The effect of a uniform magnetic field in perpendicular-to-electrode configuration, on the hydrogen evolution reaction was investigated during the deposition of Fe and CoFe alloys. It was found that the desorption of hydrogen is supported in a magnetic field. This effect is discussed in details with respect to the micro-magnetohydrodynamic convection, which arises due to the fluctuation of the current distribution close to the H2 bubble.  相似文献

To correlate flat titanium film surface properties with deposition parameters, titanium flat thin films were systematically deposited on glass substrates with various thicknesses and evaporation rates by electron-beam evaporation. The chemical compositions, crystal structure, surface topographies as well as wettability were investigated by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and water contact angle measurement, respectively. The films consisted mainly of TiO2. Small percentages of Ti2O3 and metallic Ti were also found at the film surface using high-resolution XPS analysis. Quantitative XPS showed little differences regarding elemental compositions among different groups of films. The films were obtained by varying the deposition rate and the film thickness, respectively. XRD data showed consistent reflection patterns of the different titanium samples deposited using different film thicknesses. Without exception measurements of all samples exhibited contact angles of 80° ± 5°. Quantitative AFM characterization demonstrated good correlation tendency between surface roughness and film thickness or evaporation rate, respectively. It is important to notice that titanium films with different sizes of grains on their surfaces but having the same chemistry and film bulk structure can be obtained in a controllable way. By increasing the film thickness and evaporation rate, the surface roughness increased. The surface morphology and grain size growth displayed a corresponding trend. Therefore, the control of these parameters allows us to prepare titanium films with desired surface properties in a controllable and reproducible way for further biological investigations of these materials.  相似文献

Titanium-50 (50Ti) is an important and often requested ion beam for nuclear physics’ experiments. While natural titanium of very high purity is available in different forms; enriched material can only be bought as the dioxide or the tetrachloride. These compounds cannot be processed from currently available ion sources with a sufficient beam quality and sufficient beam intensity for a long time. We describe here the process of converting titanium dioxide into the metal, the material analysis of the starting material as well as of the reduced material. Despite varying contamination levels of silicon, chlorine, and tin in the primary materials, we obtained high yields of metallic titanium with different contamination levels. The obtained metallic 50Ti was applied at the accelerator UNILAC for the production of a high intensity ion beam for several month of beam time.  相似文献

Eight novel penicillins were synthesized by heteromolecular reaction of ampicillin or amoxicillin with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid derivatives using a laccase from Trametes spec. All products inhibited the growth of several gram positive bacterial strains in the agar diffusion assay, among them methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci. The products protected mice against an infection with Staphylococcus aureus lethal to the untreated animals. Cytotoxicity and acute toxicity of the new compounds were neglectable. The results show the usefulness of laccase for the synthesis of potential new antibiotics. The biological activity of the new compounds stimulates intensified pharmacological tests.  相似文献

Paramagnetic Cu2+-ions have been electrodeposited under application of magnetic field gradients. Obtained deposits show a direct correlation of the distribution of magnetic flux density B at the electrode and the deposit thickness and morphology. In contrast to that no influence on the deposit structure has been observed for deposition of Bi from electrolytes containing diamagnetic Bi3+-ions. This indicates that the structuring effect is mainly based on the action of the magnetic gradient force. A structuring-mechanism has been proposed that also discusses influences of the Lorentz force.  相似文献
