New substituted and unsubstituted phenol based mesogene series having an azo central linkage was synthesized by fixing phenol as rigid core unit with aromatic amine. The terminal –OH group was esterified successively by long alkyl chain acid chloride of variable length (n=2, 6, 11, 15, 17). All 25 synthesized compounds exhibit mesomorphism. The effect of side chain length and substituents on the stability of liquid crystals was studied. The study reveals that nitro substituent destabilizes nematic and smectic phases more than floro substituent. Furthermore, the transition temperature decreases as the length of side chain increases. 相似文献

Nonracemic rose oxides were synthesized from racemic or nonracemic monoterpene alcohol citronellol by a novel chemo and chemo‐enzymatic route. After the key step of bromomethoxylation of citronellol, the intermediate was dehydrobrominated by a base, followed by an acid catalyzed demethoxylation along with cyclization to furnish rose oxides in high yield. For the comprehensive metabolite profiling of human plasma, sample preparation is a crucial step. In this investigation, we have compared 10 different extraction techniques for metabolite profiling by GC–MS. Six one-dimensional (1D) and four two-dimensional (2D) extraction techniques involving solvent precipitation, molecular weight cut off tube (MWCOT) and solid phase extraction (SPE) by using silica, RP C18, cation and anion were investigated. Pooled samples of 50 Healthy Male Plasma (HMP), 50 Healthy Female Plasma (HFP) and 100 Healthy Pakistani Plasma (HPP) were subjected to these extraction methods for comparison purposes. Metabolites obtained were identified through NIST mass spectral (Wiley registry), METLIN and Fiehn RTL libraries. XCMS Software was used for the detection of metabolic features, retention time correction, alignment, annotation and statistical analysis in each method. 116–34 peaks were detected by various methods and approx 33% of the peaks were characterized in each method. Hierarchical clustering of the 10 extraction methods showed a low similarity index (50.1%) which indicated different chemical nature of metabolites, resulting from different methods. Venn diagram highlights the GC–MS peaks (33–77%) common in various methods. Metabolites which were different in male and female groups were detected using a threshold value of p ≤ 0.0001, q ≤ 0.001 and fold change ≥3 by employing Welch's t-test and identified through METLIN. Results indicated that 2D-C18 and 2D-silica offers a comprehensive metabolite profile in term of reproducibility, number of peaks and difference in metabolite pattern of male and female. 相似文献

An ultrasonic-assisted leaching procedure was developed for the determination of heavy elements (As, Cu, Cd, Pb, and Zn) in Certified Reference Material of human hair (CRM 397) provided from the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) of the Commission of the European Community. Concentrated nitric acid-30% hydrogen peroxide (2 + 1) was used for the leaching method. The effects of different factors on acid leaching of elements, such as presonication time (without ultrasonic stirring), sonication or exposure time to ultrasound, and temperature of the ultrasonic bath have been investigated. Optimum values of these parameters were selected for the maximum extraction of heavy metals from CRM BCR 397 and human scalp hair samples of normal healthy males. To check the validity of the proposed method, a wet acid digestion method was used to obtain the total elemental concentration in CRM BCR 397 and scalp hair samples. Cu and Zn in leachate and digests were measured by flame atomic absorption spectrometry using a conventional air/acetylene flame, while As, Cd, and Pd were determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Under optimized conditions, the recovery for Zn, Cd, Pd, As, and Cu was 98, 98.5, 97.5, 98.2, and 95%, respectively, of those obtained with the wet acid digestion method. 相似文献

A new series of pyrazolone based azo acid dyes (3a–g) has been synthesized starting from 1‐(p‐sul‐phophenyl)‐3‐methyl‐5‐pyrazolone (1). The synthetic methodology included the nitrosation of p‐sulphophenyl methyl pyrazolone followed by reduction, diazotization and coupling with Naphthol AS derivatives (2a–f), in alkaline medium to yield different acid dyes. Multichromic metal complexes of these dyes (5a–f, 6a–f and 7a–f) with 3d transition metals Chromium, Iron and Copper were also synthesized. The structures of all of newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by analytical data and spectroscopic techniques. The synthesized dyes were applied on leather to assess their light fastness, wash fastness and rubbing fastness and were shown to exhibit high values of 4–5 for majority of dyes. 相似文献
