We study the set of minimal periods of holomorphic self-maps of one- and two-dimensional complex tori. In particular, we characterize when the set of minimal periods of such maps is finite. The concept of conditional stability constant is extended to the competitive binding of small molecules to heterogeneous surfaces or macromolecules via the introduction of the conditional affinity spectrum (CAS). The CAS describes the distribution of effective binding energies experienced by one complexing agent at a fixed concentration of the rest. We show that, when the multicomponent system can be described in terms of an underlying affinity spectrum [integral equation (IE) approach], the system can always be characterized by means of a CAS. The thermodynamic properties of the CAS and its dependence on the concentration of the rest of components are discussed. In the context of metal/proton competition, analytical expressions for the mean (conditional average affinity) and the variance (conditional heterogeneity) of the CAS as functions of pH are reported and their physical interpretation discussed. Furthermore, we show that the dependence of the CAS variance on pH allows for the analytical determination of the correlation coefficient between the binding energies of the metal and the proton. Nonideal competitive adsorption isotherm and Frumkin isotherms are used to illustrate the results of this work. Finally, the possibility of using CAS when the IE approach does not apply (for instance, when multidentate binding is present) is explored.  相似文献

The Darboux theory of integrability for planar polynomial differential equations is a classical field, with connections to Lie symmetries, differential algebra and other areas of mathematics. In the present paper we introduce the concepts, problems and inverse problems, and we outline some recent results on inverse problems. We also prove a new result, viz. a general finiteness theorem for the case of prescribed integrating factors. A?number of relevant examples and applications is included.  相似文献

We deal with nonlinear T-periodic differential systems depending on a small parameter. The unperturbed system has an invariant manifold of periodic solutions. We provide the expressions of the bifurcation functions up to second order in the small parameter in order that their simple zeros are initial values of the periodic solutions that persist after the perturbation. In the end two applications are done. The key tool for proving the main result is the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction method applied to the T-Poincaré-Andronov mapping.  相似文献

Lyapunov, Weinstein, and Moser obtained remarkable theorems giving sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic orbits emanating from an equilibrium point of a differential system with a first integral. Using averaging theory, we establish a similar result for a differential system without assuming the existence of a first integral. A quadratic polynomial differential systemcan be identified with a single point of ?12 through its coefficients. The phase portrait of the quadratic systems having a rational first integral of degree 3 have been studied using normal forms. Here using the algebraic invariant theory, we characterize all the non-degenerate quadratic polynomial differential systems in ?12 having a rational first integral of degree 3. We show that there are only 31 different topological phase portraits in the Poincaré disc associated to this family of quadratic systems up to a reversal of the sense of their orbits, and we provide representatives of every class modulo an affine change of variables and a rescaling of the time variable. Moreover, each one of these 31 representatives is determined by a set of algebraic invariant conditions and we provide for it a first integral.  相似文献
