In this paper we study the locomotion of a shape-changing body swimming in a two-dimensional perfect fluid of infinite extent. The shape changes are prescribed as functions of time satisfying constraints ensuring that they result from the work of internal forces only: conditions necessary for the locomotion to be termed self-propelled. The net rigid motion of the body results from the exchange of momentum between these shape changes and the surrounding fluid.  相似文献

We study an unsteady nonlinear fluid–structure interaction problem. We consider a Newtonian incompressible two-dimensional flow described by the Navier–Stokes equations set in an unknown domain depending on the displacement of a structure, which itself satisfies a linear wave equation or a linear beam equation. The fluid and the structure systems are coupled via interface conditions prescribing the continuity of the velocities at the fluid–structure interface and the action-reaction principle. Considering three different structure models, we prove existence of a unique local-in-time strong solution, for which there is no gap between the regularity of the initial data and the regularity of the solution enabling to obtain a blow up alternative. In the case of a damped beam this is an alternative proof (and a generalization to non zero initial displacement) of the result that can be found in [20]. In the case of the wave equation or a beam equation with inertia of rotation, this is, to our knowledge the first result of existence of strong solutions for which no viscosity is added. The key points consist in studying the coupled system without decoupling the fluid from the structure and to use the fluid dissipation to control, in appropriate function spaces, the structure velocity.  相似文献

Understanding pore-scale flow and transport processes is important for understanding flow and transport within rocks on a larger scale. Flow experiments on small-scale micromodels can be used to experimentally investigate pore-scale flow. Current manufacturing methods of micromodels are costly and time consuming. 3D printing is an alternative method for the production of micromodels. We have been able to visualise small-scale, single-phase flow and transport processes within a 3D printed micromodel using a custom-built visualisation cell. Results have been compared with the same experiments run on a micromodel with the same geometry made from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, also known as Perspex). Numerical simulations of the experiments indicate that differences in experimental results between the 3D printed micromodel and the Perspex micromodel may be due to variability in print geometry and surface properties between the samples. 3D printing technology looks promising as a micromodel manufacturing method; however, further work is needed to improve the accuracy and quality of 3D printed models in terms of geometry and surface roughness.

New drugs that can resolve inflammation without immunosuppressive effects are at the medicinal chemistry frontier. Pro-resolving endogenously formed small molecules, that is, the resolvins, are excellent candidates displaying such bioactions. The first total synthesis of the specialized pro-resolving mediator RvD1n−3 DPA has been achieved using the underutilized sp3–sp3 Negishi cross coupling reaction and an alkyne hydrosilylation–protodesilylation protocol. Biological evaluations revealed that this novel mediator displays low nanomolar pro-resolving properties and potently activates the human DRV1/GPR32 receptor. As such, this endogenous natural product is a lead compound for the development of novel immunoresolvents.  相似文献

Quasi-set theory provides us a mathematical background for dealing with collections of indistinguishable elementary particles. In this paper, we show how to obtain the usual statistics (Maxwell–Boltzmann, Bose–Einstein, and Fermi–Dirac) into the scope of quasi-set theory. We also show that, in order to derive Maxwell–Boltzmann statistics, it is not necessary to assume that the particles are distinguishable or individuals. In other words, Maxwell–Boltzmann statistics is possible even in an ensamble of indistinguishable particles, at least from the theoretical point of view. The main goal of this paper is to provide the mathematical grounds of a quasi-set theoretical framework for statistical mechanics.  相似文献

We consider the numerical solvability of the Dirichlet problem for the 1-Laplacian in a planar domain endowed with a metric conformal with the Euclidean one. Provided that a regular solution exists, we present a globally convergent method to find it. The global convergence allows to show a local stability in the Dirichlet problem for the 1-Laplacian nearby regular solutions. Such problems occur in conductivity imaging, when knowledge of the magnitude of the current density field (generated by an imposed boundary voltage) is available inside. Numerical experiments illustrate the feasibility of the convergent algorithm in the context of the conductivity imaging problem.  相似文献

We study the semiclassical measure for the solution of the high-frequency Helmholtz equation in Rn with non-constant absorption index and a source term concentrated on a bounded submanifold of Rn. The potential is not assumed to be non-trapping, but trapped trajectories have to go through the region where the absorption index is positive. In that case, the solution is microlocally written around any point away from the source as a sum (finite or infinite) of lagrangian distributions.  相似文献
