Relatively few constructions are known of negative Latin square type Partial Difference Sets (PDSs), and most of the known constructions are in elementary abelian groups. We present a product construction that produces negative Latin square type PDSs, and we apply this product construction to generate examples in p-groups of exponent bigger than p.  相似文献

Wrinkles with two distinct wavelengths formed sequentially on the same surface are investigated. A series of aligned wrinkles are formed through local strain application on a partially crosslinked elastomer. After the formation of these primary wrinkles, the elastomer is fully crosslinked, and a mechanical compressive strain is applied to the sample orthogonal to the primary wrinkles. This mechanical strain results in smaller secondary wrinkles superimposed on the larger primary aligned wrinkles. Resulting biaxial morphologies suggest that the primary pattern directs the formation of the smaller wrinkles. The modulus mismatch of the substrate on primary and secondary wrinkle formation dictates the ratio between the two resulting wavelengths, as well as the specific biaxial morphologies, ranging from zigzag ridges to ellipsoidal bumps or corn‐on‐the‐cob structures to the classic herringbone. The sequential strain wrinkling process has the potential to be used on an industrial scale for the facile formation of surface topography with two discrete, tunable lateral dimensions over large surface areas. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An attempt is made to unify current knowledge of the optical, vibrational, transport and defect-related properties of amorphous As in terms of its structure and the nature of the bonding. The importance of remnant mesomeric bonding, particularly in determining preparation-dependent variations in the optical gap, is stressed. Topological disorder is taken as a central theme and it is shown how the ring statistics dictate the radial distribution function. The relationship between atomic structure and the electron and phonon densities of states is discussed. A review is given of the transport properties of amorphous As: these point to a pinned Fermi level. Variations in s–p hybridization are considered in relation to the types of point defect likely to occur and it is shown how both paired and unpaired spin states are possible. Finally some experimental results on crystallization kinetics, specific heat and thermal conductivity are discussed.  相似文献

Attempts were made to synthesize dinuclear Group 6 metal complexes of the arachno -octahydrotriborate anion. Specifically, the dimer [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 (Cp = m 5 -C 5 H 5 ) was employed as the metal reagent. However, the formation of dinuclear metallaborane complexes did not ensue. Rather, clean, rapid, systematic borane-cage expansion was observed. The [B 3 H 8 ] m cluster was quantitatively converted to B 5 H 9 ,[B 9 H 14 ] m , or [B 11 H 14 ] m , or both, depending on reaction conditions. Refluxing a 1:1 mixture of [B 3 H 8 ] m and [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 in toluene or dioxane lead to the rapid, quantitative conversion of [B 3 H 8 ] m to B 5 H 9 . However, refluxing a 2:1 mixture of [B 3 H 8 ] m and [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 in the same solvents yielded [B 9 H 14 ] m and [B 11 H 14 ] m as the primary products; when glyme was the solvent, only [B 9 H 14 ] m was observed, even after prolonged heating.  相似文献
