Stereochemistry of seven-membered heterocycles: XLV. Highly diastereoselective addition of dimethyl 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dicarboxylate to 2-substituted 1,3-dithiacyclohept-5-enes

Conformationally heterogeneous 2-substituted 1,3-dithiacyclohept-5-enes (R = Ph, Me, t-Bu), which exist in solution as chair and boat conformers, react with dimethyl 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dicarboxylate with high exo-diastereoselectivity: only the chair conformer is involved. The steric structure of 4-methyl-3,5-dithia-9,10-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undeca-7,10-diene was determined by X-ray analysis. Its crystal packing and supramolecular structure were also analyzed.     

Synthesis and conformational study of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-1,6-naphthiridines

A new class of endocyclic enamines, 1,6-disubstituted 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-1,6-naphthiridines, was synthesized from 4-piperidone imines by successive subjecting the latter to lithiation with lithium diethylamide, to alkylation with 1-bromo-3-chloropropane, and to intramolecular cyclization. All stages were carried out as a unique process without isolation of the intermediate compounds. A thorough optimization of the process conditions, workup, and product storage was carried out. The conformational study of 1,6-disubstituted 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-1,6-naphthiridines was performed.     

Ferromagnetism in Mn-doped GaAs layers: Effects of laser annealing

The properties of Mn-doped GaAs layers grown by laser deposition were investigated with measurements of Hall effect and magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE). The electrical and magnetic parameters of the layers were defined by growth temperature and quantity of sputtered Mn. It was shown that room-temperature ferromagnetism is revealed by MOKE and, after ruby laser 25 ns pulse annealing, by Hall effect measurements.     

Radiation induced decomposition of halogenated organic compounds in water

Decomposition by ionizing radiations of p-chlorophenol and tetrachloroethylene in synthetic water samples at about 2 mg Cl L⁻¹, has been studied on laboratory-scale experiments. Bicarbonate/carbonate and nitrate ions, at two concentration levels (20 and 200 mg HCO₃⁻¹ and 1 and 50 mg NO₃⁻L⁻) were added to synthetic samples in order to evaluate their influence on decomposition yield. At 5 kGy γ dose level, a quantitative degradation of p-chlorophenol is obtained whereas only qualitative consideration can be drawn on tetracholoroethylene. Comparative study with respect to degradation of p-cholophenol solutions (about 2 mg Cl L⁻¹) by γ-rays and electron beam irradiation treatment at 0.5 kGy dose level, are in progress; preliminary results indicate that irradiation with γ-rays seems to be more efficient in terms of removal efficiency respect to electron beams source.     

Moisture sorption, transport, and hydrolytic degradation in polylactide

Management of moisture penetration and hydrolytic degradation of polylactide (PLA) is extremely important during the manufacturing, shipping, storage, and end-use of PLA products. Moisture transport, crystallization, and degradation, in PLA have been measured through a variety of experimental techniques including size-exclusion chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, and X-ray diffraction. Quartz crystal microbalance and dynamic vapor sorption experiments have also been used to measure moisture sorption isotherms in PLA films with varying crystallinity. A surprising result is that, within the accuracy of the experiments, crystalline and amorphous PLA films exhibit identical sorption isotherms.     

The stationary problem of thermoelasticity for a plate with a heated slit

We consider the stationary heat conduction and thermoelasticity problem for a plate that whose lateral surfaces are thermally insulated and which has a slit on whose edges a constant temperature is maintained. 报道一种波长变换的新方法.采用此方法不需要任何泵浦光便能够直接将信号光变换成在特定谱宽内的任意多个任意波长的变换光,这对于将来的波分复用光网络提供了较大的方便.此波长变换的原理是利用色散位移光纤的非线性效应产生超连续光谱(SC)信号,由于这种SC信号携带有变换光信号,对这种连续谱进行滤波便能够得到所需要的任意频率的变换信号.此变换方式具有变换频带宽,偏振不敏感的优点。
