A simple pulse sequence, derived from the shaped pulse optimally exciting the central transition of a spin 3/2, can be used to selectively detect ordered sodium with a given quadrupolar coupling. The pulse sequence consists of two pulses with opposite phases and separated by a delay, called a quadrupolar jump-and-return (QJR) sequence. This QJR sequence is tested with a phantom made of sodium ions in bacteriophage and in aqueous solution and its feasibility for contrast modification based on the quadrupolar coupling is demonstrated.  相似文献

The goal of the paper is to develop a universal semantic approach to derivable rules of propositional multiple-conclusion sequent calculi with structural rules, which explicitly involve not only atomic formulas, treated as metavariables for formulas, but also formula set variables (viz., metavariables for finite sets of formulas), upon the basis of the conception of model introduced in (Fuzzy Sets Syst 121(3):27–37, 2001). One of the main results of the paper is that any regular sequent calculus with structural rules has such class of sequent models (called its semantics) that a rule is derivable in the calculus iff it is sound with respect to each model of the semantics. We then show how semantics of admissible rules of such calculi can be found with using a method of free models. Next, our universal approach is applied to sequent calculi for many-valued logics with equality determinant. Finally, we exemplify this application by studying sequent calculi for some of such logics.   相似文献

The preparative flexibility of hydrothermal syntheses needs to be systemised for exploring complex structure-synthesis relationships and morphology control options in materials chemistry. This is demonstrated for the targeted hydrothermal preparation of molybdenum oxide materials: firstly, in situ studies were employed for the efficient production of MoO(3) nanofibres. Additional experimental evidence of rotary resonance effects for multiple-quantum coherence conversion in a spin-5/2 system is presented. Two-dimensional plots of the relative efficiency of MQ excitation and conversion are given as a function of radio frequency (rf) amplitude and pulse width. Data are presented for the excitation of five-quantum coherence (5QC), as well as for 5QC to three-quantum coherence (3QC) conversion, 5QC to IQC (the central transition coherence) conversion, and 3QC to IQC conversion. A two-fold increase in the signal-to-noise ratio is achieved by substituting low amplitude rf pulses in place of hard rf pulses for 5QC excitation and 5QC to 3QC conversion in a mixed multiple-quantum magic angle spinning (MAS) (MMQMAS) experiment. The anisotropic line shape for the low-amplitude rf pulse version of the MMQMAS experiment was observed to be distorted from the MAS line shape. The cause and implications of the distortion are discussed.  相似文献

Excitation sculpting (T-L. Hwang and A. J. Shaka, J. Magn. Reson. A 112, 275-279 (1995)) used for solvent suppression and selective excitation in NMR bases its success on the ability to remove baseline and phase errors created by the application of selective rf pulses. This is achieved by the application of two pulsed field gradient (PFG) echoes in sequence. It is essential that the two pairs of PFGs select the coherence transfer steps independently of each other, which is conveniently achieved if they are applied along orthogonal spatial axes. Here, the much more common case where both PFG pairs must be applied along a single axis is investigated. This is shown to lead to complications for certain ratios of PFG strengths. The original theory of excitation sculpting is restated in the spherical basis for convenience. Some of the effects can only be explained by invoking the dipolar demagnetizing field.  相似文献

New functional multicomponent ferroelectric liquid crystalline mixtures have been designed while searching smart self-assembling materials with submicrometre periodicity of the helical structure responding definite demands for application in electro-optic devices and photonics that exploit the deformed helix ferroelectric effect. The resulting designed mixtures possess the paraelectric smectic A* and the tilted ferroelectric smectic C* phases over a very broad temperature range down below the room temperature. The mesomorphic, electro-optic and dielectric properties have been studied and discussed. The presence of a very stable enantiotropic ferroelectric smectic phase exhibiting almost temperature independent helical pitch within 150–250 nm range and reasonably high values of the tilt angle might allow these mixtures to be applicable for practical purposes.  相似文献

The main objective of this article was (i) to refocus the residual dipolar and quadrupolar interactions in anisotropic tissues employing magic sandwich echo (MSE) imaging and to compare the results with that of conventional spin-echo (SE) imaging, and (ii) to quantify MSE relaxation and dispersion characteristics in bovine Achilles tendon and compare with spin-lattice relaxation time constant in the rotating frame (T(1rho)). Magic sandwich echo weighted images are approximately 75-100% higher in signal-to-noise ratio than the corresponding T(2)-weighted images. Magic sandwich echo relaxation times varied from 13+/-2 to 19+/-3 ms (mean+/-S.D.), depending upon the structural location of tendon. T(2) relaxation times only varied from 4+/-1 to 10+/-3 ms (mean+/-S.D.) on the same corresponding locations. Magic sandwich echo provides approximately 100% enhancement in relaxation times compared to T(2). Preliminary results based on bovine Achilles tendon and cartilage specimens suggest that the MSE technique has potential for refocusing residual dipolar as well as quadrupolar interactions in anisotropic systems and yields higher intensities than conventional SE imaging as well as T(1rho)-encoded imaging, especially at low-burst pulse amplitudes (250 and 500 Hz).  相似文献
