Ten microseconds in the life of a superhelix

Dynamic light scattering measurement data of DNA topoisomers are compared with two different computer models: a Monte Carlo model and a Brownian dynamics model. First results on the kinetics of formation of a superhelix and on the influence of curved sequences on the dynamics of superhelical DNA are reported.To whom correspondence should be addressed     

Light scattering in binary mixtures of monatomic gases from an extended kinetic description

$14\nu$   fields of an ideal gas mixtures of constituents. It is shown that for binary mixtures with disparate masses - like the Helium-Xenon mixture - the light scattering spectrum changes from the hydrodynamic regime to the free molecular regime by increasing the molar fraction of the light constituent. The Burnett equations for a relativistic gas

The Burnett constitutive equations for the dynamic pressure, heat flux and pressure deviator are obtained from the relativistic Boltzmann equation by using fourteen moment equations and an iteration method akin to the Maxwellian iteration procedure of the non-relativistic theory. The non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic limits of all Burnett coefficients are given and it is shown that the non-relativistic limit of the Burnett constitutive equations agree with those obtained from the non-relativistic Boltzmann equation. Kinetics of the Fe3+ ion–H2O2 reaction: Steady-state and terminal-state analysis

Computer calculations of the kinetics of the ferric ion catalyzed decomposition of H₂O₂ by Walling and Weil are not in contradiction to the “complex mechanism.” The examination of their results reveals that their simulations correspond to the terminal state of the system in which the secondary complex between Fe³⁺ and H₂O₂ becomes stabilized.     

A class of autoregressive models for predicting the final claims amount

We treat one of the main problems of insurance mathematics, i.e. the problem of calculating loss-reserves, and investigate a general class of autoregressive models for predicting the final claims amounts of a collection of risks.
