A Facile Synthesis of Pyrimidone Derivatives and Single-Crystal Characterization of Pymetrozine

A facile and efficient synthetic methodology for the preparation of aza-pyrimidone and beno-pyrimidone derivatives is described, in which the triazinone ring and dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-one was convenient constructed. The structures of all the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by mass, ¹H NMR, and infrared spectroscopy. In additional, the crystal of pymetrozine was obtained to find useful information such as configuration and molecular action mechanisms.     

Efficient and accurate procedure for selecting ground motions matching target response spectrum

Linear and nonlinear response history analyses have become popular in seismic design and seismic performance evaluation procedures. The accuracy of analysis results depends not only on the accurate analytic models for structures but also on the proper selection of input ground motions. The purpose of this study is to develop a computationally efficient and accurate procedure for selecting ground motions considering the target response spectrum mean and variance, and the correlations between response spectra of different periods. In this procedure, a number of response spectra are simulated equal to the number of ground motions to be selected, using a Monte Carlo simulation. Subsequently, ground motions are selected from a ground motion library to individually match the simulated response spectra, using the proposed selection procedure. This procedure is computationally efficient and accurate in selecting a ground motion that best matches a simulated response spectrum and in determining a scaling factor for the selected ground motion. In order to further improve the selection result, multiple sets of simulated response spectra are considered. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed procedure are verified with numerical examples.     

Highly efficient AgNO3‐catalyzed approach to 2‐(benzo[d]azol‐2‐yl)phenols from salicylaldehydes with 2‐aminothiophenol, 2‐aminophenol and benzene‐1,2‐diamine

A new, convenient and efficient AgNO₃‐catalyzed strategy for the preparation of 2‐(benzo[d]azol‐2‐yl)phenol derivatives in good to excellent yields (63–98%) is described. The reaction proceeds via condensation/intramolecular nucleophilic addition/oxidation process between substituted salicylaldehydes and 2‐aminothiophenol, 2‐aminophenol or benzene‐1,2‐diamine under mild reaction conditions. Notably, this reaction utilizes cheap AgNO₃ as a readily available and low‐cost benign oxidant at low catalyst loadings with excellent functional group tolerance.     

A novel NH4OAc and CuBr(PPh3)3-induced intermolecular Pummerer-type reaction between free (NH)-indoles and dimethylsulfoxide: facile synthesis of 3-methylthiomethyl substituted indoles

A novel NH₄OAc/CuBr(PPh₃)₃-induced intermolecular Pummerer-type reaction between free (NH)-indoles and dimethylsulfoxide is first reported, which offers the 3-methylthiomethyl substituted indoles conveniently and efficiently.     

Corrosion inhibition of ammonium molybdate for AA6061 alloy in NaCl solution and its synergistic effect with calcium gluconate

The corrosion inhibition of ammonium heltamolybdate (AH) and calcium gluconate (CG) for AA6061 alloy in 3% NaCl solution was investigated by the electrochemical measurements. It indicates that AH inhibits the corrosion of AA6061 alloy and acts as an anodic inhibitor. Maximum inhibition efficiency reaches 74.3% at the concentration of 1 × 10^?4 mol.l^?1 AH. The results of the electrochemical studies reveal AH is physically adsorbed on the AA6061 alloy surface and the adsorption follows Langmuir isotherm. The combination of AH and CG enhances the inhibition efficiency to 95.9%. The enhanced inhibition is attributed to the promotion of AH adsorption by CG. The mixture of AH and CG is a mixed‐type inhibitor and renders the corrosion potential to more positive values. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
