The present study deals with the preconcentration and determination of toxic metal ions using p-tetranitrocalix[4]arene (3) appended silica-based new HPLC column. The synthesized material was characterized using Fourier transform infrared and scanning electron microscopy techniques. The sorption characteristics of the HPLC column were investigated for three toxic metals (Cd2+, Hg2+ and Pb2+) in column agreement. The experiments were performed in five steps that were monitored using a UV–visible diode-array detector. However, all the HPLC experimental results were reconfirmed by using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The effect of concentration on the sorption efficiency of the column was evaluated for all the three metals and the data obtained were investigated using Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Redushkevich (D–R) sorption isotherms. The value of coefficient of determination (R2), i.e. 0.99, suggested that the Freundlich sorption isotherm was found to be the best-fit model for all the three toxic metal ions, whereas, mean free energy was calculated from the D–R isotherm as 5.3, 5.7, and 5.8 kJ/mol for Pb2+, Cd2+, and Hg2+, respectively; suggesting that physical electrostatic force is involved in the sorption process. The developed method was validated for system efficiency, accuracy, and precision.
In this study, extracts of the root, branch and leaf parts of Cistus laurifolius L. were prepared using hexane, methylene chloride and ethanol solvents. DNA cleavage, cytotoxic and antioxidant properties of the prepared extracts were then investigated. The cytotoxic properties of the extracts were investigated in A549, DU-145, PNT-1A, MDA-MB231, CRL-4010 and HCT-116 cell lines. Among all prepared extracts, T4 (seed–methylene chloride) extract showed cytotoxic effects on more cancer cell lines compared to other extracts. Antioxidant tests were performed by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil) radical scavenging and Folin-Ciocalteu methods. In both tests, it was determined that T7 (seed–ethanol) extract has a very strong antioxidant effect (IC50 = 0,000015 μg/ml for the DPPH method). In DNA cleavage studies, the results obtained confirm the protection of DNA from hydroxyl radical damage in the presence of methanolic plant extracts. Consequently, we determined that some of the Cistus laurifolius L. extracts have significant biological properties on the studied cell lines. 相似文献
We present vibrational dynamics and thermodynamics for the (1 0 0) surfaces of Cu, Ag, Pd, Pt and Au using a real space approach. The force field for these systems is described by density functional theory. The changes in the vibrational dynamics and thermodynamics from those in bulk are confined mostly to the first-layer. A substantial enhancement of the low-frequency end of the acoustic branch was found and is related to a loosening of the bond at the surface. The thermodynamics of the first-layer also show significant differences (higher heat capacity, lower free energy and higher mean vibrational square amplitudes) from what obtains in bulk. Comparing these results with those calculated using embedded-atom method potentials, we discovered that for Ag(1 0 0) and Cu(1 0 0), the two methods yield very similar results while for Pd(1 0 0), Pt(1 0 0) and Au(1 0 0) there are substantial differences. 相似文献

This study examines the validity of the spectroscopic modification of the Pippard relations for the hexagonal ice (ice I) close to the melting point. A linear variation of the specific heat CP with the frequency shifts EQUATION: SEE TEXT is obtained for ice I. A method based on solid-phase microextraction (SPME) followed by gas chromatography with microwave-induced plasma atomic emission detection for determining 16 pesticides of different chemical families (organochlorines, organophosphorus compounds and pyrethrins) in honey is proposed. Parameters affecting the sample enrichment step, such as sample mass, ionic strength, absorption and desorption times and temperatures, were carefully optimized in the direct immersion mode. Element-specific detection and quantification was carried out by monitoring the chlorine (479 nm), bromine (478 nm) and sulphur (181 nm) emission lines, which provided nearly specific chromatograms. The matrix effect was evaluated for samples of different floral origin, it being concluded that standard addition calibration was required for quantification purposes. The detection limits ranged from 0.02 to 10 ng g−1, depending on the compound and the honey sample under analysis. The method is reliable and can be considered useful for routine monitoring. None of the honey samples analyzed contained the studied compounds at concentrations above the corresponding detection limits. 相似文献

We consider geometric process (GP) when the distribution of the first occurrence time of an event is assumed to be Weibull. Explicit estimators of the parameters in GP are derived by using the method of modified maximum likelihood (MML) proposed by Tiku [24]. Asymptotic distributions and consistency properties of these estimators are obtained. We show that our estimators are more efficient than the widely used modified moment (MM) estimators via Monte Carlo simulation study. In this paper, further study of the conservation laws of the nonlinear (1+1) wave equation involving two arbitrary functions of the dependent variable is performed. This equation is not derivable from a variational principle. By writing the equation, admitting a partial Lagrangian, in the partial Euler–Lagrange form, partial Noether operators associated with the partial Lagrangian are obtained for all possible cases of the functions. These partial Noether operators do not form a Lie algebra in general. Partial Noether operators aid via a formula in the construction of the conservation laws of the equation. We obtain new conservation laws for the equation which have not been presented in the earlier literature. 相似文献
