Vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V) were easily separated from each other in the same plant sample and be determined independently by ETAAS (electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry). This was achieved by treating the sample with 1 M (NH4)2HPO4 which transfer only insoluble V(V) species into solution leaving V(IV) species in the solid part of the sample solution. V(IV) was then transferred into solution by ashing the precipitates and dissolving them in dilute acid. Statistical evaluations indicate that the sum of the concentrations of V(IV) and V(V) species is the same as the total concentration of vanadium determined by an independent method from the same plant sample at 95% level of confidence.
The maximum concentrations for V(V) and total vanadium in plants around the vanadium mine were found to be 24.3 and 350 μg g−1, respectively. 相似文献

The growth of amorphous solid water (ASW) films on Pt(111) is investigated using rare gas (e.g., Kr) physisorption. Temperature programmed desorption of Kr is sensitive to the structure of thin water films and can be used to assess the growth modes of these films. At all temperatures that are experimentally accessible (20-155 K), the first layer of water wets Pt(111). Over a wide temperature range (20-120 K), ASW films wet the substrate and grow approximately layer by layer for at least the first three layers. In contrast to the ASW films, crystalline ice films do not wet the water monolayer on Pt(111). Virtually identical results were obtained for ASW films on epitaxial Pd(111) films grown on Pt(111). The desorption rates of thin ASW and crystalline ice films suggest that the relative free energies of the films are responsible for the different growth modes. However, at low temperatures, surface relaxation or "transient mobility" is primarily responsible for the relative smoothness of the films. The ternary boron compounds TM(7)TM'(6)B(8) (TM = Ta, Nb; TM' = Ru, Rh, Ir) were prepared by high-temperature thermal treatment of mixtures of the elements. An analysis of the chemical bonding by the electron density/electron localizability approach reveals formation of covalently bonded polyanions [B(6)] and [TM'(6)B(2)]. The cationic part of the structure contains separated TM cations. In agreement with the chemical bonding analysis and band structure calculations, all TM(7)TM'(6)B(8) compounds are metallic Pauli-paramagnets (TM' = Ru, Rh) or diamagnets (TM' = Ir). 相似文献

We consider the space M(n,m)\mathcal{M}(n,m) of ordered m-tuples of distinct points in the boundary of complex hyperbolic n-space,
H\mathbbCn\mathbf{H}_{\mathbb{C}}^{n}, up to its holomorphic isometry group PU(n,1). The first part of the paper establishes results about products of commutators in a d-generator finite group G, for example: if H?G=??g 1,??,g r ?? then every element of the subgroup [H,G] is a product of f(r) factors of the form $[h_{1},g_{1}][h_{1}^{\prime},g_{1}^{-1}]\ldots\lbrack h_{r},g_{r}][h_{r}^{\prime },g_{r}^{-1}]$ with $h_{1},h_{1}^{\prime},\ldots,\allowbreak h_{r},h_{r}^{\prime }\in H$ . Under certain conditions on H, a similar conclusion holds with the significantly weaker hypothesis that G=H??g 1,??,g r ??, where f(r) is replaced by f 1(d,r). The results are applied in the second part of the paper to the study of normal subgroups in finitely generated profinite groups, and in more general compact groups. Results include the characterization of (topologically) finitely generated compact groups which have a countably infinite image, and of those which have a virtually dense normal subgroup of infinite index. Novel P-monodentate phosphite-type ligands have been synthesized in one step from BINOL mono-tosylate and BINOL mono-(?)-menthylcarbonate. The use of these ligands provides up to 96% ee in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution of (E)-1,3-diphenylallyl acetate and up to 99% ee in Rh-catalyzed asymmetric addition of phenylboronic acid to cyclohex-2-enone. Enrichment of colloidal dairy systems with dietary fibre frequently causes quality defects because of phase separation. We investigate phase separation in skimmed milk enriched with Glucagel (a commercial product made from barley that is predominantly comprised of the polysaccharide β-glucan). The driving force for phase separation was depletion flocculation of casein micelles in the presence of molecules of the polysaccharide. Depending on the volume fraction of casein micelles and the concentration of Glucagel, the stable system phase separated either as a transient gel or as a sedimented system. The rate at which phase separation progressed also depended on the volume fraction of casein micelles and the concentration of Glucagel. To confirm the role of depletion flocculation in the phase separation process, enzymatic reduction in the molecular weight of β-glucan was shown to limit the range of attraction between micelles and allow the stable phase to exist at a higher β-glucan concentration for any given volume fraction of casein micelles. These phase diagrams will be useful to dairy product manufacturers striving to improve the nutrient profile of their products while avoiding product quality impairment. 相似文献

We consider the KP-I and gKP-I equations in \mathbbR × (\mathbbR/2p\mathbbZ){{\mathbb{R}}\,\times\,({\mathbb{R}}/2\pi{\mathbb{Z}})}. We prove that the KdV soliton with subcritical speed 0 < c < c* is orbitally stable under the global KP-I flow constructed by Ionescu and Kenig (Ann Math Stud 163:181–211, 2007). For supercritical speeds c > c*, in the spirit of the work by Duyckaerts and Merle (GAFA 18:1787–1840, 2009), we sharpen our previous instability result and construct a global solution which is different from the solitary wave and its translates and which converges to the solitary wave as time goes to infinity. We consider a nonlinear optimal control problem with an integral equation as the control object, subject to control constraints. This integral equation corresponds to the fractional moment of a stochastic process involving short-range and long-range dependences.
