Constituents of Antrodia Cinnamomea

We describe identification of seven components from Antrodia cinnamomea. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectral analysis and comparison with authentic samples. These compounds include two steroids (1, 2) (β-sitosterol and eburicol), two new steroids (3, 4) [methyl-4α-methylergost-8,24(28)-dien-3,7,11-trion-26-oate and methyl-4α-methylergost-8,24(28)-dien-3,11-dion-26-oate], two lignans (5, 6) [(+)-sesamin and 4-hydroxysesamin], and one long chain methyl ester (7) (methyl oleate). Among them, compounds 3 and 4 are first isolated from nature.     

Adsorptive stripping voltammetry of some trace elements in biological samples,II: Nickel,arsenic, aluminium and selenium

A study of the adsorptive stripping voltammetry of nickel, aluminium, selenium and arsenic is reported in which 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (DMTD) has been used as a chelating agent. By a suitable choice of deposition potential, deposition time, reagent reaction time and other operating conditions, the determination of the four elements could be achieved.By the use of benzyltrimethyl ammonium methoxide as a digesting solvent, it was possible to apply the procedure to the direct determination of the four elements in biological samples.     

New cyclopropyl-triterpenoids from the aerial roots of Ficus microcarpa

Four new cyclopropyl-triterpenes, 27-nor-3beta-hydroxy-25-oxocycloartane (1), (22E)-25,26,27-trinor-3beta-hydroxycycloart-22-en-24-al (2), 3beta-acetoxy-15alpha-hydroxy-13,27-cyclours-11-ene (3), 3beta-acetoxy-12alpha-formyloxy-13,27-cycloursan-11alpha-ol (4), together with (23E)-27-nor-3beta-hydroxycycloart-23-en-25-one (5) were isolated from the aerial roots of Ficus microcarpa. Compounds 3 and 4 are rare 13,27-cycloursane-type triterpenes. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical methods.     

Novel carbazole/fluorene hybrids: host materials for blue phosphorescent OLEDs

[reaction: see text] A series of carbazole/fluorene (CBZm-Fn) hybrids were effectively synthesized through Friedel-Crafts-type substitution of the carbazole rings. These compounds were thermally and morphologically stable host materials for OLED applications. Efficient blue phosphorescent OLEDs were obtained when employing CBZ1-F2 as the host and FIrpic as the guest.     

光纤光栅弹簧管压力传感器的压力和温度特性

本文利用弹簧管对于压力的机械放大作用,将弹簧管与光纤光栅悬臂梁调谐技术相结合,研制了一种新颖的光纤光栅弹簧管压力传感器,大大提高了光纤布喇格光栅对压力测量的灵敏度,压力灵敏度系数可达-1.79×10^-4/MPa,比裸光栅提高了两个数量级,在0～12MPa的压力范围内,光纤布喇格光栅中心反射波长的改变与压力成良好的线性关系.同时由于悬臂梁热膨胀效应的影响,光纤光栅的温度灵敏度提高为裸光栅的7倍.     

Preparation and characterization of H<Subscript>3</Subscript>PW<Subscript>12</Subscript>O<Subscript>40</Subscript>/ZrO<Subscript>2</Subscript> catalyst for carbonation of methanol into dimethyl carbonate

