Phonon spectroscopy is used to investigate the mechanism of current-induced spin torques in nonmagnetic/ferromagnetic (N/F) point contacts. Magnetization excitations observed in the magneto-conductance of the point contacts are pronounced for diffusive and thermal contacts, where the electrons experience significant scattering in the contact region. We find no magnetic excitations in highly ballistic contacts. Our results show that impurity scattering at the N/F interface is the origin of the new single-interface spin torque effect. 相似文献

Asymptotic formulas are constructed and rigorously justified for linearly independent solutions of a second-order differential equation with a coefficient possessing the property of finite smoothness and containing a complex parameter ζ (forTmζ=0 the equation has two real turning points). A perturbation method is applied which consists in extending the coefficient of the equation to the complex Z plane and approximating it in an ε-neighborhood of the real axis of this plane by a quadratic polynomial. The volt-ampere curves and their second derivatives were studied for niobium point contacts at low temperatures in the voltage range corresponding to the characteristic phonon energies. It was found that while for the dirty contacts in the normal state no PC spectra of phonons could be detected, in the superconducting state there were singularities in the I–V curves corresponding to maxima either in the first or in the second derivatives. The singularities observed were due to the energy dependence of the excess current. We suppose that the origin of these singularities is due to the inelastic transitions of electrons between chemical potentials of Cooper pairs at both sides of the contact, which differ in energy by eV. These transitions are possible if ξ(0) ? d ≈ Λ?, (ξ(0) being the coherence length; d, the contact diameter; , where li and l? being the elastic and inelastic electron mean free paths, respectively). 相似文献

A low-temperature quartz resonator method for determining the enthalpy of sublimation has been described. A quartz crystal cooled to the temperature of liquid nitrogen becomes a sensitive microbalance. The method permits the value of ΔHsub to be obtained within 4–5 h and is especially useful in measuring ΔHsub values of substances with low saturated vapour pressures. The following values of ΔHsub were received for standard substances: benzoic acid, ΔHsub = (90.8±0.6) kJ mol?1 at 293–319 K: naphthalene, ΔHsub = (72.3±0.8) kJ mol?1at 293–331 K. 相似文献
