We found that alpha-diketones (2,3-butanedione (BD) and 1-phenyl-1,2-propanedione (PPD)) were very suitable luminescence probes for studying the properties of a perfluorinated solvent (i.e., fluorous solvent; perfluoromethylcyclohexane (PFMC)), since these compounds were soluble in PFMC and showed long-lived phosphorescence even at room temperature. The phosphorescence lifetime (tau(p)) of BD in PFMC (650 micros) was much longer than that in cyclohexane (CH, 270 micros). The longer tau(p) value of BD in PFMC was ascribed to the variation of the intersystem crossing rate constant (k(isc)) from the excited triplet state (T1) to the ground state (S0) with the solvent. Some possible reasons for the change in k(isc) were discussed in terms of solute-solvent interactions. Furthermore, by utilizing phosphorescence quenching of BD by pyrene, we, determined a rate constant of the diffusion-controlled reaction in PFMC. Characteristic behaviors of mixing/separation processes between PFMC and a common organic solvent observed by Schlieren photographs were also reported. 相似文献

A highly sensitive fluorescence-quenching method for the determination of phosphorus based on the formation of an ion associate between molybdophosphate and Rhodamine B (RB) was developed. A simple flow-injection system coupled with a fluorescence detector was used to measure the fluorescence intensity at 560 nm and 580 nm as an excitation and an emission wavelength, respectively. The calibration graph for phosphorus showed a good linearity in the range of (0 - 1) x 10(-7) M (1 M = 1 mol L(-1)), and a detection limit of 1 x 10(-9) M (S/N = 3). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of ultratrace amounts of phosphorus in ultrapurified and purified water samples, and to the determination of trace amounts of phosphorus in commercially-available hydrogen peroxide solutions with satisfactory results. 相似文献

The emission spectra of luminescent trivalent europium (Eu3+) and terbium (Tb3+) complexes were measured using a microscope laser Raman spectrometer with a doubled Nd:YAG laser (532 nm) and an Ar laser (488 nm). Excitation at 532 and 488 nm corresponded to wavelengths of the 7F1 --> 5D1 band of Eu3+ and the 7F6 --> 5D4 band of Tb3+, respectively. Development of micromarkers with various photoluminescence colors as tracers for shadowing pursuits.
Micromarkers with five photoluminescence colors were developed as tracers for shadowing pursuits. The markers are colorless powders with particle diameters of several tens to several hundreds of micrometers, prepared using a cryogenic sample crusher. They were visualized using red, green, yellow, magenta or cyan photoluminescence under ultraviolet light at approximately 365 nm. The markers were composed of photoluminescent compounds dispersed in polyvinyl butyral. The photoluminescent compounds in the polyvinyl butyral were stable under ambient conditions for more than one year after application. The compounds with the red, green, yellow, magenta and cyan photoluminescence contained a europium (Eu(3+)) complex, a terbium (Tb(3+)) complex, a mixture of Tb(3+) and Eu(3+) complexes, a mixture of Eu(3+) complex and o-coumaric acid, and a mixture of Tb(3+) complex and 7-hydroxycoumarin along with a few drops of a sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution, respectively. Neodymium (Nd(3+)) and ytterbium (Yb(3+)) complexes with photoluminescence in the near-IR wavelength region can also be added to these visible photoluminescent compounds as secret markers for discrimination. Infrared magneto-absorption has been investigated in tellurium crystals in magnetic fields up to 45 koe at liquid helium temperatures. When the magnetic field was applied parallel or perpendicular to the c-axis, oscillatory absorptions with many transmission minima involving the exciton absorption were observed. We have carried out an angle-resolved photoemission study for CoSi2 nanofilms grown on the Si(111)-7×7 substrates. The surface of CoSi2(111) nanofilm changes from the bulk-truncated surface to the surface with additional Si-bilayer by annealing at higher temperature above 825 K. The angle-resolved photoemission spectra of the CoSi2 nanofilm annealed at 853 K show the spectral features originated from the surface resonance state on the CoSi2 surface terminated by Si-bilayer. From the detailed photoemission study, we discuss the surface electronic structure in CoSi2(111) nanofilms grown on Si(111) substrates. 相似文献

Cell membranes consist of lipid bilayers in which proteins are embedded. Many cell functions are carried out at the cell boundary which interface with water. Here we describe the response to an anesthetic of a lipid bilayer and of an enzyme separately. While both systems are markedly affected by anesthetics at appropriately high concentrations, the result at the clinical concentrations seems best explained as principally an effect on the protein somewhat accentuated by its presence in the lipid bilayer. Thus the lipoprotein complex seems to have the properties of the protein alone, except with somewhat greater induced sensitivity due to the lipid matrix in which it is immersed. 相似文献
