Kähler hyperbolicity and the Euler number of a compact manifold with geodesic flow of Anosov type

 Let M be a 2m-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with Anosov geodesic flow. We prove that every closed bounded k form, k≥2, on the universal covering of M is d(bounded). Further, if M is homotopy equivalent to a compact K?hler manifold, then its Euler number χ(M) satisfies (−1) ^m χ(M)>0. Received: 25 September 2001 / Published Online: 16 October 2002     

17N+197Au反应中碎片与中子的符合测量

在3?3?.4MeV/u ¹⁷N束轰击¹⁹⁷Au靶产生的反应中,利用放置于不同角度组合的17个中子探测器(4°—83°)和14个半导体望远镜(2.3°—9.0°)对反应产物碎片与中子进行了符合测量.经对所得实验角分布积分得到Z=3—6元素的同位素产额分布.在参加者-旁观者模型框架下,采用¹⁷N原子核内部的不同密度分布计算了同位素产额分布并与实验数据做比较.     

探讨Abel积分零点的一个定理

本文研究了具有中心环域的可积多项式系统,探讨此系统在用多项式进行微扰的情况下,其所对应的Abel积分的零点个数的计算方法,给出了一个较为实用的定理,并举出了若干个应用的例子．     

Kinetic behaviour of aluminum naphthenate/benzene system in process of gelation and degradation

The kinetic behaviour of aluminum naphthenate/benzene system in the process of gelation and degradation was systematically studied. The results obtained from the kinetic experiments indicated that the gelation stage was in accordance with a kinetic model of an auto-catalytic first-order reaction, and the degradation stage was a simple first-order reaction. The rate constants in these two stages at various temperaturs were measured. And the determined apparent activation energies for the gelation stage and for the degradation stage are 27.5±2.0 and 37.7±2.3 kJ/mol, respectively.     

Multiple periodic solutions of a delayed stage-structured predator–prey model with non-monotone functional responses

A delayed stage-structured predator–prey model with non-monotone functional responses is proposed. It is assumed that immature individuals and mature individuals of the predator are divided by a fixed age, and that immature predators do not have the ability to attack prey. Some new and interesting sufficient conditions are obtained for the global existence of multiple positive periodic solutions of the stage-structured predator–prey model. Our method is based on Mawhin’s coincidence degree and novel estimation techniques for the a priori bounds of unknown solutions to Lx = λNx. An example is given to illustrate the feasibility of our main result.     

Microdrilling for fabricating micrometer-scale holes in soft matter

Probing the response of soft materials at small scales requires examining fundamental behaviors that are often distinct from large-scale interactions. In the development of micrometer- and nanometer-sized holes in soft materials, understanding failure modes becomes essential. We observe fracture behavior in a soft material through a novel method, which leads to the fabrication of small-scale holes in polydimethylsiloxane. We utilize an ultra-sharp tungsten needle to drill this soft elastomeric polymer; this results in controlled hole size and exhibits fracture characteristics observed in brittle materials at larger length scales. We also examine the macroscopic characteristics known to contribute to brittleness and hardness for this material’s response with respect to curing times. This understanding will contribute to many applications including the development of porous materials and DNA sequencing efforts. PACS 81.05.Lg; 81.40.Np; 82.35.Lr     

Minimax Theorems Involving Two Functions and Strictly Monotone Transformations of Their Values

Two two-function minimax theorems are proved.The concavity-convexity conditions of the twofunctions involve strictly monotone transformations and mixing of the values of the two functions,and aredescribed by the inequalities as upward and weakly downward conditions.     

Bivariate Recursive Equations on Excess-of-loss Reinsurance

This paper investigates bivariate recursive equations on excess-of-loss reinsurance. For an insurance portfolio, under the assumptions that the individual claim severity distribution has bounded continuous density and the number of claims belongs to R1 （a, b） family, bivariate recursive equations for the joint distribution of the cedent＇s aggregate claims and the reinsurer＇s aggregate claims are obtained.

用Langer变换和Olver变换求得一类具有转向点问题的n阶近似解:y(x)=v(x)ψ(x),其中ψ=λ12-14×(x2-1)14,2332=-λx∫11-τ2dτ,v(z)=A(z,λ)ξ(λ23z)+B(z,λ)'ζ(λ23z).并探讨了其特征值问题,得到λn=4n+1112,n=0,1,2….由此给出了该类问题的解的一般性结论.

电流引线是高温超导变压器的主要外部漏热来源,它的漏热量直接影响了超导变压器的经济性能,因此,引线的设计与漏热测量一直备受关注。文中构建了一个实验方案,运用量热法测量低压引线的漏热,并将试验结果与仿真预期值进行了对比和分析,从而验证了仿真设计的正确性。
