard high-throughput methods for protein identification today. Traditionally this method has been based on spotting peptide mixtures onto MALDI targets. While this method works well for more abundant proteins, low-abundance proteins mixed with high-abundance proteins tend to go undetected due to ion suppression effects, instrumental dynamic range limitations and chemical noise interference. We present an alternative approach where liquid chromatography (LC) effluent is continuously collected as linear tracks on a MALDI target. In this manner the chromatographic separation is spatially preserved on the target, which enables generation of off-line LC-MS and LC-MS/MS data by MALDI. LC-MALDI sample collection provides improved sensitivity and dynamic range, spatial resolution of peptides along the sample track, and permits peptide mass mapping of low-abundance proteins in mixtures containing high-abundance proteins. In this work, standard and ribosomal protein digests are resolved and captured using LC-MALDI sample collection and analyzed by MALDI-TOF-MS.  相似文献

We show how the Q2 evolution of gluon jets can be used to provide indirect but strong evidence for the three-gluon vertex of QCD. We propose looking for this evolution in the QQ¯3G hadrons decay of successive 1 3S1 quarkonium states. The results apply to other processes if G-jets can be isolated.  相似文献

We discuss the process $$e^ + e^ - \to Q\bar Q \to 3gluons \to 3jets$$ with attention to the kinematics and observability of the jets. We also show how to check the gluon spin through jet or hadron angular distributions. Gluon flavor can be checked by looking for quantum number correlations between opposite jets. We predict that correlations exist off resonance for \(e^ + e^ - \to q\bar q\) , but not on resonance for \(Q\bar Q \to 3g\) .  相似文献