A H₃PW₁₂O₄₀/ZrO₂ catalyst for effective dimethyl carbonate (DMC) formation via methanol carbonation was prepared using the sol–gel method. X-ray photoelectron spectra showed that reactive and dominant (63%) W(VI) species, in WO₃ or H₂WO₄, enhanced the catalytic performances of the supported ZrO₂. The mesoporous structure of H₃PW₁₂O₄₀/ZrO₂ was identified by nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms. In particular, partial sintering of catalyst particles in the duration of methanol carbonation caused a decrease in the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area of the catalyst from 39 to 19 m²/g. The strong acidity of H₃PW₁₂O₄₀/ZrO₂ was confirmed by the desorption peak observed at 415 °C in NH₃ temperature-programmed desorption curve. At various reaction temperatures (T?=?110, 170, and 220 °C) and CO₂/N₂ volumetric flow rate ratios (CO₂/N₂?=?1/4, 1/7, and 1/9), the calculated catalytic performances showed that the optimal methanol conversion, DMC selectivity, and DMC yield were 4.45, 89.93, and 4.00%, respectively, when T?=?170 °C and CO₂/N₂?=?1/7. Furthermore, linear regression of the pseudo-first-order model and Arrhenius equation deduced the optimal rate constant (4.24?×?10^?3 min^?1) and activation energy (E_a?=?15.54 kJ/mol) at 170 °C with CO₂/N₂?=?1/7 which were favorable for DMC formation.     

Synthesis of Bimetallic Copper‐Rich Nanoclusters Encapsulating a Linear Palladium Dihydride Unit

The structurally precise Cu‐rich hydride nanoclusters [PdCu₁₄H₂(dtc/dtp)₆(C≡CPh)₆] (dtc: di‐butyldithiocarbamate ( 1 ); dtp: di‐isopropyl dithiophosphate ( 2 )) were synthesized from the reaction of polyhydrido copper clusters [Cu₂₈H₁₅(S₂CNⁿBu₂)₁₂]⁺ or [Cu₂₀H₁₁{S₂P(OⁱPr)₂}₉] with phenyl acetylene in the presence of Pd(PPh₃)₂Cl₂. Their structures and compositions were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and the results supported by ESI‐mass spectrometry. Hydride positions in 1 were confirmed by single‐crystal neutron diffraction. Each hydride is connected to one Pd⁰ and four Cu^I atoms in slightly distorted trigonalbipyramidal geometry. The anatomies of clusters 1 and 2 are very similar and DFT calculations allow rationalizing the interactions between the encapsulated [PdH₂]^2? unit and its Cu₁₄ bicapped icosahedral cage. As a result, Pd has the highest coordination number (14) so far recorded.

A new N-fatty acyl tryptamine, cheritamine ( 30 ), along with thirty-two compounds including nineteen benzenoids, p-hydroxybenzadehyde ( 1 ), p-hydroxybenzoic acid ( 2 ), methylparabene ( 3 ), 3-chlorobenzoic acid ( 4 ), vanillin ( 5 ), isovanillin ( 6 ), vanillic acid ( 7 ), isovanillic acid ( 8 ), methyl vanillate ( 9 ), methyl isovanillate ( 10 ), syringaldehyde ( 11 ), syringic acid ( 12 ), 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid ( 13 ), trans-methyl p-coumarate ( 14 ), ferulic acid ( 15 ), p-dihydrocoumaric acid ( 16 ), 3-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1,2-propanediol ( 17 ), 3,4,5 -trimethoxyphenyl-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 18 ) and thalictoside ( 19 ); one p-quinone, 2,6-dimethoxy-p-quinone ( 20 ); one purine, uridine ( 21 ); eight alkaloids, nicotinic acid ( 22 ), thalifoline ( 23 ), doryphornine ( 24 ), (–)-norstephalagine ( 25 ), (-)-romucosine ( 26 ), (+)-pronuciferine ( 27 ), (+)-norisocorydine ( 28 ) and oxoasimilobine (29) and three steroids, β-sitosterol-D-glucoside ( 31 ), stigmasterol-D-glucoside ( 32 ) and 6′-(β-sitosteryl-3-O-β-glucopyranosidyl)hexadecanoate ( 33 ), are isolated from the stems of Annona cherimola. These compounds were characterized and identified by physical and spectral evidence.     

Long-Period Gratings in Planar Optical Waveguides

Our progress in the study of long-period gratings (LPGs) in planar optical waveguides is reviewed. In particular,experimental LPGs in glass and polymer waveguides are presented to demonstrate the potential of LPG-based waveguide devices.
